I'm trying to explain EV training to my younger brother and here is his question...

so battling gastlys 252 times gives you 252 Sp. Atk. EV points?

Gastly gives you 1 Special Attack EV, Haunter gives you 2, and Gengar gives you 3, from what I remember

There is a guide on Gamefaqs which says how many EV points a certain pokemon gives. It also can be doubled with Macho Brace and again with Pokerus.
