BellyRoom Team Assistance

I have been attempting to perfect (as much as possible) this team for quite some time now. Originally, I wanted to construct a BL/UU/NU team. After taking about 6 months away from pokemon, My one BL pokemon was moved up to OU with the dis-membership of the BL tier. I have four main pokemon set and two positions that are open for suggestions. Be creative, unique, etc. with your suggestions. I really want to get this team finished up.

Aerodactyl
Jolly. Focus Sash.
Attack 252, Speed 252, HP 4
Taunt
Stealth Rock
Stone Edge (Open to Suggestions)
Roar (Try to cycle through enemy team to find priority attackers and very slow pokemon) (Open to Suggestions)

Aerodactyl starts and taunts to prevent spikes and stealth rock. It is somewhat important in order for my next pokemon to accomplish his job. Then next turn I stealth rock. This is very important in order for my next pokemon to accomplish his job. Basically, that is all I expect from Aerodactyl. If he inflicts damage on someone or takes them out after his first two turns that's great, but all I expect from him is to taunt and stealth rock and then die. Focus Sash ensures I get those first two turns.

Exeggutor
Brave. Focus Sash.
Attack 252. Sp. Attack 252. I'm not sure where I put the other 4
Trick Room
Explosion
Psychic (Open to Suggestions)
Leaf Storm/Woodhammer (Open to Suggestions)

Exeggutor begins the strategy set up for my team. Exeggutor is also intended for the use of two turns and only two turns, which the focus sash as well as the stealth rock from Aerodactyl ensure, except for . First, Exeggutor gets hit by an attack or has another pokemon switched in thanks to Aerodactyl's taunt on the opponent. Exeggutor uses trick room on his first turn. Now I have one of three options: A) Explode next turn and attempt to take us both out (stealth rock ensures enemy focus sashers can feint). B) Use an attack as long as I'm sure the opponent won't feint and will kill me. C) Use Wood Hammer and get hit with recoil and I feint (To hit Ghost Types). I've never tried option C because I just thought about it.

Smeargle
Relaxed. Macho Brace (Open for Suggestions).
HP 252. Defense 128. Sp Defense 128
Spore
Belly Drum
Baton Pass
xxxxx (Open for Suggestions)

Smeargle has to come in and Baton Pass in three turns. This is also where I have the most problem with my team.

Turn 1: Smeargle spores. The only problems I ever have with this is if I'm up against Bronzong or something extremely slow or a priority attacker. For this reason, I have found it not always best to kill the pokemon Exeggutor is up against. I have only once had a sleep talker or insomnia pokemon switched in on me.

Turn 2: Many situations vary in this turn. Either I spored their pokemon and they switch to a slower or priority attacker, I spored a sleeptalker and get attacked, or I have already feinted from turn one. So, I belly drum.

I usually make it up to this part without fail.

Turn 3: This is my make or break turn. I attempt to baton pass. Main issues are priority attacks which kill me, pokemon that sleep or paralyze my physical sweeper on the baton pass, and whatnot. I haven't tested the team in quite a while, but when I did I remember those priority attacks were the most of my problem, namely Scizor. Hippowdon was a problem too because of his speed if I remember correctly. *Also I think I've had trouble with taunt during this turn now that I think about it.

Salamence (Open to other Physical Sweeper suggestions. I've tried Lucario and Scizor as well)
Jolly. Life Orb/Choice Scarf (Open to Suggestions)
Attack 252. HP 252. Defense 4.
Dragon Claw/Outrage
Hydro Pump/Aerial Ace
Fire Fang/Fire Blast
Earthquake

It doesn't really matter the attack, this guy hits hard with +6. I tend to like life orb over choice scarf just because locking myself into one move sometimes causes a few problems. Although, the extra speed boost is really nice against other choice scarfers. Priority moves are still a pain though, especially ice shard.

My other two team members are completely open for suggestion as well. I usually just stick Jirachi and someone on like a second trick roomer. The main problem with my team is the priority attacks and Bronzong, luckily Bronzong usually makes his appearance early. So, suggestions on how to draw those priority move attackers out to get rid of early on? I figure if I can get rid of them then my strategy will by far work better. I obviously don't plan to keep leading off with Aerodactyl once I get the two other team members so that I can start my strategy later on in the battle. So maybe even some suggestions to replace Aerodactyl in the late game? They would just need taunt and stealth rock to deter the spikers and focus sashers.

Thank you for any and all suggestions.

For Smeargle I say you should use:

Smeargle @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Speed / 4 Defense
Nature: Jolly [+Speed -Special Attack]
- Aqua Rink
- Ingrain
- Spore
- Baton Pass

It gives whoever you Baton Pass into a major way to tank damage. With the help of lefties, a sweeper can stay in and pretty much absorb any status besides toxic without fearing death by status.

For Salamence, I would suggest an Adamant nature to hit as hard as possible.

Salamence @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 68 HP / 252 Attack / 88 Defense / 100 Speed
Nature: Adamant [+Attack -Special Attack]
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Fire Blast
- Roost

This set gives you good coverage and a little bit of bulk. Because you're running an Adamant nature, you want to stay away from the special attack because they won't be doing much. Adamant allows Mence to hit as hard as possible with a DDance and boost from Life Orb. Roost is there to help recover from the recoil damage. Fire Blast helps take care of pesky steels that would otherwise wall you because of the resistance to Dragon Claw. Fire Blast > Earthquake because flying steels (I think Skarmory is the only one though...) would make your Salamence useless.

Hmmm, interesting. I've never really thought about Smeargle without Belly Drum because baton passing belly drum succesfully was the main purpose for which my team was formed. I will definitely try your suggestions out though.

I do have a few questions,
What is the purpose of aqua ring and ingrain if both restore HP. Am i suppose to baton pass them both because in my experience it's really hard to keep Smeargle alive for that many turns. Sporing, Ingrain/Aqua Ring, then baton passing is possible, but using them both before baton passing would be extremely tricky.
Although with the trick room, I could see Sporing, Ingrain on the switch, Aqua Ring as I get hit and live with a focus sash, and then baton pass. It would assume that whoever used trick room feinted the turn he used it so as to bring in Smeargle and trick room last until I baton pass. Priority moves would still destroy me however.

For the Salamence, I can understand the switch from Jolly to Adamant since I would not be baton passing belly drum. My main concern with Salamence then was speed, in this case it would be attack. Roost would give Salamence a third recovery option and this thing would be regaining HP up the yingyang. My only concern with Fire Blast is Heatran, and back when I was testing this team I ran into Heatran quite often and not so many Skarmorys. Levitate Bronzong wouldn't be affected by Earthquake either though. I definitely like the idea of a recovery move for Salamence. Life Orb recoils and a priority attack or two really add up.

You need to post a team of 6 Pokemon, and you're also supposed to test it before putting it up for rate. If you ever complete this team and test it for a while, then PM me with your complete team and I'll unlock this thread. Locking this under rule 16.
