Best item for a Yanmega?

I was previously using a life orb on Yanmega, to give it an attack boost. It's not like it needs the extra HP, pretty much one hit is going to be a OHKO, or close to it.

I was thinking about some better options though. Focus band? If it endures one hit, it'll pretty much kill anything in 2 hits, unless its a sp. wall. (I could be wrong though.) Then Speed Boost + Protect can make it faster than the next thing, hopefully resulting in another OHKO... If only it had Nasty Plot, lol.

What would you put on a starter Yanmega? :O
 
Ummmmm, Wide Lens, Expert Belt and wise glasses all work I guess. You don't want to lower it's HP, so that it can switch in twice on SR.
 
Either Focus Sash, or Expert Belt.
Life Orb is good only when you have a Rapid Spinner, to get rid of Stealth Rock. As I rarely use one, sometimes I just try to let her live longer with Wish support.
 
On a late-game Yanmega, I'd use Expert Belt. Life Orb recoil sucks when switching into Stealth Rocks when sandstorm is in play. You lose 50% when you switch in, then 16% every turn.
 
I would go with Wide Lens if I was using Hypnosis, and probably Expert belt otherwise so I could hit Mence / Heatran / Whatever harder depending on what Hidden Power I'm running. Leftovers isn't a terrible option, since it atleast nullifies Sandstorm, which is sort of helpful, but i would go with Expert Belt or Wide Lens first, maybe even Wise Glasses
 
I use Sash. Yanmega has pretty bad defenses so lasting two hits is pretty good for it. Just Hypnosis first hit, then either swap or start owning other pokemons.
 
Well,yanmega isn't so frail after all.
I use 44 DEF effort in my mega,and one time it survived a max atk electivire thunderpunch(of course the vire wasn't holding orb or belt).
Have you guys ever lokked at yanmega defense and HP?86 DEF and 86 HP is pretty good for a special swepper after all.
And about the item,i use life orb or wise galsses due to some item clauses...
 
For the assassin, I'd use expert belt or sash, more so expert belt as his only bad defense is special defense. however, why hasnt anyone mentioned the tinted lens set? for that you need choice scarf :D
 
Choice Specs. =)

Choice Scarf is cool too, allowing you to use the other awesome ability, Tinted Lens. Nothing resists his attacks! Except 4x weaks.
