With a STAB Knock Off, strong priority in the form of Sucker Punch, and a rather unique ability in Defiant, Bisharp is a viable option for offensive teams looking to pressure opponents with entry hazards. Swords Dance enables Bisharp to turn into a rather threatening wallbreaker and potential sweeper. Iron Head is a strong STAB attack that hits a lot of the Pokemon in the tier for neutral damage. Iron Head also has a 30% chance of flinching your opponent, making Pokemon such as Primarina and Tangrowth think twice before staying in. Knock Off is an extremely useful move, and has solid base power. Knocking off common items such as Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots makes breaking down teams far easier in the long run. Sucker Punch is a powerful priority attack, and allows Bisharp in a pinch to act as a check to set up sweepers such as Scizor and Dragapult. Black Glasses are the preferred item of choice, as the power loss from Life Orb when using Dark-type attacks is negligible, and no recoil increases Bisharp's lifespan. Adamant is the nature of choice for this set, as Sucker Punch can often make up for Bisharp's rather mediocre base Speed.

Bisharp is most suited towards offensive teams that pressure the opponent through hazard stacking and double switches. Spikes Mew is a prime candidate when considering partners, as Mew is often able to get up multiple layers of entry hazards, while simultaneously preventing said hazards on your side of the field. While Defog users such as Corviknight and Skarmory can beat Bisharp, the turn gained by forcing them not to use Defog (or face a boosted Knock Off) is crucial for offensive teams, and must be capitalized on. Alternatively, VoltTurn users such as Zeraora and Dragapult work wonders with Bisharp, as the ability to force switches and gain momentum is the key to winning games, while also bringing in Bisharp safely. Bisharp can sometimes struggle to muscle through sturdy walls such as Tangrowth and Skarmory, so wallbreakers such as Hydreigon and Kyurem make for great partners. Lastly, Fighting-types benefit greatly from Bisharp's ability to check Psychic and Fairy-types, so Pokemon such as Urshifu, Hawlucha, and Kommo-o make for good choices.
