Why this set deserves to be on-site:
- This set provides a much more speed oriented Blaizken that makes excellent use of his 110 base SpA
- He has very good coverage with his dual fire/fighting STABs as well as throwing many opponents off guard
- Has sweeping potential with the right team and nature/evs
- A good wallbreaker, especially with many expecting a physical variant.
- This is also gives Blaziken a use outside of Ubers. Speed Boost has made Blaziken the first and only starter to reach Ubers. This set allows one to use him in OU or even UU.
- Has many tools on hand to dispose of threats that one may face.
- Hidden Power Grass can be used to hit bulky water and rock types, Swapert and Rhyperior respectively, where Hidden Power Electric can, also, hit certain waters such a Gyarados and even flying type threats.
- Hi Jump Kick provides the physical STAB. One may compare Blaziken to Infernape, especially with Close Combat. In exchange for 10 less accurate, Blaziken receives a 130 base power physical STAB that does NOT reduce the defenses of this already frail pokemon and no longer needs to rely on Superpower
- Expert Belt is preferred over Life Orb to preserve Blaizken's existence on the field due to his frailty.
- Focus Blast, despite it's accuracy, is also a reasonable choice to use. Blaizken has a limited special movepool and using Focus Blast would work well with the SpA EVs and provide STAB, however HP Grass would be the preferred choice.
- Best to use this guy as a wall breaker or as a lead to throw off opponents expecting a pure physical variant.
- It would be wise to use Blaziken with a team that has at least one "mage" on it in order to help with Blaziken's frailty, but that is only a recommendation.
- Life Orb CAN be used to provide consistent power despite the opposition, but Expert Belt is just overall better to life preservation, but with a good healer, it's plausible to run Life Orb.
- Pokemon with the ability to provide defense/healing support as well as removing possible threats will do well when teaming with Blaziken. An example of a good mage is the all too famous and popular Blissey.
- Moves like Wish will provide Blaziken with a way of preserving it for a longer period of time
- Pokemon like Jellicent would be an excellent counter here. It's dual typing completely walls Blaziken, bar HP Grass/Electric which is where having a Dark-type or Electric-type partner would come in handy
- Tyranitar could be a problem, but with the proper EV spread, one should easily outspeed T-tar and OHKO it with a STAB Hi Jump Kick (or Focus Blast if one opts to use this)
