Announcement Bonne nuit

Stall takeover has ended unfortunately.

I am stepping down from National Dex Leader, with Runo taking my place as the community leader in charge of National Dex Other Tiers, congrats! It has been a lot of fun contributing to National Dex, but with my time and motivation to contribute getting more and more limited it is time for me to pass the torch now, especially since I haven’t been able to meet the expectations I’m setting for myself as a leader for a bit now. Runo has been an amazing contributor to NDOTs for a while, and i don't think him taking over the section is a surprise to anyone that knows how dedicated he is.

I wanted to express my gratitude to everyone I’ve met on this website. You are the reason why it was a fun time in the first place! Whether I got to know you well or not, either people that I now consider to be my friends or people I just bumped into on the ladder and everyone in between, it was a pleasure, sincerely. I’m very bad at shoutouts and I only got limited time so to make sure I don’t forget anyone so you’ll only get this spoiler that actually tags/names 0 people and might still forget about people. Yes, this might be perceived as cheesy and "cringe" (whatever that word ever meant), but i honestly don't care this is my quitpost and i do whatever i want with it

To the dear friends I’ve met on this website

To the NDOT communities, who amazed me with their dedication and passion for their formats, even though thorough their history they had to deal with adversity. I’m optimistic though, and I can tell you that NatDex’s situation in general very clearly improved over the years, and the weird stigma around modded formats you could see from time to time on various places definitively is on its lowest it has ever been imo. Times can be tough, but the future is bright, i'm convinced of it

To people from the National Dex community in general, which I would have too much to say to to fit on this post xd
Generally I mostly keep a positive memory of my stay in the community. It has been a fun ride, and I sincerely appreciated the time I spent there, and this is thanks to you all o7 Sometimes things went well, sometimes a bit less, sometimes some of you really pissed me off and I’m sure sometimes I pissed a bunch of you off a lot too, but in the end i keep a positive memories of my stay, and i hope you all will too

To my partners in crimes in teambuilding/shitmon/shit concept theorycrafting sessions

To the fellow nerds that talked to me with passion about their favourite tier - I wish I got more time to play these tiers - or more generally pple I got to be nerds with, talking about Pokemon or exploring niche tiers with them

To everyone that contributes and contributed to the tech side of things on PS and Smogon too, essential yet incredibly under appreciated work

To shitposters (When they don’t overdo it >:[ )

To Senior Staff and Upper Staff, even though there is a lot I very strongly disagree w/ how things are done on both sites, I think some issues are overblown, and I can testify myself that there is much more meaningful reasoning put into decisions than given credit for. I will not get too much into it, aside from stating that it should not be forgotten that even people in power are most of the time just people like anyone that often just try to do what they think is the best thing to do. Not every decision will be perfect, and some decisions might even be bad, but that’s something you should expect from humans decisions in general: there is nothing fun about trying to take an unpopular decision, especially when you know a backlash is coming, but if you believe you have to do it then it’s just part of the job. I’d like to express a metric ton of respect for all the effort put by the SS / US team into running both sites, despite often only getting noticed when uncool things happen. I'm glad i had the opportunity to work with all of you, even though the topics at hand were often not very fun I'm grateful for all the effort you put into making constructive discussion happen and progress even though we sometime disagreed on things.

If i may give a parting advice that i hope won't sound too presumptuous: don't forget we are all here to have a fun time, and i think most things we do on this website should be done toward that goal in mind. It's sometimes easy to get lost in the sauce with some considerations that in the end might not matter: when playing or contributing regularly starts to feel like a chore it might be time to stop. It's all natural to care a lot about a hobby - even when it's just Pokemon! - but don't forget yourself in the equation. It might sound like a very Well Duh advice but people forgetting about this is unfortunately a much more common occurrence than you'd think, and i've myself been there at times too.

Anyway, too much yap in this post, you got the point. Thank you for everything o7 I will stay for a bit as a senior staff to make sure the transition happens smoothly, however i'm already stepping down from my position of CL

ok

You were a great leader R8, thank you for your dedication to leading pretty much all of nd as a whole over the years and being the main driving force to ND and how it is seen today. The retirement is well deserved.

Congrats to Runo on CL! ND’s greatest Lower tiers advocate is now in his rightful place and I know you’ll lead NDOT’s in the right direction.

D: Runo will have pretty big shoes to fill. Hopefully we can still get together and burn down the kitchen. Hope things are on an upwards trajectory and you get to enjoy some stress free stuff. Going to miss having you as a leader and you've done an amazing job, particularly w Ubers. Can't believe you're leaving us here w Adem though. You know what you've got to do before fully retiring.
