Big City Mafia 2 - Three Districts - Won by Lavender Lions

1714747140869.png

When I was talking to Celever on cycle 3 I decided to make this chart to help solving and didn't had the chance to use it until now.

Just by looking at the N3 there is at least 1 scum within genisu, hh and me if this theory is correct.

To be honest until HH does something in this thread I'd rather vote him over genisu. If I lose I'd rather lose to a Genisu mafia being active and trying than to HH mafia being inactive. So if anyone has a better reason to vote one over the other I'll listen.

I don't even know if this theory is right but looking at interactions in this thread and that genisu current knowledge about game state is not much better than mine its fair to say we are the some of the least trusted players. I guess it's not a bad voting pool (it has me in it though :eeveehide:).

I have 0 interactions with bluedoom and he logged into this thread but didn't reply so I have no idea about his alignment or anything about him. I can't really comment anything other than what I said earlier about town stacking in a district looking weird.

bluedoom was voted out.

Dear bluedoom,
You are the Graverobber.

You are not afraid to steal from the dead, why do they need it, they’re dead! You’ve found all sorts of interesting things there. You will be using your talents to try to bring back the glory days for the Lavender Lions.

Every time a member of the Red Rhinos dies, you will rob their grave. You will gain a single use of their action to be used on any future night. But be careful, because once you use it, it is gone forever.

You are allied with the Lavender Lions. You win if you eliminate all threats.
It is now Evening 5. Evening 5 ends in 24 hours on 5/4/2024 at 4:00 PM EDT (GMT -4).

I have received a number of location choices already; if I get one from everyone before I go to bed tonight, I will update early.

Public posting is once again not allowed, while private communications to people within the same location is once again allowed.

Alice Kazumi has died.

Dear Alice Kazumi,
You are the Bouncer.

You run the security for a nightclub downtown. You hate people who try to get in for free or when they aren’t invited. You support the Red Rhinos in this conflict.

At night, you may Protect <user>. You will defend your target from any attempts on their life.

You are allied with the Red Rhinos. You win if you eliminate all threats.
you hear a message:

Members of Center City: Alice Kazumi (claims forced), askaninjask, Aura Guardian, genisu, HydrogenHydreigon

Aura Guardian for representative.
It is now Day 6. Day 6 ends in 23.5 hours, on 5/6/2024 at 4:00 PM EDT (GMT -4). All results are out. Get your votes in.

Day 6 election results:

Center City has elected HydrogenHydreigon
Townburg
has elected a fairy
Village Villa
has elected Jalmont

The three users mentioned may post in the thread to vote for a user to be executed, or may No Vote if they wish for nobody to be executed.

Additionally, everyone must choose what location they will go to for the next cycle.

It is now Evening 6. Evening 6 ends in 48 hours, on 5/8/2024 at 4:00 PM EDT (GMT -4).

Jalmont was executed

Dear Jalmont,
You are the Corrupt Cop.

You’ve always used your occupation as a way to exert control and bend the rules to your favor. However, when the political reform came, you were kicked out of the Red Rhinos. You would never turn to the Lavender Lions for help, so it seems you’ll have to do it all yourself.

Every night, you may Shoot <user>. You will kill your target. Alternatively, you may Poison <user>. Your target will die 1 night after being poisoned. For interactions with other roles, Poisoning is treated the same as an attempted kill on the night you use the action, not the night your target dies.

Every night, you may Stalk <user>. You will thoroughly follow your target until you discern their entire Role PM.

Every evening, you may Arrest <user1> and <user2> at <district> Jail. You will send both of your targets to jail at the district of your choice, effectively forcing them to move to that district for the next cycle instead of their desired choice. This action can target users in any district.

You are hard to take down. You will survive any attempts at your life during Nights 1 and 2.

You are alone in this conflict. You win if you eliminate all threats.
I see no path for the Red Rhinos to win now, so I am calling this game in favor of the Lavender Lions.

The village had a chance to the end until nobody decided to move to Village Villa, which means they would not have been able to vote out one of the remaining mafias the following day.

Remaining Role PMs:

Dear Group,
You are the Lavender Lions.

You are the remains of a once proud political party. Recently the Red Rhinos have become the popular party in town and you can’t stand that. To make up for your smaller numbers, you’ve started bending the rules and using unscrupulous means to advance your goal of taking back the city.

Your members are:

a fairy - Kidnapper
HydrogenHydreigon - Judge
bluedoom - Graverobber
M2H - Security Guard

As a team, you can kill on non-consecutive nights by having one member send Kill <user>. If more than one kill is sent, all kills will fail. Additionally, once in the game, during the day, one of you may send Rigged Election. Whoever sends this action will automatically win their election and become their district’s representative for the cycle. Lastly, you may always communicate with each other as if you were in the same district.

You are allied with the Lavender Lions. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear a fairy,
You are the Kidnapper.

You are not afraid to make a situation uncomfortable if it will be worth it. You have used your trusty pistol to hold people hostage in order to get your demands met. Your skillset is a perfect match for the Lavender Lions in this conflict.

Every night, you may Kidnap <user>. You will force your target to do your bidding for you the next night. You will learn how many targets their action uses, and the next night, can send targets for their action. They will target who you instructed and you will receive any results they may have received that night. If they are unable to target whoever you intend, their action will fail, but you will still receive their results.

You are allied with the Lavender Lions. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear HydrogenHydreigon,
You are the Judge.

You are a leader of the justice system who has felt a little undervalued since his political party fell out of favor in the City. You let your friends off light and bring the hammer down on your enemies. You will be assisting the Lavender Lions in this conflict.

You will be protecting your fellow criminals in this conflict. At night, you may Probation <user>. You will protect your target from all actions targeting them. However, you’re not silly enough to challenge a murderer, so your target will not be safe from any killing actions.

You are allied with the Lavender Lions. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear genisu,
You are the Photographer.

You love taking pictures of all sorts of people and places. You will let nothing get in between your chance for a perfect shot. As an ordinary citizen, you support the Red Rhinos.

At night, you may Photograph <user>. While taking your picture, you will determine who your target visited during the night.

You are allied with the Red Rhinos. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear Aura Guardian,
You are the Disc Jockey.

You’ve been working at the local radio station practically your whole adult life. You enjoy the relatively low hours, allowing you to have lots of free time for hobbies. As a public figure, you appreciate the work the Red Rhinos have done in making the city safer.

At night, you may Broadcast. Anything you include in the body of the PM will be posted publicly for everyone to see at the start of the next day.

Three times split between each day and evening, you may Dedicate for <user>. Anything you include in the body of the PM will be sent privately to your target instantly. You may target users in any district with this action.

You are allied with the Red Rhinos. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear pulsar512b,
You are the Pizza Guy.

You own and operate the best pizza shop in the city. You try to provide the best customer service to everyone to provide a memorable pizza experience. You support the Red Rhinos, as they have provided a stable economy for you to grow your business.

At night, you may Deliver to <user>. You may only deliver to someone in a different district than you. Anyone who receives a pizza will permanently increase their election vote by 0.5.

You are allied with the Red Rhinos. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Dear askaninjask,
You are the Auditor.

You are an accountant who does audits for the government. You try to keep the city running nice and smoothly. You appreciate the work the Red Rhinos have done in simplifying lots of the laws and regulations of the city.

At night, you may Audit <user>. You will determine how many votes your target received in the previous day’s election.

You are allied with the Red Rhinos. You win if you eliminate all threats.
Congrats again to the Lavender Lions for winning, and I hope you all had fun playing this weird setup.

Gg all, this was a fascinating game. We fucked around for too long and ended up not having enough time. I had a blast for most of this, with the exception being the day I repped, which ended up being very frustrating in the end.

Well played esp to BD and AF.

What a fun game.

Really, genuinely lovely to play a game that brought forward a fresh mechanical concept. I greatly enjoyed sinking my teeth into the neighborhoods, how they interacted and the impact they played on the game. Starting with just three of seventeen in my opening district was fascinating, and many future subsequent cycles were incredibly fascinating to game theory through. The roles available to me/my team, and the roles we could interact with, were quite enjoyable, and added further to the complexity.

I had a blast interacting with basically everyone I got to interact with, and wish I could've interacted with more but I was always too happy to hand over Rep status to others. It was nice to have early cycles with limited space to interact, and it was fun to interact with the limitations that came with. My role almost felt negligible - I used it to "clear" myself to aska, then prepped it to ensure another Pulsar Pizza made its way to us. It's bizarrely fun to me to play almost mountainous in a game like this, though powerful rules in my teammates helped.

I feel bad, a bit, having won. I feel bad for like, pulsar and aska and jalmont who I just outright lied to their faces multiple times throughout. Even during my mafia NOC games, usually I either don't feel too bad or I get away with lie-by-ommission/deception via distraction, but this game (I suppose an OC trait) required a lot more actual lying. Weird to have a social games player who feels bad about lying, though.

I actually lost sleep this game. Literal hours across the final week and a half or so of the game, just wargaming in my head "what if jalmont doesn't send to this summit", "what if jalmont's bpv includes a vote", "what if HH is implicated by Cel's flip", "how will the NOC cycle go", et cetra. Not many games do this, even when I play mafia, so that was an interesting surprise!

I'd hope to see something like this again. I dunno how, maybe just run the same structure again with new roles or re-evaluate the structure and make tweaks. The idea that you can only talk to specific people is fascinating and I had a lot of fun, even if I probably greyed a few hairs over how the game was going. I think I did well, though!

Good game, everyone.

I liked the change-up in who we could talk with, too, because it virtually shredded the standard town leader thing. That was the bane of OC games pre-revival, and this handily stopped that. Only major thing I'd change about that is bringing things closer together (reducing districts) when there's fewer people.

It was fun, though I think my specific power may have boosted that a bit. Shoulda done all I could to get HH voted after the real doctor claim came to light. Or after Genisu caught him using his power when he shouldn't have.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda. Mafia earned this.

Well played.

Well played all. I thought that was a really fun setup and I liked how we had to figure out how to play it during the game itself. And I liked how it made it so many people got to control information instead of town leaders. Some people felt left out which was unfortunate and hopefully we could minimize that. But I liked the rules overall. Thanks for hosting!
