Hatterene @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Magic Bounce
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Healing Wish
- Nuzzle
- Psychic
- Giga Drain
Put on recently over Florges to keep a fairy. Florges was too physically frail(this isn't heaps better there, but for sure some.) Also I felt like Orthworm and Mudsdale often got into situations where I wished I had Healing Wish. Kept Covert Cloak for Garganacl, probably will change my tera type on cart too but idk, right now is Psychic which is not used at all. But flying is weak to Salt Cure so it's hard to want to commit shards to an idea. EVs for odd value, max Special bulk w/ that. Nuzzle is good para spreading, esp. since I dropped Sandaconda. Giga Drain is for default Garganacl, decent move besides. I'm not crazy about this, but maybe the ability will pay off more in the future.

Orthworm @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Earth Eater
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 244 HP / 252 Def / 12 Spe
Impish Nature
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Metal Burst
- Stealth Rock
Iron Def and Body Press do a lot, and w/ Earth Eater there is often little to fear from stuff like DNite, Chomp, and Glimmora. Meowscarada is beaten courtesy of steel type, SE Body Press, and great phys bulk. Metal Burst for special attackers I can live, sometimes using tera to take a fire move for ex. SR to set when I hae time, breaks Meowscarada's sash for one. 12 Spe to creep Dirge(to set SR, since I can't do anything to dirge.) Really good mon, the only one I really want to use from VR thread.

Mudsdale @ Figy Berry
Ability: Stamina
Level: 50
Tera Type: Dragon
EVs: 236 HP / 12 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SpD / 4 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Counter
- Body Press
- Heavy Slam
This is here partly for Maushold. Although even it can't switch in. EVs beat something w/ an Atk, creep other 35s(Garganacl,) and max phys bulk w/ odd HP(this kind of # matters right? Sure I heard it somewhere.) Dragon tera to take grass and Water, notably this lives Wave Crash from Palafin-H(terad,) even if it gets every normal boost bar crit(rain, CB, Tera Water.) Then I use Counter. Body Press gets very strong w/ Stamina, notably it utilizes the effect of Stamina to some extent even vs. special attackers. Heavy Slam cause this replaced the boring Kingambit, as that w/ water tera also does the Palafin thing. Since I replaced a mon w/ Kowtow Cleave, I needed to maintain a move that beats Minimize Drifblim. EQ for good STAB, used vs. Clodsire for an ohko.

Cetitan @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
Level: 50
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 84 SpD / 164 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Ice Shard
- Tera Blast
- Liquidation
- Earthquake
EVs were originally for 112 for 4 Spe Annihilape, but accidentally did more and seems fine...even SpD # for te suggested AV, max Atk. 4 HP gives an even #, so I'm still willing to put that and 4 from def into SpD. Could use input. I wanted this for Ice Shard for Mence, mainly. Though they can have fire, so Thick Fat is good. Electric tera blast is mainly for Corviknight. Idk why Liquidation, I like the move at any rate. EQ is usually a good move, I think I might have it on too many mons though, since flying is one of the big tera types(though so are steel and fire...)

Mismagius @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
Tera Type: Electric
EVs: 188 HP / 4 Def / 60 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Trick
- Power Gem
- Thunderbolt
One of my favorites, and one of the best usually on this team. EVs for max Scarf Annihilape, bulk to live Timid Gholdengo if it isn't LO or more. The rest in SpA. Less Spe isn't really an option since I want to handle +1 Vivillon. Trick is great, also the scarf helps to absorb Trick. People are sometimes willing to Trick Mismagius, which I highly doubt they'd do to Gengar. This can waste their time a bit. I really need to hit Volcarona, so I put Power Gem over Dazzling Gleam, which was meant for non-tera Hydreigon. T-Bolt w/ the no weaknesses Levitate Electric tera is good, hurfs Corv a lot, and Dondozo.

Clodsire @ Black Sludge
Ability: Unaware
Level: 50
Tera Type: Poison
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
Shiny: Yes
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover
- Amnesia
This is very recent, I haven't had time to do anything w. it. The last mon was Sandaconda, but I feel this is even better w/ Skeledirge, and that's the main thing. Or that and Volcarona, rather. I think these are the EVs of the one I have. EQ is good in general, Toxic and Recover are the whole point of Clodsire. That leaves 1 free space, I have Amnesia atm because this is really only taking special stuff anyway. And my team is physically defensive. It helps by offsetting the fact Draco Meteor/Overheat debuffs are ignored by Clodsire. Black Sludge seems good, and poison tera to stay heathy w/ it. Although I guess it isn't good to tera this anyway. I may turn this flying tera and give it the cloak for the dreaded salt golem, alternatively may use Sheer Cold Cryogonal(can't trust much, except that non-ice types will basically never tera ice to eat sheer colds.)
This is what I ended S1 w/. I did poorly, but maybe by less than I have using otherwise "better" teams in gen 8. I think there's some good surprise factor to the mons that do work but aren't actually in VR thread w/ all the major threats. I've gone through very many mons, and so while I may know what I fear(Garganacl, Dirge, Volcarona,) I'm not sure of current threats to this team, as I change too often.
EDIT: Replaced Cetitan(bad) and Clodsire(forgot it's common lol.)
