Booya! Monotype Water Team

260.gif

Swampert @ Damp Rock (Lead)
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 240 HP / 216 Def / 52 SpD
Nature: Impish [+Def, -SpA]
-Earthquake
-Stealth Rock
-Waterfall
-Rain Dance
This pokemon acts as my physical wall. Yes, I know he only has 90 defense, but to me it's plenty. Also, he's to help my team against it's weakness to electric. It sets up rain and stealth rock, then comes back since I'm hoping he'll be able to live two hits. And I have some special defense ev's just so he can maybe live more than one special attack if he's lucky.

Rotom-W @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Nature: Modest [+SpA, -Atk]
-Thunder
-Hydro Pump
-Rain Dance
-Will-O-Wisp
Rotom is always great for this team, since he has hydro pump and thunder which completely destroy. He also has will-o-wisp to weaken physical attackers, along with rain dance for another person to set up rain. He is very powerful, but I want to keep him alive longer, so I put on leftovers instead of choice specs. I like kingdra with specs anyway.

Kingdra @ Choice Specs
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Nature: Timid [+Spe, -Atk]
-Surf
-Hydro Pump
-Dragon Pulse
-Draco Meteor
This comes almost straight from the smogon database with a few changes in the EVs. The idea is to come in on a predicted low damage move, then tear the opponent to shreds. Hydro Pump and Draco Meteor are better for early game playing since they can OHKO most pokes, and surf and dragon pulse are better for later game since they have 100 accuracy. It depends on what switches in to decide which to use too.

Kabutops @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Nature: Adamant [+Atk, -SpA]
-Swords Dance
-Waterfall
-Aqua Jet
-Stone Edge
This poke is the physical attacking swift swimmer. Waterfall is STAB, Stone Edge is STAB, Aqua Jet is STAB and priority, and swords dance is for extra power. This poke can sweep hard. Also, it's nice to have a poke with priority.

Ludicolo @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
EVs: 252 Spe / 252 SpA / 4 HP
Nature: Timid [+Spe, -Atk]
-Ice Beam
-Hydro Pump
-Giga Drain
-Rain Dance
Ludicolo is here to take advantage of swift swim. Ice Beam is for dragons and grass, Hydro Pump is powerful and STAB along with rain boosted, Rain Dance is for another rain dance supporter, and Giga Drain is to get back some health if I need it because of life orb. Also, I can't think of anything better than giga drain.

Empoleon @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpD / 4 Def
Nature: Calm [+SpD, -Atk]
-Scald
-Protect
-Ice Beam
-Aqua Ring
Empoleon is my special wall, and does a good job at it. It has a good chance to burn someone with it's STAB scald. which can be good for pokes targeting it's weaker defense stat. Protect-Aqua Ring is a good set, but I was thinking about replacing aqua ring with roar, though it is nice to have some health. Ice Beam is for dragons, since this poke is mainly here for them. Also, this thing can live a modest, specs draco meteor from latios. It would only take around 39.5% to about 48.6% damage.

About the only thing that could help would be ice beam. I suppose I could put ice beam on there, but I'll think about it a little bit more.

For Kingdra, try:

- Draco Meteor
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Electric] or [Grass]

That should give him a little more variety.

Except Drizzle's nowhere to be found on this team. Do you see a Politoed? I sure as hell don't.

This team can make use of the opponent's Drizzle, since it's so common. When that happens, there's nothin' but victory.

I think you'll find dragons running through your team when the rain isn't up. I'd suggest adding a defensive empoleon or somebody that can take strong outrages. The set kingdra is running works just fine. Adding ice beam or a hp won't add very much to coverage. It's also nice to have more reliable stabs if you're gonna stay in for a while.

Would empoleon be any good? It resists dragons and has ice beam

try a rest set on milotic with
rest
sleep talk
dragon tail
scald/surf

rest provides more physical bulk and scalds chances of burn gives u same bulk when ur awake

just letting you know you should make your ludicolo more defensive beacuse your kingdra in allready doing what your ludicolo is doing but better. Also i suggest give your kingdra a life orb instead of a choice specs beacuse your kingdra will probally try to sweep and if someone figures out your speced they will switch into something to resist the move then its a obvious switch,i actually reccomend for your kingdra you switch choice specs for expert belt or life orb, then i have a set you for your ludicolo wich might come in handy.(oh and your team is mostly special attackers so if you were to say allready have kabutops and swampert KOed then you would get walled by a special wall like blissy)

DDR (Ludicolo) (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spd
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Drain Punch
- Seed Bomb/giga drain
- Toxic/waterfall
- ThunderPunch

This set can help out out beacuse you can do some decent damage aginst special walls with toxic and if its a blissy, drain punch and i have rain dish instead of swift swim beacuse this set was sorta just like kingdras(offensive with special moves and it has the exact same ev spread).

oh and one more thing...thought you might want these...

You get more coverage here, Hidden Power destroys Ferrothorn, who otherwise walls you.
