Beauty and the Beasts

Hello everyone, I come to you with yet another team of mine. This one I've been using for a while, and it is one of my best teams, and my favorite. I bring it to you for opinions, and ways of improving it (Every team has room for improvement). The team has already gone through so many changes since I've used it, but I need some outside advice. Please let me know what you think of it!

Galvantula (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Compound Eyes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Sticky Web
- Thunder
- Giga Drain
- Bug Buzz

Galvantula is the best Sticky Web user in the game in my opinion. With Break Neck speed combined with a Focus Sash, Galvantula is almost absolutely guaranteed to set up a Sticky Web. What is great about Galvantula though, it isn't a suicide lead. My Team does no rely on Sticky Web to function, it is simply a nice added bonus. I have had people lead with Talonflame or Azumarill, and I've had Galvantula kill them with Thunder easily (Some even Rage Quite after). While it is a frail Pokemon, Galvantula is a great lead simply because of the diversity of what I can do with it (Sticky Web or go for the Offensive). The EV Spread is pretty basic, max out Speed and Special Attack to hit fast and hit hard. Compound Eyes allows Galvantula to spam Thunder without having to rely on rain being present to actually hit. Timid is the obvious choice for Nature here, as it best suits Galvantula. The Move set is what defines this Galvantula: Sticky Web to slow down my opponent, which is always nice. Thunder is Galvantula's best STAB move, one shoting Talonflame and Azumarill, and doing heavy Damage on Charizard Y. Giga Drain used to be Volt Switch, however the redundancy of two Electric Attack, and the fact that Galvantula usually didn't have the survivability to successfully Volt Switch in and out, so I switched it with the ability to hit Ground type Pokemon, and some recovery power. Bug Buzz is Galvantula's Secondary STAB move, and is useful against Espeon that switch in thinking I'm gonna Sticky Web. All in all, Galvantula has proven to be an asset to the team, and surprisingly hits hard.

Venusaur (M) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Chlorophyll
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder

Venasaur is a great Pokemon on this team. While not as good as its Mega form, regular Venasaur can be a great Anti-Sun Pokemon thanks to Chlorophyll. Black Sludge is for constant recovery. This is a bulky tank, So Giga Drain and Sleep Powder are mandatory on this set, not only providing some Sleep Shenanigans, but another way of Recovery. Sludge Bomb hits Fairy Pokemon hard, with the chance to Poison, and HA Fire is to combat other Grass type Pokemon. The EV Spread spells a Defensive Tank, as does Bold Nature. What is great with Venasaur is that it is the perfect Rotom-W counter.

Gardevoir (F) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Trace
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Timid Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Shadow Ball
- Psyshock
- Will-O-Wisp

Mega Gardevoir is more dangerous than people give her credit for. My Special Sweeper, M-Gardevoir is dangerous, with Max EV investments in Special Attack and Speed, this is one Fairy that will hurt you, and hurt you good. Before Mega Evolving, Trace allows for Gardevoir to switch safely and mess with certain Pokemon, and safely Mega Evolve. Once Mega evolved, this gothic beauty brings the pain. Pixilated Hyper Voice does more damage than even Moon Blast, with the added bonus of being able to go through Substitutes, thanks to the new sound Mechanics, and it is a devastating move on Gardevoir, doing massive damage on anything that doesn't resist it. Shadow Ball hits Trevenant and Gengar, Psyshock is a power STAB move that allows Gardevoir to rip through Special Walls like Blissey. The last slot, Will-O-Wisp, is for crippling Physical Threats on the opposing team. While Gardevoir is still quite frail physically, her new Mega Evolution proves that she is not to be messed with or taken lightly.

Entei @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Iron Head
- Stone Edge
- Return

Entei is...well, Entei is an interesting choice on my part. Originally this spot belonged to Heatran, but I found that it was lacking. So I chose Entei, testing it out. Choice Band hits hard with Entei, very hard. The EV Spread is a basic spread for the Choice Band varient, a great Wall Breaker which the team needs. Sacred Fire on Entei is devastating, with a 50% chance to burn the target, and it pretty powerful to boot. Iron Head allows Entei to crash through Fairy Pokemon such as Sylveon and Togekiss, and Stone Edge gives coverage against opposing Fire types such as Charizard Y. Now, the last spot....I would love it if I had access to Extremespeed Entei, but sadly I don't, and I honestly wasn't sure what to put there, so I thought Return would be a good choice. Any opinions on this Entei is appreciated.

Excadrill.full.1471772.jpg

Excadrill (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 176 HP / 52 Atk / 9 Def / 198 SDef / 73 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock
- Iron Head

This Excadrill varies from regular Mold Breaker sets as it is more of a Bulky Rapid Spinner than an offensive Pokemon. However, this does not mean Excadrill is completely defenseless. In fact, this Excadrill can still hit pretty hard. EQ is the Stab move of choice, combining with Mold Breaker, send Rotom-W to an early Grave, as well as Heatran who have had Balloons popped. It also hits opposing Excadrills hard. Stealth Rock provides a second layer of Hazard for my opponents to worry about, and Iron Head is secondary STAB to deal with Fairy Pokemon. Now, the EV Spread allows Excadrill to outspeed Rotom-W and use EQ on, while still keeping its bulk.

Dragonite (M) @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Punch
- Extreme Speed

Multiscale, Weakness Policy Dragonite. This screams Physical Sweeper, and that is exactly what it is. This is a truly deadly combination, as Multiscale allows Dragonite to almost always survive an unboosted Special Attack and get a Dragon Dance up. And once hit, Weakness Policy activates, boosting Dragonite up even more for the sweep. I run Dragon Claw over Outrage simply because Dragon Claw is more reliable, while less powerful. Not being locked into Outrage and having a Fairy Switch into me, and not having to worry about confusion is nice. Fire Punch is great coverage, hitting Steel types that could cause Gardevoir problems, while Extreme Speed allows me to have Priority, and finish off any weakened trouble Pokemon.
