Hey, I'm getting Pokemon Y for Christmas and I'm planning out my team, I've tested this team on Showdown and I can't seem to do well with it, although the Pokemon themselves seem pretty cool.
Volcarona just seems like a decent fire type and its bug status adds a bit of diversity. The problem is that it faints far too easily to common types. It is meant to be a special sweeper and annoyer, the type of fire seems kind of important though so if changed, a similar or same type would be really cool.
Volcarona (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Swarm
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spd
Bold Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Quiver Dance
- Roost
- Heat Wave
Dragalge is a pretty cool counter to fairy types and still sticking to my love for dragons. However, again, its stats are moderate but really needs to be EV trained to compete with other people's Pokemon. Its meant to be a special tank and counter, plus it looks really cool.
Dragalge @ Black Sludge
Ability: Adaptability
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Venoshock
- Dragon Pulse
- Hydro Pump
(UNDETERMINED, NOT SURE ABOUT THIS ONE)
This Pokemon is simply very powerful, and its typing of ghost and steel is a pretty swell set. Its signatures Sacred Sword and King's Shield are very powerful and/or overpowered, hence no problem more. It is meant to be a physical sweeper due to its powerful move-set and its defensive mode is an awesome addition.
Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Careful Nature
- Sacred Sword
- King's Shield
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Sneak
Noivern is one of the Pokemon I use when speed is important, however, this is the most likely to be replaced. He can, however, be quite weak without EV training with his low base stats. He special attack is also pretty decent but his typing is not real great and somewhat of a liability.
Noivern (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Infiltrator
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
(SEEMS TO BE A LIABILITY FOR FLYING TYPE)
Modest Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Flamethrower
- Boomburst
- Air Slash
Talonflame is a very speedy Pokemon with his EV's and Gale Wings makes Brave Bird a possible OHKO. Its move-set is pretty powerful but his attack may not be great without EV's. This is one I'm not very attatcked to and Mandibuzz seems like a viable flying type. Yes, Buss is not fire but theres a Volcarona up there. ;)
Talonflame @ Lum Berry
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature
- Roost
- Brave Bird
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn
The original option was Greninja due to its Protean's way to take advantage of type match-ups. Blastoise was later chosen for two main reasons, I'm not very good at predicting the foe's moves thus I commonly misused Protean, and Blastoise has good stats with mega evolution along with being a massive tank. I also want to have a water type on the team.
Blastoise-Mega (M) @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Mega Launcher
EVs: 148 HP / 140 SAtk / 220 SDef
Calm Nature
- Yawn
- Aqua Ring
- Water Pulse
- Water Spout
