FINAL STANDINGS​

Congratulations to the eight players who made it to playoffs! Be their consistency into having a deep run or winning a cup that brought them here, they'll now be facing each other in a single elimination, no holds barrel bracket to decide who has that dawg in them and be crowned the Grand Slam champion! Before anything else, thanks to SparksBlade, Theia, kenny and uhBella for hosting the individual cups, very much appreciated work <3

All sets will be best-of-5, with the higher seed choosing the first tier to play while the loser chooses the subsequent ones from their respective lists above.

1. Tycarter (60) vs 8. dunoks (40)

Hype and tough matchup on both side. We have on the left side Tycarter that has mastered bdsp metagames since it was released and he has proved that he's on top of the pool rn in bdsp lower tiers. I can definitely see him taking RU - Ubers - PU. On the right side we have dunoks the goat that has the edge in terms of experience on showdown but more in conventional tiers. He has managed to slip into the playoffs stage by the backdoor but doesnt mean that he doesnt deserve to be here. His knowledge and gameplay is still slightly better than Ty here even if he's becoming a stronger player really fast. My heart wants Dunoat to win but my head says Ty has the edge overall. T'as pas intérêt à faire ton chômeur dunoks :paz:

2. jawabarat (40) vs 7. MTB (60)

Tough to decide who has the edge here since i dont really know both players. I saw some games and from gameplay and results i think that Jawa will win NU - PU but MTB is (from what i know) a more experienced player and will come back. LC should be a win for him then picking up the dub in the last two tiers.

3. SOMALIA (50) vs 6. Banbadoro (50)

My hype matchup of this round by far. Two excellent players and especially in OM. Somalia my bro has done super well in UU and PU particularly in the tour. This guy might seems like an old legend forgotten in this game but trust me he's still well seated and ready to take on every opponent. On the other side, Banbadoro, which i faced a couple more times than necessary recently and i can certify he has what it takes to win this tour for sure. He has made final in RU and done average in every other cups, making it hard to guess which one he's more used to play. I give Somalia the UU - PU edge and Banbadoro the RU - Ubers one. NU will decide which one will win this fight. Btw, samples are good i've tested them :P Gl bros

It’s really hard to predict against Ty in BDSP lower tiers, but dunoks is generally a very strong player even if hes always malding at me in our UUFPL team. Highlight matchup imo


3. SOMALIA vs 6. Banbadoro

Never responded to my pm asking for prep advice against codex in pu vs gave me prep advice in uu + is generally a bro

4. Elfuseon vs 5. AquaticCarlie

Carter is one of, if not the best, player across all bdsp lower tiers and also the one who I think will win it all. Not as familiar with dunoks' lower tier record but they're still definitely a strong contender. UU and RU seem like shoo-ins for Carter, with Ubers also being in his favour. NU and PU seem like toss-ups to me.

2. jawabarat vs 7. MTB

LC seems like a guaranteed win for MTB but jawabarat definitely has the edge in NU, PU, and UU imo.

3. SOMALIA vs 6. Banbadoro

Fuck man idk, they're both good players but I don't really see one having a clear edge over the other.

4. Elfuseon vs 5. AquaticCarlie

Elfuseon won the NU open and had a decent showing in RU, as well as being a strong player overall. AquaticCarlie I'm not as familiar with but they're definitely a strong player from what I can tell. Would still give the edge to Elfuseon though.

2. jawabarat vs 6. Banbadoro

Banbadoro has survived the SOMALIA tempest so he can survive everything now. Jokes aside, Jaw will take PU and NU but Banbadoro will take the rest.
 
Predicts:
1. Carter vs 4. Elfu
TyCarter's strengths are UU and RU, while Elfu is strong in NU. LC and PU are up in the air, so I see Carter winning this one should Elfu fail to secure both neutral tiers.

2. Jawa vs 6. Banbadoro

Jawa is more knowledgeable in NU, plus won the PU open so I have them taking those tiers. Banbadoro went deeper into both Ubers and RU, but their UU placements aren't super far off from each other. I have Jawa with the edge in this one.

TyCarter vs Elfuseon

Despite a messy round 1, I'm still placing my bets on Carter winning the whole slam. Ubers being replaced by LC this round might make it a bit more tricky, since as far as I know, he isn't as good in LC as in Ubers. Elfuseon is stronger in NU, while Carter is stronger in UU and RU, which makes PU and LC the toss-ups this round.

jawabarat vs Banbadoro

jawabarat had a good showing in round 1, and with the one tier he lost in not being available this round, I think it's safe to say he is the favoured player here. That being said, Banbadoro made it further into the Ubers and RU open, and is a solid player overall, which means this isn't necessarily a free win for jawa. He might be able to eek out wins in those tiers if he can get the right support though.

Considering my predictions for jawa's round 1 ended up being 100% accurate, might as well try and predict the results for each tier :totodiLUL:.

Before I get to shoutouts and crap, BDSP was the first metagame that I really got into playing for tours and I've always had a lot of fun playing all the lower tiers of BDSP. The best part of BDSP is that there are no boots!!! But anyways considering I bowed out pretty early the last time I made it to grand slam playoffs about a year ago, winning this was huge for me even if I've moved on to playing other metagames as well alongside this one. Anyways I owe a lot to the BDSP community as this was my stomping grounds. Onto the shoutouts.

s/o to Lalaya for helping keep the tour scene for BDSP alive. None of this is possible without you doing all you can to keep it going.

AstilCodex s/o to you for helping me with PU prep, you're a real G and keep cooking PU. It's too bad you didn't sign up for PU in BDSPPL cuz I know you would've cooked that pool.

Zerkas GeniusFromHoenn appreciate y'all for helping me with BDSP Ubers stuff even if it was a tier I wasn't always necessarily invested in.

Grabby once again thanks for helping me theorycraft UU stuff and helping me test a bunch.

jawabarat it was a tough series and it was a pleasure playing you. I know you'll be a threat in the NU Pool for sure.

TTK TONE it's been a pleasure to work with both of you on council and I hope we can improve the RU tier further

db Appreciate you for entertaining some of the ridiculous ideas I had for RU and shit. You're cool to be around.

dunoks Ryuji you two deserve a shoutout at the very least since you two were the ones who took a chance on me to let me support you guys in the last BDSPPL and helped me get started in the team tour scene.

Ggs, I'm pretty happy with how I did overall and I'm not sure I'd have done much differently (bar not bringing mono-lose to curselax in UU). Congrats to TyCarter , there's no shame in losing to you and it was a tough series that ultimately came down to me fishing for scarf Shaymin flinches at the end. It's very well deserved with how dominant and consistent you've been across UU and RU. I've also got to thank half the people he thanked for all the help, it's cool that BDSP lower tiers have such a close community and we all help eachother out.

igiveuponaname I asked you for a cheap Ubers team since I'd never touched the tier prior to the slam, and scarf shaymin flinching + tspikes was exactly the kind of evil I needed. My 2 Ls in the tier don't do your crash course justice and I feel for you that it was cut from BDSPPL this year.

AstilCodex your Noctowl PU team is my favourite team in the tier and I was happy to reuse it because I was just that confident in it, thanks for passing me it even though I haxed you in finals.

TTK Zangoose belly drum screens was just as evil and just as appreciated, shame it loaded into stall

And like Carter said, big thanks to Lalaya for keeping BDSP tours alive, Glock spoke very highly of your managing last year and I'm really looking forward to playing for you.
