Bisharp must be OU

Introduction

Hi smogon, sup?
This is my next RMT, now in the UU-Metagame.
This Team is rather succesfull, and it is based around Bisharp, in my opinion one of the best UU pokemon ever.
Bisharp is the only full offensive Pokemon, but the team is not stall, it is very balanced.
Now, enough talking, the teambuilding process:

The first slot was set for rhyperior.
He is the physical tank I need, and set up rocks.

464.gif

The next slot was the MVP, Bisharp. He destroys teams in one turn, and is my deadly physical sweeper.

Next, Slowbro was the choice to wall things like Scrafty, and as the choice to cripple many things for Bisharps Sweep.
As a physical tank, he can take hits from physical sweepers and cripple them, recover the damage or hit back.

The next slot was set for Cofagrigus.
He is another physical backup-check for many things, and he is a good answer to stall (explanation in the sets), AND he cripple things with WoW.

So, after so much physical things, here comes a special tank/wall.
Empoleon walls very very much, and he tanks special attacks like a boss. *0*
After take a hit, he poisoned the attacker or the pokemon it comes as switch-In, or hit back.

So, here's the last slot. Roserade is my special attacker.
Before, CM Virizion was here, but it does not work, so I changed Virizion to Roserade.

Team in Depth-Analysis

Rhyperior @ Leftovers
Trait: Solid Rock
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 244 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk; -SAtk)
-Stealth Rock
-Rock Blast
-Earthquake
-Dragon Tail

Here's the tank and the SR-Set upper.
Rhyperior tanks physical Moves like a boss, even with only 16 Def EVs.
The Spread is too survive for example Earth Power from Nidoking (if I do not take another damage) and hit back with Earthtquake.
Rock Blast is to break Subsitutes, and is in my opinion superior to Stone Edge, because the ability to break subsitutes and hit many times with many crits ^^
Earthquake is standard, and Dragon Tail is to phaze and stop boosting.
Quite good member, he has the ability to check things like Heracross and hit back.

Bisharp @ Leftovers
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk; -SAtk)
-Subsitute
-Swords Dance
-Sucker Punch
-Iron Head

The Star of the team!
He destroys teams self-handedly, after one Swords Dance not much is safe from STAB Prio Sucker Punch or STAB Iron Head!
The given EV-Spread is standard, maxed out Atk to hit as hard as possible.
Leftovers are to regenerate a little bit of the subsitute-damage.
The Trait is awesome, if Arcanine or Hitmontop they can come in and reduce Bisharps Attack, the trait automatically boosts his Attack.
Subsitute is to avoid Status (Burn and Paralyse specific) and be save from every prio-move from faster threats.
Swords Dance is too boost his Attack to sky-high Levels, with 252 Atk and a adamant nature, Bisharp reaches 788 Atk after one Swords Dance.
Sucker Punch is standard, awesome Prio-Move, destroys really many things, if they don't resist.
Iron Head is here used over Low Kick or Brick Break, because the secondary STAB is very advantageous in my opinion, and the high flinchrate is very useful too, it let me hit Froslass for example, if I know that he use spikes or something and Sucker Punch do not work.
If I am faster than the enemy Pokemon, I can hit it with STAB Iron Head, and does not have to waste Sucker Punch's PP.
Best member from the team, without jokes.

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 248 Def / 16 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def; -Atk)
-Scald
-Psyshock
-Thunder Wave
-Slack Off

Here's the second physical tank, and my check to choiced-locked Heracross or something.
The givven EVs are standard too, it maxed out HP and defense, during the rest of the EVs are for the special Attack, to hit with Psyshock and Scald a little bit harder.
Scald has a nice burn Chance and distributed random burns on the switch.
Psyshock is better than Psychic, cause the Fight Pokemon in UU have weaker Defense stat and Roserade too.
Thunder Wave is used to cripple as many pokemon as possible, to give Bisharp a better Chance to sweep with Iron Head and boosting.
Slack Off is standard, it gives me a good recovery. Regenerator is self-explanatory ...

Cofagrigus @ Leftovers
Trait: Mummy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def; -Atk)
-Will-o-Wisp
-Pain Split
-Shadow Ball
-Magic Coat

Before I used here the defensive Set, TrickRoom Nasty Plot Cofagrigus was here, but it do not work well for me, so I changed it too defensive Grigus.
The EVs are standard, but the moves are a little bit otherwise, but it works very well.
Will o Wisp, Painsplit and Shadow Ball are standard.
But the last moves is here not Knock Off ore Haze, but Magic Coat.
I often see, that everybody want to poison Grigus, and with Magic Coat, I prevent this. If the enemy uses Froslass and lead with'em, I use Magic Coat, and Froslass taunt itself.
It has the surprise effect and works good. To describe one more time, how Grigus for me work:
If the enemy pokemon is Darmanitan, I know that he use Flare Blitz or something to hit Grigus. In that turn, I use Pain Split to recover the damage, and thanks to mummy, his ability is mummy to and Sheer Force is gone.

395.gif
395.png
395.gif

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SDef / 8 Def
Calm nature (+SDef; -Atk)
-Scald
-Ice Beam
-Toxic
-Roar

Now, meet the special wall and tank. As I already have said, Empo tanks physical and special hits thanks to his resistance like a boss.
If Empoleon take hits from (for example) Choice Band Azumarill, the switch-Ins is easy toxiced. The Split is to take special Attacks, and hit back.
Scald is already explained in Slowbros Set, it has a nice burn chance.
Ice Beam is to hit Flygon or something like that, Toxic is explained and Roar for Subsitute-Booster like SubKingdra.

407.gif
407.png
407.gif

Roserade @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 20 HP / 252 SAtk / 236 Spd
Timid nature (+Spd; -Atk)
-Sleep Powder
-Leaf Storm
-Sludge Bomb
-Rest

And now, the last member of the team. Roserade is awesome, it hits incredible hard with a Life Orb.
The Evs are to max out special Attack and Speed.
Sleep Powder is a cool Move, if enemys sleep either I can attack them, or I switch to Bisharp and build my subsitute up and boost.
Leaf Storm hits everything that not resist it very hard, and Sludge Bomb is the second STAB to hit things who were hit neutral and not drop the special Attack.
Rest is awesome with natural Cure, full recovery, and after one switch Roserade is woked up.

Conclusion

Yeah, that was my RMT. I hope you enjoy it!
I would appreciate any criticism you give, and if you like my team, you can luv'diskd it ^^
To see how I play with the team, here is one replay:

Hope you enjoy it, BYE!

I would run Low kick or Brick Break over Iron Head on bisharp. The perfect coverage outside of Heracross is too good to pass up, and Steel isn't a great attacking type.

I know you might not like to hear this, but Bisharp is the weakest link on this otherwise very solid looking team.

Firstly it contributes to the team's 2 biggest weaknesses: Fighting and Ground. With one half of your team resisting Fighting it isn't as big of a deal, but nothing on your team resists Ground and half of the team is weak to it.

Bisharp is really not hard to deal with in the majority of games, mostly thanks to it's attacks. Sucker Punch is rendered useless against any wall, as no wall is dumb enough to attack Bisharp. Any sweeper with Subsitute can also easily deal with Bisharp. Iron Head as it's second attack makes it easier for bulky Water types to phaze Bisharp, as Iron Head is resisted. Iron Head and Sucker Punch are also both resisted by Steel types, and since most Steel types are quite bulky there won't be much you can do to them. The replay you posted only proved my point, as Bisharp was phazed multiple times, and only did any real damage thanks to a flinch on Blastoise, who still then managed to Roar Bisharp out. Balanced teams are the only real chance Bisharp has to sweep, no well made offensive team will give your Bisharp any remote chance of setting up, especially thanks to Bisharp's typing.

The team is also quite slow since anything that outspeeds Roserade outspeeds your entire team, and only Bisharp has a priority attack. I think it'd be for the best to replace Bisharp with a Choice Scarf Flygon. Flygon is immune to Ground, and has a great speed stat backed by 2 great STAB attacks. It can clean up at the end of games thanks to Outrage/EQ and scout during early-mid game thanks to U-Turn.

I support everything PTJon7 said. Your team struggles a little bit too much against Steel types, as the only one you have that can harm them is Rhyperior, and without much offensive investments as well as Bronzong's levitate, you'll find yourself struggle a bit too much against these threats. How can we patch it? Well, Bisharp is NU in Pokemon Online for a reason... it's not very good, relying completely on prediction to work. It's not a High Risk-High Reward pokemon, it's a High Risk-Low Reward pokemon. Switch him out for Scarf Flygon, as PTJon7 said.

But you're still walled quite a lot by the likes of 'Zong, and your Roserade is dare I say very strange for Offensive Roserade. I do believe that Shaymin may work better for your team overall, due to higher speed, better bulk and better coverage. And you don't lose out on Natural Cure either. A Life Orb set can easily take Roserade's place, only losing out on a Dual Stab (But poison is a terrible offensive typing already). Also, due to the relative bulky state of your team, I do advise you to find room for Haze on a pokemon, and you don't really lose out on having it on Cofagrigus. Magic Coat is doable, sure, but you don't really mind hazards all too much as it is.

Aside from this, I think you have a pretty good all-round defensively oriented team. Good luck in the future.

I imagine that you're having troubles with Shaymin. Standard Life Orb Shaymin can hit every single Pokemon on this team for super effective damage with its coverage moves except for Cofagrigus, and that doesn't include Hidden Power. I also imagine other Specially offensive grass types like CM Virizion giving you trouble too as you have no direct counter to them and you have 2 walls that are weak to them. You need to work on your defensive core just a little.

You have a Cofagrigus/Slowbro/Empoleon/Rhyperior defensive core, making a majority of your team very sturdy stat wise. However, an alarming weakness to grass can be well abused and you really need to have that covered. I'd recommend replacing Empoleon and putting in a good grass counter that has good synergy with the rest of your walls.

Hmm, what about Togekiss? It resists Grass, Bug, and is immune to ghost; all types that would otherwise hit at least one of your walls for Super Effective Damage. I would definitely Replace Empoleon for Togekiss!

Cofagrigus can't take special hits that great uninvested so running Magic Coat doesn't seem to make sense. I'd put Haze in that spot so you don't get set up on.

Lol Bisharp was moved down to NU on PO. I agree with everyone else saying that it could be a million different more helpful things. As a sweeper, its bad speed, low basepower moves and typing that leaves it at the mercy of fighting types (the most dominant type in the tier) render it relatively useless in the UU tier. I've played almost 1000 UU battles and only once gotten swept by a Bisharp, which happened only after it scored a crit on my gligar.

If you still want to keep a sweeper with stab sucker punch, I'd give honchkrow a try. It has a better ability, very slightly better speed (this is actually quite handy against opposing bisharps) , better movepool and two immunities (one of which being ground of which you currently have no resists).

As for the rest of your team, you have a few holes I would consider patching up. The first is that your team is very weak to heracross, especially swords dance or banded heracross. Allowing one of the top 3 most common guys in UU to 2HKO your entire team (and actually OHKO everything that isn't cofagrigus) is somewhat problematic. I would replace cofragrigus with something that easily counters hera, like qwilfish (you'd get spikes support too) or maybe even gligar. Also, as I watch the replay you provided, I'm realizing you have somewhat of a sharpedo weakness as well (assuming they run EQ which your opponent didn't for some reason) but this can be helped somewhat with qwilfish as it can take a crunch or waterfall with easy, get off an intimidate and paralyze the sharpedo.

Another problem is that your empoleon set literally does nothing for your team other than look nice in the team preview. It provides an unnecessary fourth statusing move on your team, dishes out minimal damage with uninvested attacks and can only phaze, something countless other pokes can do better. The single poke in UU that it could potentially be handy for is kingdra. Kingdra, however, can be handled by swapping out slowbro for slowking and giving it dragon tail. As for empoleon, I'd replace it with snorlax or some other special wall.

You have some good ideas and if certain weak links are patched up, I think your team will turn out very nicely.

If you're really set on keeping Bisharp, then I would recommend making some changes. One of Bisharp's problems is it's poor attack coverage since it's usually stuck with just two attacks. Replacing Substitute with Low Kick and Leftovers with a Lum Berry could work, here are the changes:
Bisharp @ Lum Berry
Trait: Defiant
EVs: 52 HP / 252 Atk / 204 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk; -SAtk)
-Iron Head
-Sucker Punch
-Low Kick
-Swords Dance
To be honest this is just a theory, but it would help solve Bisharp's coverage problem. I totally understand if you want to keep Bisharp, it's just as important to have fun and play with your favorite pokemon as it is to have a well made team. Honestly as long as you play well enough you should be able to have success with this, or any, team.

EDIT: Another idea just occured to me: replacing Substitute with Taunt. This not only helps stop statuses coming Bisharps way but also stops pokemon from phazing you with Roar & Whirlwind. Just something to think about.

Went against this team today. Mud clicked scald instead of rest on my milotic and got swept that sharp bishop of yours. It's a really nice build and as Leary as people may be bisharp does it's job very well.

Bisharp to his job very very well for me, you do not believe but in ~60% of all the fights I have done Bisharp sweeps more than 2 Pokemon.
I will try Togekiss (specialy defensive) and give you the experience about it, but Bisharp must be in the Team, cause it is the Pokemon I build the team around.
It has only problems with Blastoise, all other Pokemon are nicely at least 2HKO'ed from SPunch or IHead (everything but Steel-Types, but if I try Low Kick that will be solved).

@PTJon: thx for the nice words, youre absolutely right.
I will try the set you post out. And thx for the idea with taunt, it sounds good.

@everyone else: thx for your help to!
