BOOM!

Hello! I'm still new (Kinda if you just include post count although I've been reading and lurking threads for ages o,o). Anyways, Here is my doubles team for WIFI and i thought I should go for some criticism. Don't hold back.

Zen Headbutt
Explosion
Thunder Punch
Earthquake

This guy is mainly here to explode immediately. However, if there is a ghost type on their side, then a STAB Zen Headbutt. If they have rock/steel, then an Earthquake. Focus Sash should make sure it survives first round if attacked by an opponent capable of OHKOing it.

Grass Knot/?
Follow Me

Clefable is a support pokemon for Metagross. Since metagross is almost certain to survive first round ( unless there's weather effects) , follow me make sure he survives the second round. It is unlikely a pokemon can KO both these pokemons. Protect is to allow Clefable to block against earthquake and explosion

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These are my two lead pokemons. Basically , if my opponent leads are both weak to explosion, then metagross explodes immediately while clefable protects. However, although this does happen often, there are always the times where there is a ghost type out or something that is resistant to Explosion. In this case, I use follow me on clefable (unless the opponent has fighting type) and proceed to kill whatever necessary through my metagross. I am iffy on the move grass knot though. So if there is a better move, tell me!
Protect
Magnezone works a little bit like metagross. However, it has a mutual relationship with Mismagius. With its magnet pull, it keeps pokemon in from getting out of Perish Song. Protect helps keeping it alive. Hopefully after perish song, the steel types resistant to explosion will be defeated. Or explosion if nothing resists it.
Perish Song
Pain Split/Shadow Ball
Protect/Confuse Ray?
Taunt
Taunt for anything that needs to be taunted. Pain split is kind of like a filler move, but could come in handy for some healing. Perish Song is meant to work with Magnezone's magnet pull against steels. I am iffy on whether to put Protect or confuse ray . Confuse ray will help magnezone survive better while protect helps Mismagius. I am leaning towards confuse ray though.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Magnezone and Mismagius are meant to work together. Perish Song if I cannot kill with Magnezone's explosion, vice versa. I think it's somewhat self explanatory. Although, Taunt and Thunderwave is kind of like a filler that I think will come in handy sometimes.

Gyarados@ Leftovers

156 HP/ 108 Atk/ 100 Def/ 144 Spe

Dragon Dance
Waterfall
Stone Edge
Protect

This Gyarados was about taken straight out of smogon analysis. With Protect, it can switch in almost anytime with any pokemon. Dragon Dance, waterfall, and stone edge are basics for it to do some attacks.

Spiritomb@Leftovers
Modest
252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA

Protect
Calm Mind
Hypnosis
Shadow Ball

Same as Gyarados, this pokemon is made so that it can switch in (hopefully) at any time. Hypnosis helps putting some annoying pokemons to sleep. Calm Mind + Shadow ball for some attacking. I'm not sure at the moment if I should keep Protect, but it seems to be useful enough.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These remaining two pokemons are for switching in whenever needed. It's obvious that I will not always get by desired combination of pokemons but these pokemons should fit in quite well.
Anyways, Here my team as of now and hopefully it will become better! Thanks for reading the whole post :P ( I hope)
Based upon your wording, I am under the impression that you plan on exploding with Metagross first turn and then surviving with focus sash? If so, know that Explosion / Selfdestruct make the user faint regardless of whether they are holding a Focus Sash or not.
i like how the double team synergy is working but im not an expert on that stuff so thats all I'll say on it.
seconding TheForgottenSoul, it seems like you think you;ll live explosion with focus on your metagross. also why psychic on metagross? if you really want a psychic move go zen headbutt, but meteor mash and earthquake is better IMO. this would allow more lengevity 'till he explodes without a def drop.
i dont know about grass knot on clafable, unless you find it works better in battle tower find something consistently reliable like ice beam or thunderbolt.
mismagius is cool with taunt and obviously protect for perish stall but hes quite slow so you dont want to be taunted (not that battle tower comps will) but shadow ball seems more useful here.
Ah, no i did not mean that. Sorry for misunderstanding. I merely mean that if my opponent has a strong enough move to OHKO me and is faster then me (E,G maybe a Digtrio's earthquake?) , then I will survive that first attack and still be able to pull off explosion.
Thanks for reply! Anyways, I changed psychic to Zen Headbutt. I seem to have forgotten about that move completely! I considered meteor mash on Metagross, but i do believe that i have a better chance of killing the pesky ghost types that are resistant to my explosion with Zen Headbutt. Atm, i'm not sure if Shadow ball or Pain Split is better so I'll have to test shadow ball before i Make it final.
Why do you have protect on Mismagius (a ghost type) with the stated purpose of guarding against explosion (a normal type that ghost is immune to)?
Swap that out for shadow ball and keep pain split.
Don't feel like doing a full rate right now, so I'll just point out some things.
First, Metagross is pretty bulky so unless you're facing down a Typhlosion's CSpecs Helping Hand full strength Eruption in the sun or something you're not going down first turn easy, and given that you resist opposing Explosions, I don't really see the point of Focus Sash. Something like Life Orb would be better. For these same reasons, I think you can get rid of Protect as well; I would replace it with Thunderpunch so you can hurt most Damp pokemon that switch in to stop Explosion. Zen Headbutt's also kinda meh; I'd rather have Bullet Punch to waste Froslass or to help out against TR teams.
I'm not really feeling your Clefable lead, to be quite honest. The problem is that your lead really can't do anything to stop an opposing lead from setting up TR or Rain Dance or whatever, given how slow Metagross is. Have you considered running Mismagius as your lead in Clefable's stead? Or, better yet, a Gengar in that slot? He is immune to Explosion and Earthquake, can learn Energy Ball or Thunderbolt to take down Damp pokemon, can provide a fast Taunt on the enemy while being immune to Fake Out, and can himself Explode. Cliche, I know, but I could really see it working here.
I honestly don't think you'll have time to pull off the whole Perish Song thing, and keeping in mind that most pokemon that try to switch will not be Steels, many steels can kill your Magnezone (Lucario, Metagross, and Heatran spring to mind), the opponent can double team your Magnezone, and that Rock and Ghost pokemon resist Explosion anyway and will likely be switched in, I see the whole Persish Trap strategy to be pretty weak. I'd rather have something like Heatran who can Explode but also massacre Steels and such with Heatwave or something.
There's more stuff but I gotta go now. Oh, and maybe consider running Tyranitar, as the Sandstorm will negate Focus Sashes and she resists Explosion, but it puts you at a big ground weak.
Yay :P I love this reply :)
Anyways, Life Orb was switched onto Metagross and Protect was taken out. I still prefer Zen Headbutt as a Ghost type pokemon's immunity to explosion is not welcomed.
As for Clefable, I really do prefer it over , say, Gengar. The main reason is due to Follow Me. Without it, (Perhaps I am giving too much credit to ghost pokemons), Moves like Fake Out, Will o Wisp from a Ghost type proves to be a big threat to my Metagross.
As for the Perish Song Strategy, Although it doesn't normally kill pokemons, it forces them to switch. Allowing my Magnezone to explode at will. I do agree it is somewhat weak though...
