Introduction

Heya guys, I'm pretty new to anything competitive related, I've built a team over a long period of time on my AS game, and used Smogon for that a lot of the time, but I was wondering if anyone'd like to rate it. I have tested it a lot online, but that was often through either Battle Spot so that was 3v3, and with Passersby. I've had a lot of succes with it, but seeing as where I tested the team I don't know if the team would be viable in a true competitive environment.

The Team

gardevoir-mega.gif

Gardevoir (M) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Synchronize (Pixilate)
EVs: 252 SpA/ 4 HP / 252 Spe
Nature: Modest
- Hyper Voice
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Calm Mind

My goal with Mega Gardevoir is to hit fast and hit hard. I think she has excellent coverage, and Hyper Voice is absolutely monstrous thanks to Pixilate. I initially had Shadow Ball in the last slot, but I chose Calm Mind instead to boost SpD and SpA if possible.

chesnaught.gif

Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpD / 252 Def
Nature: Impish
- Leech Seed
- Spiky Shield
- Spikes
- Drain Punch

With Chesnaught I wanna do one thing: lay down as many Spikes as possible, Leech Seed the opponent, slam that Spiky Shield in their faces, and use Drain Punch when Chesnaught's health is low and he needs to set up more Spikes. Otherwise, just alternate between Spiky Shield and Drain Punch if possible. Might not be the most elegant solution, but it's been effective for me so far.

dragonite.gif

Dragonite @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Nature: Adamant
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Extremespeed
- Earthquake

Another Pokémon that hits hard and fast. Whenever I have Dragonite on the field, I use Dragon Dance to boost its Attack and Speed, and most of the time the opponent uses a super effective move, which activates Weakness Policy and Multiscale protects Dragonite from KO 80% of the time. Then most of the time I can just use Extremespeed to just wail 'em to faint, but in cases where Extremespeed would not be effective, I can choose Outrage and Earthquake.

clefable.gif

Clefable @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Nature: Calm
- Calm Mind
- Stealth Rock
- Moonblast
- Fire Blast

Clefable is to me an effective Stealth Rock setter, and I use him often after Chesnaught. With this build he has no way to recover, but thanks to its defenses and its boost to it's SpA after one Calm Mind, he can be very effective.

heatran.gif

Heatran @ Air Balloon
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
- Magma Storm
- Earth Power
- Taunt
- Toxic

Heatran is there to break walls by trapping them with Magma Storm, and taunting and poisoning them. He can hit hard, and can easily switch into a strong opposing Fire type attack if Chesnaught's about to get hit by a potential KO for example.

slowbro.gif

Slowbro @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 SpD
Nature: Bold
- Scald
- Psyshock
- Slack Off
- Calm Mind

I went with Rocky Helmet for Slowbro, instead of Leftovers, because Slowbro already has great Defense, and this way he can switch into Physical attackers, hurting them for 1/6th of their health, while being able to heal thanks to Regenerator and Slack Off. Scald is there to Burn, and Psyshock to hit the likes of Chansey, and break through SpD walls in general.

Conclusion

In my opinion this is a pretty solid team, though I am no expert. I've had succes with it so far, but I'd like to hear your opinions on how it might be improved.

Hey dude :n

Dragonite isn't viable without hazard removal and also you're weak of Hazard Stackings. So you can replace Slowbro for SpDef Excadrill, 'cause you still have got Chesnaught for tanking Phisical Sweepers.
You must put the moveset with SR-EQ-Iron Head-Rapid Spin or run SR>Earth Power on Heatran and Toxic>SR on Excadrill for bait the switch ins (Landorus, Rotom...). So you MUST run Soft Boiled>SR on Clefable (love for LOrb Fable). You also can run Bulky Heatran, with 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe Timid Nature. At last try Lum Berry>WPolicy on DNite :]

Hope help u

Hey man! Like another poster mentioned your team has a lot of non-synergetic sets and not every threat is accounted for. In particular, you're going to struggle a lot against opposing Weavile, Mega Diancie, and opposing Mega Gardevoir. The former two can easily break past your Clefable since it has no recovery, and the latter has nothing to come in on it or even force it out. You also have some trouble against Charizard-Y, since it can 2HKO every single member of your team with Stealth Rock up, and you're also a bit annoyed by BD Azumarill, as it can outspeed and KO your Chesnaught after a Belly Drum, and then you have no counterplay to it. Surf Latios looks quite difficult because you can only come in a few times with Mega Gardevoir or once with your no-recovery Clefable. Finally, Manaphy also effectively cleans you out as well because your team is quite slow and can't handle it at +3, with only Gardevoir to trade with it while every other 'mon crumples to Scald / Ice Beam / Energy Ball.

Dragonite has no hazard removal, which makes it tough to use on this team and it's not covering much defensively. Additionally, you already have a wincondition in Calm Mind Slowbro, so I'd recommend using Chople Tyranitar over Dragonite. Chople Tyranitar can check Weavile while setting Stealth Rock more reliably, and can also take on Latios and Charizard-Y with some bulk investment, which your team really appreciates.

Since your team has become even slower with the loss of Dragonite, I recommend using Scarf Landorus-T to be able to outspeed things faster than the base 100 speed tier. It can force out Mega Diancie, Mega Gardevoir, and even Orb Weavile from full health while revenge killing Manaphy after Stealth Rock by using Explosion, or Earthquake, if Mega Gardevoir had gotten a heavy hit off first. You also gain the ability to outspeed Mega Manectric and Mega Alakazam, which could be frustrating if Tyranitar had already been weakened.

Finally, I'd recommend changing Chesnaught's EV spread to 252 HP / 40 Def / 216 Spd and to use Seed Bomb, which outspeeds all Jolly Azumarill by one point and still checks Bisharp before or after a Swords Dance. Will-O-Wisp on Mega Gardevoir would also help you cripple common switchins like Mega Metagross and Mega Scizor on the switchin, which could otherwise be frustrating to handle if they had coverage moves for Slowbro and Heatran respectively. A bit more bulk on Heatran, say about 112 HP, could also let you survive a Focus Blast from Charizard Y and get a Toxic off, which could be big.

Thanks for the tips! Why'd you remove Spiky Shield on Chesnaught tho? I suppose it's for the coverage, but believe it or not, with the Spiky Shield/Leech Seed/Spikes/Drain Punch set I had some great wins. It's true that the recovery wasn't thatr great with just Leech Seed and Leftovers, so on that front I had some problems, but I have taken out several Azumarills with it. Didn't see Belly Drum on them, so I don't know if it's rare to see a BD Azumarill in OU.

Oh, well, you need Drain Punch to check Excadrill and Bisharp, but you also need Seed Bomb to do anything against Azumarill that have Choice Band or are at +6 from Belly Drum. You mentioned Spikes as being something you wanted, too, so your only means of recovery was Leech Seed, and without Protect / Spiky Shield, you won't be able to recover enough health to stay in the game. Simple really.

Also, BD Azumarill is quite common in OU.
