Being able to delete your own account

I don't think this is a good idea.

1) People might see it as a way around bans/infractions
2) What happens if someone steals your account info (not likely, but...) and uses it to delete your account?
3) It would delete the posts, which would make others suddenly seem nonsensical.

You don't need to be able to delete your own account. Just don't log on. It is as good as being deleted without any problems.

No.

You do something stupid, get infracted, until you have ICBB status, and then delete your account and do it all over.

Oh yes. Deleted posts.

If the previous posts weren't enough to make the idea not worth it, Imagine the confusion if a person that say, has 1,000+ posts, has their account deleted by a little sibling, or as an April Fools Prank.

Imagine Philip7086's account deleted, and the effect that would have on the community.

to Philip7086: I'm sorry if you take offense to my post, you were the person I thought of when I thought "who's deleted account would cause massive confusion in the forums"

We don't even delete permanent banned accounts just to keep track of the offender, why should we give people such an easy way to get past our infraction system? No, this is definitely not going to happen.
