Feel free to use this thread to share teams you built and used throughout BDSPPL III. Specifying which tiers the teams are for isn't necessary but appreciated especially if you played multiple tiers during the tour.

Diannie BDSPPL III TeamDump

I played 7 weeks of BDSP NU this PL and the first two weeks, I used teams from pastes passed by wadley and Lasen but from Week 3 til we got eliminated, I built all of the rest of the teams I used. I haven’t explored all mons but I’ll be dropping here not just my teams but also the ideas on how I built.

Week 3: Scarf Hwish mime + subpunch noir

https://pokepast.es/819cc898effa9bd8

:dusknoir: :mrmime: :gligar: :regirock: :whiscash: :leafeon:

This team is built around subpunch dusknoir. I noticed that Dusknoir can sub w/o Regirock/Cradily Stone Edge breaking it in 1 turn bar crit. So I figured it should be easy to focus punch. But then I didn’t pulled it off in the real match lmao. Leafeon is the grass slot here which I think is important coz of the prominence of Whiscash and Lanturn. Mr Mime is the speed control plus Psychic is nice and would punish those that don’t bring Dark types. Then Regirock for Ursaring, Glaceon, and P2 while Whiscash is for Typh and Electivire. Gligar is the defogger plus slow pivot (Ye thats why many runs just 30 IV on it xd). And the only weird ev here is noir’s coz I want to outspeed Regirock so it’s like that. It’s important coz Regirock could click twave before noir click sub if the former is faster.

Week 4: Kang + ludicolo

https://pokepast.es/eb47ed46f211f0f1

:kangaskhan: :ludicolo: :skuntank: :regirock: :whiscash: :dusknoir:

Now this team is built around Kang. And yes it’s jolly coz I thought Silk Scarf is enough for Kang to break but it isn’t..Vs Bloodace it failed to get crucial rolls. My skuntank here is also too passive and got punished in skuntank mirror..Ludicolo is my grass this time since unlike Leafeon, this is a more defensive one with special moves so Scald won’t affect it much so even versus Poliwrath this should be good. I slapped Regirock in every team lol since it’s one of those that could tank a +2 Ursaring. Then whiscash is still here too.

Week 5: Bello + Kingler

https://pokepast.es/1e13df3f05914c1c

:bellossom: :kingler: :kangaskhan: :regirock: :dusknoir: :skuntank:

This time, the grass is bellossom! I ev’d it to win vs skuntank after a qd. Typh is problem so Regirock is here again. Kingler also has weird ev but that’s because I think it only needs to outspeed 230 which is a common benchmark for the likes of Glaceon. Then the three other mons remained the same, Dusknoir but it’s not subpunch this time, Kangaskhan, and Skuntank.

Week 6: Ursa + P2

https://pokepast.es/8c2a4c7be7ccfd5d

:ursaring: :porygon2: :lanturn: :cradily: :typhlosion: :gligar:

First time I’m using Ursaring and Lanturn! Sadly, it met an HO which was tough. Vs Ursaring, I need to rely on gligar Knocking off the toxic orb but welp it still can come free and activate guts + facade anyway. Typh was here though to revenge kill. I mentioned regirock being a reliable check to Ursaring and Porygon2 so I brought both to try to overwhelm Regirock plus Gligar also just sits on Regirock anyway. Lanturn is the blanket spdef check here and Cradily is the grass slot.

Week 7:

https://pokepast.es/19e20d646eacb4d0

:lanturn: :mrmime: :gligar: :shiftry: :ursaring: :qwilfish:

Now for the last team, Shiftry is the grass type! And also the Dark slot! And also the priority slot! And also the defogger slot! But welp…sucker punch aint working versus Smeargle…Then turns out tricking scarf into it just help it to lay hazards anyway before it faints so Smeargle still did a lot versus this team. Ursaring could have ohko p2 unless it has hp/def investment that game. Qwilfish is also dangerous and I actually put boom on it here coz I expected Jawa to use stall again for like the 3rd time..

That’s it for my teamdump! See y’all in the upcoming tours with bdsp nu!

I'll also try to make a VR Post to give some more of my thoughts about this tier

I am retiring from mons and this was my final tournament in any capacity so thought I would share the teams that I built this year and some from last year.

I must also note that the success of the teams is obviously also down to my fantastic pilot jawabarat

W1 (W), W7 (W) My flagship team this year is this offense. I kinda had a moment when trying to build teams for Jawabarat when I realised that offense was the best archetype in BDSP NU and that double dance Gligar is broken. This team features Memento Smeargle and life orb agility P2 as the main innovations.
https://pokepast.es/ad1f0e0019bfa9fd

W2 (L, was a quite unlucky) The only balance I made this year, I think it was a solid team, rng wasn't on its side.
https://pokepast.es/96eaf6cc05dc6426

W3 (W), W4 (W). My Medeia salt farming stall team - I think I invented stall in BDSP NU in last year's PL. I have tried lots of different variations to get here but I think these 6 mons are optimal.

W6 (W). Obama webs

Most of my teams this year were Trogba's and he's just posted them but still thought I'd give some thoughts around them

W1 vs Scarf Kricketune (W) - normalspam HO by Trogba https://pokepast.es/ad1f0e0019bfa9fd

At this point I'm vs a team of bdsp mainers and tryhards so I know they will scout, and the last 2yrs mostly being balance/bos by me I knew I was extremely scoutable so I felt a departure from my norms and getting someone else to build for me would be sensible. I loaded into no normal resist so that helped

W2 vs LpZ (L) - https://pokepast.es/96eaf6cc05dc6426 Ursaring/Healing Wish balance

I played this match while tilted over an act situation and I missed a twave on his ursa turn 1 with no normal resist and got dark pulse flinched. I like modest scarf mime a lot and getting 2 ursas is always nice.

W3 vs Diannie (W) - https://pokepast.es/b75fe309a2653647

Decided to stall Diannie because I hadn't used it yet and with a few people on the slowbros who know me I thought mixing it up would be good. I thought a few of diannie's balances were a bit lacking in longevity or breaking power so this was the safest bet over the variance of ho'ing more.

I agree with Trogba that it's very hard to cover everything well enough defensively with anything other than his 6. It's a little tricky into guts ursa, need spdef gligar for toxicroak but its still a flinch away from getting owned (hence eq > circle throw poli to have a little more room into it), and something like sub leafeon could get extremely hairy but everything else is manageable comfortably.

W4 vs Medeia (W) - same stall as last week

I thought we were out this week so decided if we can't have any fun neither can our opponents. I also thought against someone known for tilting this could wind them up so I tried to rfn with it and got declined but got wednesday gaming. 20 turns of throwing later I get a forfeit with no gg lmao

W5 vs BloodAce (L) - Swagcargo HO by Baddy https://pokepast.es/3587f5c970b79ade

Magcargo is a funny lead, was heartbroken to see BloodAce's Lanturn had speedcreep. I trolled a bit this game but I probably would have lost even if I didn't, opponent just prepped well really and it was tricky, scarf scyther is tough. Our scyther is sitrus to be like oras volcarona, a fast guy is nice but I don't think it's the best ho pick ever really. Skunk is to keep hazards up (maybe its cooler on webs where thats more important) and get more chances for Qwil/Gligar to set up. BloodAce led well to deny me hazards, I didn't want to scyther because that could just thud into a lead regi.

W6 vs LpZ (W) - Obama webs by Trogba https://pokepast.es/326661fea9684801

LpZ used a lot of balance/bo so I felt like webs could catch him out even if he's prepped into ho generally. Obama sadly has to be jolly to outspeed anything even with webs up, our own typhlosion is mostly not to get owned by opposing typhlosion. Ursaring + obama is a bit antisynergistic as it just kills itself faster but you can get away with it more with guts > quick feet. Also felt belt typhlosion recover p2 and guts ursa would leave us in pretty good stead if he decided to stall.

W7 vs Diannie (W) - normalspam HO from w1 again

I was in Scotland and had to game on my phone this week so I just wanted to use something that would make the game fast lmao. Threw out both normals into no normal resist and still won this might be the best team ever. At this point Diannie had been using pretty similar balances every week so I felt pretty confident this could just overwhelm everything they've brought.

W8 vs sleid (W) - Obama webs semi-veil by me - https://pokepast.es/26b58d48340de49d

The first team I built all tour, threw it together the night before/morning of but it feels very good even if it could be refined a bit. Masquerain was the hazard setter to throw off some random funny Smeargle antilead, and it's also just faster and more offensively threatening. I especially like that if anything wants to fog on you you can just qd up. It should definitely be timid, I think I just accidentally clicked the showdown recommended evs without meaning to and that made it modest which came into plya in the game and I trolled with that Ludicolo sequence.

I have tried a lot to make Aurora Veil ho work in the tier but light clay obama is just so ass. I think semi-veil could be legit though, even with only the 5 turns this veil gave Qwilfish a lot of room to set up and kill things.

Sleid prepped very well into me with Kangaskhan + Sneasel for good speed and a strong Ice Shard, I think this was definitely an uphill battle and I had to get lots of aggressive plays correct to stay alive.

Trogba and I will compile some samples and a new VR before we sign off probably. Might do more of a conclusion later and format it better but gotta go to work now

I'll drop some of my favorite RU teams from like the past 2 years of playing this metagame since it's probably my favorite BDSP tier. Some are already in samples but yeah. Some of them I made for PL and some were teams I used in Open etc.

https://pokepast.es/52c86041051e7bc5 - Houndoom FWG Balance, FWG Cores are generally good, and solar beam power herb Doom is extremely good in this tier since not a lot can actually take its boosted moves.

https://pokepast.es/181e74a56d4a1d8b - Froslass Spikes HO, this is a pretty basic foundation of Spikes HO

https://pokepast.es/4c84bce6ccc1e99f - Kabutops Suicide Lead Offense, a modern edition of the old Kabutops + Double Fighter team I used back around Grand Slam II and BDSP RU Open II.

https://pokepast.es/0c114fc7b5e8b8bb - Hitmonchan + Stallbreaker Magmortar FWG Balance, Magmortar designed to break chansey and bust through other common defensive cores.

https://pokepast.es/926b23bc660b3eb1 - this one is a stall sample that I made that was good during a period in BDSP RU's history where fire types were not used as much and it took advantage of common trends at the time when Houndoom was not used as much and Magmortar usage was at an all-time low for usage. It hasn't aged too gracefully but it's a team I still like from time to time.

https://pokepast.es/e58ee8ff0133fe54 - Sceptile FWG squad. This was me attempting to build Sub Doom and Sceptile with Ape as a pivot mon to support it. RegiXatu is also usually a pretty good defensive core mostly because hazard removal in this tier really sucks. Unnerve Doom was something I used in response to things like colbur mespirit/slowking which was somewhat trendy at the time.

Tbh this tier is a pretty fun sandbox to build stuff around and while I've favored spikes HO or stuff like FWG Cores in recent times, I think the tier had enough room for creativity. I am hoping the shifts will give us some interesting mons!

Week 1 vs Lizzie (W)
:tangrowth: :heatran: :milotic: :blissey: :gliscor: :clefable:
Going into this week on of my main concerns was how Liz, to my knowledge, had never touched BDSP before so I couldn't really scout them as well as I would like. Another one of my concerns was that I knew my friend Boopi was supporting the Bibarels this PL and I would have to worry about the possibility of one of his heat creations being used against me. For this reason I decided to start building some fat teams in order to shield myself from whatever potential onslaught I could be facing. Initially I had a different team planned for this week but after a bit more testing a few hours before the match I ended up not liking the team as much as I originally did. Since I spent most of the week preparing that team and there wasn't much time before my set I ended up reusing this team that I used in seasonal finals since I was comfortable with it and I didn't have the time to build something from the ground up and playtest to make sure it would be good enough to bring. I'm not happy with the fact that I ended up reusing a team in my first team tournament match but it still ended up securing the win so there's that.

Week 2 vs Mimikyu Stardust (L)
:mamoswine: :zapdos: :scizor: :garchomp: :togekiss: :rotom-wash:
After the 100+ turn grindfest last week that drove my team to boredom while watching I promised one of my managers that I would bring something more offensive for the following week. Mamoswine + Zapdos is a core I'm fond of and it leans towards offense so I started building around that with the idea of the team benefitting from paralysis but not being totally reliant on it. Scizor provided key defensive utility while also being my main win condition considering most of the team threatened Heatran greatly or invited it in and did some chip damage to wear it down. SD Garchomp was my rocker and SpDef Rotom-Wash offered some more defensive backbone to the team while also being able to spread paralysis with Thunder Wave. Togekiss was the speed control with Choice Scarf but I decided to run a somewhat funky set by giving it Nasty Plot instead of a coverage move so that it can swap into Knock Off against fatter teams and begin terrorizing them with boosted Air Slashes. In hindsight this was a weird decision considering I was going up against Mimikyu Stardust who mostly uses offensive teams, so Flamethrower likely would have been better here. Played the game horribly which I'm not happy about but it's in the past now so no use worrying about it much.

Week 3 vs Lostmemories (W)
:gliscor: :latias: :rotom-wash: :scizor: :mew: :empoleon:
Talking about this team is honestly very difficult since it ended up deviating so much from the first draft and I kept making changes to the team throughout the week to try and cover whatever the team ended up being weak to with each iteration. Even the final version ended up with us saying ''Let's hope they don't load Weavile'' which isn't a particularly good sign. That being said my favourite part of this team was Empoleon, who was initially slotted on the team for a Steel type rocker that didn't have me worrying about getting swept by Feraligatr, but was eventually kept on the final version which was sturdier into the alligator anyways because of its ability to keep rocks up versus the main hazard removers in the tier. Second least favourite team I brought simply because of the mess that was the building process.

Week 4 vs Skitty (Skittyrox) (W)
:infernape: :heatran: :celebi: :gliscor: :scizor: :rotom-wash:
Alt war time! Going into this I knew I was able to completely forego the Togekiss matchup since I was playing Skitty lmao. One major thing I had noticed while looking at his games from prior weeks + my past experiences in battling him was that his Fire resists were usually on the shakier side and that SD Metal Coat Scizor was one of his more common win conditions. With those observations in mind I started building Fire spam as a way to punish these trends of his. CB Infernape and Specs Heatran both break like nobodies business against most teams even when separate but together they're even more deadly. Celebi was the special/Water check and rocker and the rest of the team was a standard VoltTurn core (Defog Gliscor, bulky SD Scizor, Scarf Washtom). A bit shaky into Suicune and Dragonite but otherwise a solid team imo.

Week 5 vs Dex (L)
:crawdaunt: :roserade: :scizor: :mew: :gliscor: :heatran:
Dex had brought a lot of offense and BO up to this point so I prepped a few teams which would try and turn the tables on those sorts of teams. Honestly I wasn't a fan of the ideas I had when building this week but by the time it was my turn to play we had already won the week so I didn't feel too much pressure to bring something super solid. I ended up bringing this semi trick room team with Crawdaunt because that sounded funny as hell and I wanted to redeem it after I missed every Crabhammer while under trick room during practice. Unfortunately I didnt get the opportunity to click the funny move during the game but in the end I'm not torn up about how this game went and it was lots of fun regardless. Funny team but also my least favourite of everything I brought by far.

Week 6 vs AquaticCarlie (W)
:alakazam: :infernape: :azumarill: :zapdos: :garchomp: :bronzong:
Scarf Kricketune used a Future Sight Kadabra the week prior in our PU match in order to take advantage of its most common switch-in with a strong breaker who would force it out. The success of that set ended up inspiring me to try something similar in OU, using Future Sight as a means to punish Scizor switch-ins and make progress despite being walled. Scarf Infernape and CB Azumarill were added for speed control and breaking power respectively while also being good at switching into and threatening Alakazam's most common checks in Scizor and Weavile. Garchomp was added as a rocker but without being able to carry any coverage I needed a way to deal with Togekiss who risked being nasty into this team otherwise. This led me to adding Zapdos as my hazard remover which also worked out nicely since it was another check to Scizor and it appreciated Future Sight threatening any Ground types attempting to wall it.

Now Bronzong... was a choice. At this point I had realized that I had no special check nor a Steel type. On top of that I wasn't exactly thrilled at how my team looked defensively speaking into strong Ground moves. Had the last point not applied I likely would have used Jirachi (much to my dismay) but I ended up having to use Bronzong instead to fill out the rest of the defensive gaps left in the team. During testing I had it nicknamed 'copium' and it did hilariously well by virtue of the fact that it dodged like half the attacks thrown at it especially when it would have died otherwise. But yea no Bronzong is ass lmao. I like this team but it feels more like a team of 5 + a dysfunctional band-aid solution.

Week 7 vs Seraphz (W)
:staraptor: :infernape: :scizor: :starmie: :celebi: :zapdos:
I had the urge to build Staraptor so I went ahead and did so. Three attacks + Roost is helpful for breaking down bulkier cores and Lum is used over Sharp Beak here in order to avoid Flame Body burns at least once. Since Staraptor and Infernape share many defensive checks I added a Scarf Ape to the team as speed control and a way to abuse the holes that Staraptor is meant to break open early in the game. Scizor gives defensive utility plus a setup win condition who appreciates Staraptor's ability to lure in Heatran with Brave Birds and Close Combats, meanwhile Starmie and Celebi are there to help with the hazard game and provide a bit of defensive backbone to the team. Zapdos was added last to fill out the remaining holes left in the team, namely a more reliable way to deal with Skamory, a Togekiss check, as well as a sturdier answer to the likes of Lucario, Infernape, and Scizor. Since I already had hazard removal I slotted Protect on the last slot in order to scout Weavile choice lock who would otherwise be a pain for this team to switch into.

Week 8 vs Baddy (L)
:togekiss: :heatran: :roserade: :azumarill: :mew: :scizor:
Another paralysis focused team that has Togekiss on it. Not too much interesting to say to be honest, Roserade provides a second paralysis spreader that also checks Rotom-Wash and provides spikes to wear down Togekiss and Scizor checks like Heatran, Azumarill is the main breaker who appreciates paralysis support but is not wholly reliant on it, Mew is the special check and defogger, while Scizor provides a win condition and defensive utility. Heatran was made Choice Scarf in order to have some sort of speed control without needing to spread paralysis while also checking mons that beat Togekiss like Scizor.

Other teams I made but never brought for one reason or another
:suicune: :cresselia: :clefable: :gliscor: :heatran: :breloom:
:skarmory: :clefable: :gliscor: :mismagius: :latias: :tangrowth: (what I was originally planning on using week 1)
:dragonite: :starmie: :magnezone: :skarmory: :garchomp: :mew: (probably my favourite team on this whole post)
:volbeat: :kingdra: :scizor: :ludicolo: :mew: :azumarill:
:roserade: :starmie: :moltres: :blissey: :garchomp: :skarmory:

:slowking: :heracross: :garchomp: :heatran: :clefable: :empoleon:
