Boltund finds a slight niche in NU as a wallbreaker and revenge killer, boasting a superb Speed stat and plentiful coverage options. However, Boltund's inability to get by Ground-types like Sandaconda and Piloswine and severe competition from other Electric-type wallbreakers like Jolteon and Rotom-F leave it unable to find a spot on the majority of teams. Fire Fang destroys Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Eldegoss, and Abomasnow as well as Rotom-F and Galarian Stunfisk. Psychic Fangs threatens opposing Fighting- and Poison-types such as Sawk, Gurdurr, Toxicroak, and Garbodor. Crunch is preferred as the last move, allowing Boltund to OHKO Rotom and weaken other Ghost-types such as Cofagrigus, Gourgeist-S, and Silvally-Ghost. Alternatively, Play Rough can be utilized to give Boltund a better matchup against Silvally-Dragon, Silvally-Dark, and Alolan Persian. Volt Switch is a notable mention that allows Boltund to function as a pivot and establish offensive momentum.

Boltund struggles to get pass bulky Ground-types like Sandaconda, Piloswine, and Silvally-Ground, so Water- and Grass-types such as Wishiwashi, Silvally-Water, Flapple, and Abomasnow are appreciated. Wishiwashi, Silvally-Water, and Flapple can also provide pivot support, allowing Boltund to safely enter the battle. Special wallbreakers such as Nasty Plot Toxicroak and Choice Specs Indeedee-F complement Boltund by pressuring physical walls such as Garbodor, Sandaconda, and Cofagrigus; in return, it can revenge kill their checks such as Silvally-Flying, Rotom, and Rapidash. Entry hazard support from setter such as Garbodor, Ferroseed, and Sandaconda softens foes, enabling Boltund to better wallbreak.

Boltund finds a solid slight (it's awful) niche in NU as a wallbreaker and revenge killer, boasting a superb Speed stat and plentiful coverage options. However, Boltund's inability to get by Ground-types like yada yada and severe competition from other Electric-type wallbreakers like blah leave it unable to find a spot on the majority of teams. Fire Fang destroys Grass-types such as Ferroseed, Eldegoss, and Abomasnow as well as Rotom-F and Sivally-Steel Galarian Stunfisk. (Volt Switch should probably get a sentence down here)

Boltund struggles to get pass bulky Ground-types like Sandaconda, Piloswine, and Galarian Stunfisk Silvally-Ground (2HKOed by Fire Fang), so Water- and Grass-types such as Wishiwashi, Silvally-Water, Flapple, and Abomasnow are appreciated. Wishiwashi, Silvally-Water, and Flapple can also provide pivot support, allowing Boltund to safely enter the battle. Special wallbreakers such as Nasty Plot Toxicroak and Choice Specs Indeedee-F complement Boltund by pressuring physical walls such as Garbodor, Sandaconda, and Cofagrigus; in return, it can provide valuable speed control against revenge kill their checks such as Silvally formes (probably should specify which one(s) because this isn't always the case), Rotom, and Rapidash. Entry hazard support from setter such as Garbodor, Ferroseed, and Sandaconda softens opposing foes, enabling Boltund to better wallbreak.
