Blissey is the premier special wall in the tier, having a fantastic HP stat alongside its high Special Defense stat. It acts as an amazing check to many strong special attackers that reside within the tier, such as Latias, Mega Diancie, Moltres and Porygon-Z. Seismic Toss is Blissey's main attacking move, dealing consistent damage to everything bar Ghost-types. Soft-Boiled is Blissey's recovery of choice, letting it consistently check the common special attackers in the tier. Toxic allows Blissey to cripple physical attackers and Ghost-types, as they trouble Blissey. Teleport allows Blissey to switch out last at the end of every turn, meaning it uses most special attackers in the tier as a momentum grabber. Heal Bell can be used on Stall teams, a style where Blissey is a staple, allowing it to heal itself and its teammates from status elements.

Blissey finds itself most commonly on Balance and Stall builds due to the great amount of utility it provides. Skarmory and Buzzwole are great partners, as together they check most of the metagame due to the combined physical and special bulk of the core. Alomomola and Quagsire are also commonly found as partners on stall for their ability to take on Pokemon like Infernape. Pursuit support to remove Ghost-types, like Scizor and Krookodile, are great partners, as most Ghost-types can take advantage of Blissey due to it not being able to hit them outside of Toxic. Fighting-type checks such as Moltres, Latias and Mega Altaria are great partners.
