Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
I have some things to say here. Firstly, could you remove Drought from your base Pokémon? Keep in mind these are starters, so it should have Overgrow as the first ability. And for the mega, I’m quite worried that it’s too strong. With Grassy Glide, it’s extremely strong, even without anything to boost it like LO or Choice Band. But, it has Swords Dance, so if it pulls of a sweep, it’s very threatening, even with a x4 Ice weakness. I’d recommend removing Swords Dance so it doesn’t have a good move to to set-up, or remove Grassy Glide. You also need to add Height and Weight.
This is wrong. Just because the entire line learns it, doesn’t mean the branched evolution will. If you remove a move from the branched evolution that the whole entire evolution line learns, it disappears from it’s movepool and becomes illegal on it. So don’t worry about your branched evolution having a powerful move, because you can always just remove it. (Sorry if I sound rude here.)
So, basically making exception to the “move learned by earlier stage also applies to evolutions” rule if necessary to make balancing easier for submissions? I will make the Mega of Tankurtoise a bit more specialized without having to worry about Shell Smash by putting it into Removed Moves, then.
And no worries, you don’t sound all that rude and I should have known better in the first place. Thansk for clarification though!
I know this is a one liner, but I would like to remind you guys that Mega Evolutions are required with your submissions. I accidentally didn’t say “you must” instead of “you can”. I’m sorry for that, and please add them while you can. Bye now! Submissions also end in a few hours.
New Moves: Stealth Rock, Mud Shot, Mud Bomb, Shore Up, Mud Sport Removed Moves: Sludge Bomb Flavor/Design: basically, Venusaur but without the poison, instead it shoots mud out of its mouth, wich is highly benefitial for this pokemon's skin.
Competitive Description: This pokemon is supposed to be used in a rain team, along with your water types, to tank Electric type moves. additionally, Shore Up gives it reliable recovery.
Name: Vinoil-Mega Typing: Grass/Ground Height: 2.4m Weight: 155.5 kg Abilities: Sheer Force Stats: 80/103/130/122/120/70 (default venusaurite boosts.)
Competitive Viability: Sheer Force attacker with reliable recovery and great defensive capabilities. self-explanatory.
New Moves: Dazzling Gleam, Play Rough, Moonblast, Moonlight, Misty Explosion, Spirit Break, Aromatherapy, Slack Off Removed Moves: Petal Blizzard
Flavor/Design: Evolving from Ivysaur, it becomes somewhat slimmer and longer, with the bulb turning into a large fushia flower shaped like a typical fairy. The skin also becomes lighter. Competitive Description: Aromatherapy support with no worries of the likes of Toxic, Burn, Sleep, Paralysis, Freeze, and stat decreases like Intimidate. Offset by double weakness to Poison (ironically) and average stats.
Flavor/Design: Faebulsaur’s flower split into a bouquet of fushia flowers, constantly moving like dancing fairies. The skin also have a more smoother appearance. Competitive Description: Anti-sweep with a near equally strong Attack and Special Attack, giving it plenty of tools for coverage. Special bulk did not improve, leaving it vulnerable against naturally strong Special Attacking threats.
New Moves: Aqua Jet, Liquidation, Hydro Pump, Water Pulse Removed Moves: Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock, Mud-Slap
Flavor/Design: Since Venusaur is a Venus Flytrap, Pitchasaur is a Pitcher Plant, another Carnivorous Plant. It's flower doesn't raise as much, and it becomes filled with water.
"Pitchasaur lies in wait, cloaked in tall grasses, its flower filled with water. When a Pokemon comes close to the disguised flower, it fires a torrent of water at the Pokemon."
Competitive Description: A powerful mixed attacker with strong Grass/Water moves, and beefy defenses. To counter this, it has 35 speed. It has Storm Drain so it could act as a switch-in for Water moves and gains +1 Special Attack, acting like Flash Fire Heatran. It can also set up a Leech Seed.
Typing: Grass/Water Height: 6'07" Weight: 290.7 lb Ability: Drizzle Stats: 90/105/120/135/120/55 (BST 625) Competitive Description: A Powerful rain setter/sweeper with Rain boosted Hydro Pump and good Grass STAB with Energy Ball and coverage with Earth Power.
Name: Lotusaur Typing: Grass/Psychic Height: wip Weight: wip Abilities: Overgrow/Unaware Stats: 100/82/83/100/120/40 (Removed 40 from Speed, Added 20 to HP and SpDef)
New Moves: Expanding Force, Aromatherapy, Psychic, Calm Mind, Trick Room, Dazzling Gleam (6) Removed Moves: Bulldoze, Earthquake, Outrage, Stomping Tantrum, Rock Climb, Earth Power (6)
Flavor/Design: The flower on Ivysaur's back has bloomed into a giant, beautiful lotus. It spends its days meditating, and is incredibly picky about where it stays. Over time they've formed a symbiotic relationship with Florges, with Florges creating flower gardens for Lotusaur to meditate in and Lotusaur giving off a lot of "flower energy" which Florges apparently likes Competitive Description: Lotusaur is a good Special Wall, with access to Unaware allowing it to ignore Calm Mind, Nasty Plot and Swords Dance boosts. It can become a set-up or Trick Room sweeper with Calm Mind or Trick Room respectively. Lotusaur has a lot of options beyond these two sets though; Aromatherapy allows it to act as a pseudo-cleric for its team, while access to dual screens and Toxic give it more supportive options to take advantage of. Unfortunately its average Defence means it can be easily killed by physical attackers; a special shoutout goes to U-Turn for hitting its 4x weakness to Bug-types and its paltry Defence, leaving it weak to a lot of the tier's main pivots
Name: Mega Lotusaur Typing: Grass/Psychic Height: wip Weight: wip Abilities: Psychic Terrain Stats: 100/82/123/120/160/40 (Added 40 to Def and SpDef, Added 20 to SpAtt)
Flavor/Design: Mega Lotusaur is now in a state of enlightenment, with the lotus on its back glowing and overflowing with psychic energy. Its said to be able to read the auras of those around it, and will lash out at those surrounded by negative energy. There are myths about the lotus' petal being a cure for all illnesses, but anyone who approaches Mega Lotusaur to try and steal a petal is never heard from again Competitive Description: With an added 40 to its Defenses, Mega Lotusaur's Special Defence now matches Deoxys-Defense's while still being able to hit hard with Calm Mind + Expanding Force. Unfortunately, due to its Mega Stone being required for it to set Psychic Terrain, it only has 5 turns of Expanding Force use, after which it becomes a lot less threatening, and without Trick Room it won't be outspeeding many threats. Additionally it still drops to a lot of physical attacks, especially U-Turn, and Synthesis is slightly lacklustre when it comes to recovery. Despite these flaws Mega Lotusaur is still a potent Special Wall/Sweeper, with Dazzling Gleam allowing it to destroy Dark-types and Giga Drain allowing it to recover large chunks of health while still dealing damage
Name: Geosaur Typing:
Height: 2.0 m Weight: 135 kg Abilities: Overgrow / Sand Rush (HA) Stats: 80/110/100/83/82/70 (525)
New Moves: Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Power Gem, Meteor Beam, Smack Down, Rock Throw, Ancient Power, Rock Tomb, Rock Polish Removed Moves: All Poison Moves except Poison Powder, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Toxic and Venoshock
Flavor/Design: The flower on Geosaur would be a fossilised flower and it would be a more ancient amphibian. Competitive Description: Regular Venusaur is a sun sweeper, so Geosaur would be a more physically oriented sand sweeper and its STAB combination is really good.
Name: Geosaur-Mega Typing:
Height: 2.5 m Weight: 290 kg Abilities: Solid Rock Stats: 80/120/140/103/102/80 (625)
New Moves: Stealth Rock, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Power Gem, Meteor Beam, Smack Down, Rock Throw, Ancient Power, Rock Tomb, Rock Polish Removed Moves: All Poison Moves except Poison Powder, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Toxic and Venoshock
Flavor/Design: Same as its regular form. Competitive Description: Geosaur-Mega is a good defensive Pokémon with a decent defensive typing and an amazing ability
Electrosaur (Electro + Dinosaur)
Type: Grass Electric
Abilites: Overgrow, Compound Eyes (Hidden) Stats: 80/100/73/100/74/98 Total: 525 New moves:Thunderbolt, Thunder, Shock wave, Thunder wave, Zing Zap, Calm Mind
Removed Moves: Sludge, Sludge bomb, Venoshock, Poison Powder, Body slam, Fury Cutter
Flavor Description: Basically, Electrosaur has a huge tree that got shocked by lightning, and is now electrically charged by it. I'll admit i don't have much flavor for compound eyes, but i guess that electrosaur has increased eyesight from the lightning? idk.
Competitive Description: Not only do you have increased accuracy on thunder, you also have increased accuracy on sleep powder and thunder wave, which is pretty cool. But it doesnt stop there, increased accuracy leaf storm and power whip are there too. You also have 2 neat set up options to choose from depending on set, which are calm mind and swords dance
Mega Electrosaur
Type: Grass Electric
Ability: Multiscale New Stats: 80/135/83/135/84/108 Total: 525
Flavor Description: Its a cell tower now, as the result of the power of Mega evolution. I don't have much flavor for multiscale but maybe the cell tower scans the opponent, which enables electrosaur to take less damage. idk lol
Competitive Description: Multiscale makes it able to set up swords dance or calm mind sweeps more easily, and it has recovery in synthesis in order for it to get back Mutiscale. Thats about it really
Name: Treetode (Tree + Toad) Typing:
Height: 4.0 m Weight: 130 kg. Abilities: Overgrow/Grassy Surge Stats: 80 / 100 / 100 / 82 / 83 / 80 (swapped physical and special attack and defense and special defense and gave it +20 speed)
New Moves: High Horsepower / Scorching Sands Removed Moves: Leaf Storm / Solar Beam / Swords Dance / Grassy Glide Flavor/Design: Instead of it being a flower, it's a freaking tree. Flowers grow on Treetode's back and it grows a tail full of spikes, signifying that Treetode's back turned into a garden.
Competitive Description: Instead of being a fast special sweeper, it's technically the opposite, a defensive bulky physical attacker that can hit hard if you aren't prepared. Also good for sun teams!! For its mega evolution...
Name: Mega Treetode Typing:
(unchanged) Height: 4.4 m Weight: 185.5 kg. Abilities: Grassy Surge Stats: 80 / 122 / 120 / 100 / 123 / 100 Flavor/Design: It's now a full park on Treetode's back. The tree grows substantially bigger and there are even living mini-people on it! Some people just like to relax, play games, and some other activities! Competitive Description: The same sweeper as before, however it's hella beef'd up. Grassy Terrain basically just buffs you up a lot by giving you power to moves like Power Whip and Petal Blizzard, and if you don't get caught you might be able to perform a sweep!
Name: Venumoni (Venus + Flegmoní; Greek word for inflammation) Typing:
New Moves: Rage Powder, Fire Blast, Flamethrower, Ember, Flare Blitz Removed Moves: Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Venoshock, Poison Powder, Charm Flavor/Design: Venumoni would look like a Venusaur with slightly lighter skin, and it would have a Chrysanthemum flower on it’s back with pollen dust.
Competitive Description: Venumoni stands out as a very threatening sun sweeper, having a unique typing that heavily benefits from sun. It can also kind of be a support Pokémon in Doubles, since it has access to the rare move Rage Powder, and decent support moves.
Name: Mega Venumoni Mega Stone: Venumonite Typing:
Height: 7’10” (2.4m) Weight: 341.8 lbs (155.038 kg) Ability: Solar Power Stats: 80 / 88 / 88 / 125 / 125 / 119 (625 BST) (+6 Atk / +15 Def / +25 SpA / +25 SpD / +29 Spe)
Flavor/Design: Mega Venumoni would have slightly lighter skin than Mega Venusaur, and it would have a big blooming Chrysanthemum on it’s back, and it would have pollen dust floating around it.
Competitive Description: Sun abuser. That’s all there is to it. I might change the ability later on, but for now, it’s just a sun abuser.
New Moves: Draco Meteor, Slack Off, Heavy Slam, Pay Day Removed Moves: Air Slash, Hurricane, Acrobatics, Fly, Roost, Wing Attack, Dual Wingbeat Flavor/Design: Charmeleon became a dragon after yearning for that power for so long, but in doing so it had sacrificed the drive it once had and became lazy. Now Charlethar stands as a massive fatty red dragon that just lays in any hoard it can find. It will request is trainer to add more to its hoard, and will typically hoard the first thing it sees when it evolves. The only time this pokemon ever moves is if it finda an object it really wants to add to its hoard.
Competitive Description: It's a fat specially defensive fire type with recovery to aid it, and ability that allow it to take even less damage from fire moves and regain its ice type resistance. It also has decent attack stats to prevent it from being too passive.
Name: Mega Charlethar X Typing: Fire/Dragon Height: 9'06" (2.9m) Weight: 3500lbs (1134 kg) Abilities: Flame Body Stats: 124/105/135/105/135/30 [BST: 634]
Competitive Description: More of the same really but now with incredible bulk but the lack of stealth rock immunity thanks too the occupied item slot. It also gets Flame Body for the ability, because I didn't really know what else to put without making it unbearably overpowered.
Name: Mega Charlethar Y Typing: Fire/Dragon Height: 4'06" (1.37 m) Weight: 100lbs (45.3 kg) Abilities: Speed Boost Stats: 124/130/85/130/85/80 [BST: 634]
Competitive Description: Charlethar slims down for this mega and goes all out of the offenses. Thanks to its weight loss it now has the urge to go fast. Basically it's like a budget mega blaziken.
New Moves: Earth Power, High Horsepower, Rock Slide, Stealth Rock Removed Moves: Air Slash, Fly, Hurricane, Sky Drop Flavor/Design: Basically Charizard but with far smaller wings that stop it from flying high or well. As such, it has developped a sturdier body to protect itself against predators and the ability to dig well.
Competitive Description: Fire/Ground is an incredible type both defensively and offensively, as shown by Primal-Groudon in ubers. Base Charodo isn't gonna be OU viable, not with these stats. It does have some very nice defensive properties though, notably being a great counter to some Electric, Fairies and Steel types such as Tapu Koko, Mega-Scizor and Magearna (before it got banned). It might have a niche in UU or RU though, with its nice defensive typing, recovery, Stealth Rock and Defog.
Flavor/Design: Charizard-x but with smaller wings basically. Competitive Description: Bulky Dragon Dancer that should be able to get multiple boosts easily thanks to its good bulk and Magic Guard. With recoiless Flare Blitz, it has a reliable stab it can spam once it's boosted up. You could also run a more defensive set with Roost and Rocks or Defog.
Flavor/Design: Zard-Y but grounded. Competitive Description: Its better overall bulk allows Mega-Charodo-Y to check the same pokemons that base Charodo can check, but more reliably. It can counter usually very dangerous pokemon such as Kartana, Mega-Mawile and Volcarona in one team slot. Its Volt Switch immunity, U-Turn resistance and Rough Skin also means it makes pivoting more difficult. Its high special attack also lets it threaten counters switching in such as Landorus-Therian or let it make use or a bulky attacker set. Mega-Charodo-Y is, overall, a great bulky pokemon.
> Name: Charmodo (Charcoal + Komodo) Typing: Fire / Rock Height: 1.9 meters Weight: 92 kilograms Abilities: Blaze / Rock Head Stats: 84 / 100 / 78 / 85 / 78 / 109
New Moves: Head Smash, Stone Edge, Rock Throw, Rock Polish, Meteor Beam, Stealth Rock, Thunder Fangs, Psychic Fangs, Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Psyshock Removed Moves: Fly, Air Slash, Acrobatics, Hurricane, Dual Wingbeat, Heat Wave
Flavor/Design: Evolving from Charmeleon, it becomes quadruped, with the horns longer and the flame spreading to its spine, although the tip of the tail still have a more intense flame. Competitive Description: Fast setup sweeper with recoil-free Head Smash and Flare Blitz, offset by very bad defensive typing, low bulk and average Attack.
Name: Mega Charmodo X Typing: Fire / Psychic Height: 2.3 meters Weight: 115 kilograms Abilities: Strong Jaw Stats: 84 / 140 / 98 / 115 / 98 / 109
Flavor/Design: Charmodo’s skin become rockier and sharper, with the blazing spine making a spiked formation. Competitive Description: Exchanges comparatively less power without damaging itself for more immediate Speed and a more reasonable Special Attack for Meteor Beam. Bulk did not improved all that much, so it remained frail.
Name: Mega Charmodo Y Typing: Fire / Rock Height: 2.1 meters Weight: 104 kilograms Abilities: Sand Stream Stats: 84 / 100 / 78 / 145 / 98 / 129
Flavor/Design: Charmodo’s skin become smoother, but the burning spine let out red-hot sands that flies around it. The horns become smoother and longer as well. Competitive Description: Focus on setting Sand, and have better speed and benefit of Sandstorm. Stronger user of Meteor Beam than Mega Charmodo X, but can be restricted to Sand teams due to physical frailness being discouraging to stay for long and passive damage on teammates not having Ground, Rock or Steel.
Name: Charloong Typing: Fire/Fairy Length: 10'1" Weight: 30.2 kg Abilities: Blaze/Serene Grace (HA) Stats: 80/44/90/120/90/120(BST 534) New Moves: Psychic, Play Rough, Moonblast, Misty Terrain Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Steel Wing, Body Slam, Dragon Dance Flavor/Design: Based on Chinese dragons instead of European Dragons, Charloong is 10 feet long (Fun fact: Charloong contains the world long) and has those tendril things coming off of it.
Pokedex Entry
"It is said that if you witness this Pokemon evolving from Charmeleon, you will have ten years of good luck" Competitive Description: A very fast special attacker, with absolutely no physical attack, good defenses, and ok hp. It has Serene Grace with Air Slash and Psychic + Moonblast and some special fire move, so it can spread statuses and s t a t d r o p s !
Typing: Fire/Fairy Height: 15'2" Weight: 30.1 kg Abilities: Tough Claws Stats: 80/144/90/120/90/120 (BST 634) Competitive Description: You get +10 Attack and Tough Claws but no more DD :( You still hit pretty hard.
252 Atk Tough Claws Charloong Flare Blitz vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Blissey: 489-576 (68.4 - 80.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Typing: Fire/Fairy Height: 13'4" Weight: 30.4 kg Abilities: Clear Body Stats: 80/74/100/140/100/140 (BST 634)
Competitive Description: A powerful Special attacker immune to stat drops with Clear Body. Its faster than regular Char-Y, but hits less hard than Y. Its held back by not-so-good defenses, allowing a strong Stone Edge or Earthquake to probably knock you out, if you don't knock them out first.
Name: Charihaze Typing: Fire/Dark Height: 3'9" / 1.2m Weight: 220.5 / 100.5 kg Abilities: Blaze/White Smoke Stats: 78/109/68/84/75/120 (swapped Att and SpAtt, removed 10 from both Defences, added 20 to Speed)
Flavor/Design: Charmeleon's vicious nature takes a dark turn upon evolution; it spews a noxious black smoke at opponents and then attacks from behind. Design-wise Charihaze is far sleeker than Charizard, sporting a longer tail instead of wings. At the tip of its tail there is now a puff of smoke instead of Charizard's flames Competitive Description: Charihaze has access to some good supportive moves like Fake Tears and Parting Shot I guess. Could be a decent Toxic Spikes pivot with Parting Shot? I've balanced Charihaze mostly around its two megas, so most of the description will be there. As for moves, Dark Pulse is STAB, Fake Tears and Power Trip are mostly for flavour, Clear Smog could be kind of useful as anti-setup, Sludge Bomb is more reliable STAB for Mega Charihaze X than Venoshock, and Toxic Spikes is Toxic Spikes. Most of the removed moves are just Flying-type moves, but I've removed two important set up moves in Swords Dance and Dragon Dance in the interests of keeping Mega Charihaze X balanced. That thing was a nightmare to balance lol
Name: Mega Charihaze X Typing: Fire/Posion Height: 6'2" / 1.9m Weight: 309.7 / 140.5 kg Abilities: Merciless Stats: 78/99/118/94/125/120
Flavor/Design: Mega Charihaze X is far more malicious than its base form, taking the poisonous aspects of its smoke and turning it into venom. It takes on a more snake-like design, with venom dripping from its mouth. Its venom isn't fatal, but instead weakens its foes immensely, allowing it to defeat them while they're still suffering from its poisoning. Surprisingly enough, Mega Charihaze X's venom is an ingredient in some anti-blood clotting medicines Competitive Description: Mega Charihaze X might take on a bulkier stat spread, but don't let that fool you. Boosted Venoshock + Merciless crits makes this thing a monster in its own right, with STAB Fire Blast & Focus Blast allowing it to muscle past the Steel and Poison-types that are otherwise immune to poison. It needs to spread Toxic to actually deal damage though, which makes dealing with mons like Toxapex incredibly annoying. Its Fire/Poison typing is both a blessing and a curse; it allows it to murder opponents with STAB Venoshock and provides a nice set of resistances, but gives it a nasty x4 weakness to Ground-types in return
Name: Mega Charihaze Y Typing: Fire/Dark Height: 3'9" / 1.2m Weight: 243.6 / 110.5 kg Abilities: Magic Bounce Stats: 78/104/78/139/95/140 (removed 20 from SpAtt & SpDef, added 40 to Speed)
Flavor/Design: Mega Charihaze Y retains a lot of the same features as its base form, except now a noxious black smoke continiously billows from its mouth, similarly to Mega Charizard X's venom. Its scales have a curious property that allow it to bounce back status moves that would otherwise cripple it, and its smoke contains depressants that aid it in battle. During fights it often blows its smoke over the battlefield, causing its opponents to become light headed and lose focus Competitive Description: Fast glass cannon, punches holes in teams with its high SpAtt and outspeeds a lot of the unboosted meta with base 140 Speed. Magic Bounce lets it bounce back otherwise crippling Thunder Waves and Toxics, which is nice. It can't take much but it can dish it out, and with its high natural speed it can revenge kill then pivot out using Parting Shot
Name: Chardidry Typing:Fire/Ground
Height: 4'07 Weight: 100.5 kg Ability:Blaze
Hidden Ability:Dry Skin
Stats: 105/109/91/85/84/60 New Moves: Stone Edge, Drill Run, Morning Sun, Stealth Rock. Spikes. Removed Moves: Air Slash, Dragon Breath, Fly, Acrobatics, Dual Wingbeat, Hurricane, Dragon Dance, Wing Attack, Steel Wing, Dragon Pulse. Competitive Description: Chardidry is a bulky hazard setter that has a good matchup against many fellow hazard setters and defoggers. It has semi-reliable recovery in Morning Sun and a decent defensive typing that is made better by Dry Skin, which gives it a Water immunity.
Name: Mega-Chardidry Typing:Fire
Height: 6'07 Weight: 150.5 kg Ability: Victory Star Stats: 105/109/111(+20)/125(+40)/104(+20)/80(+20) Competitive Description: Mega-Chardidry becomes a special attacker that, thanks to Victory Star, has a wide arrange of powerful moves like Fire Blast and Focus Blast, that, while normally not very accurate, become significantly more consistent thanks to this ability.
Combatizard (Combative + Lizard)
Type: FireDark
Abilites: Blaze, Strong Jaw (Hidden) Stats: 78/100/78/84/85/109 (swapped its physical and special attack and then physical attack with speed) Total: 534 New Moves: Dark Pulse, Thunder Fang, Psychic Fangs, Taunt, U turn, Knock off, S
Removed Moves: Air slash, Dual Wingbeat, Fly, Roost, Hurricane, Wing attack, Defog
Flavor Description: Upon evolving Charmeleon into Combatizard, it doesn't get wings. Instead, it uses its dangerous fangs and claws to attack the opponent.
Competitive Description: It has 4 moves affected by strong jaw. Fire fang and crunch benefit most from this since they are also stab moves. Could be used as a dragon dance sweeper, or a belly drum sweeper too.
Mega Combatizard X
Type: Fire Dark
Ability: Intimidate New Stats: 78/110/118/94/115/109 Total: 634
Flavor Description: It looks a bit t-rex like, and it gets more spikes and marks. Idk I’m not good at designing stuff.
Competitve Description: Has cool utility moves like knock off, taunt, toxic, will o wisp, snarl, etc. Intimidate makes its already great defense stat even more useful. It’s speed is fast enough to outspeed opponents, and it’s higher bulk allows it to take more hits. Still weak to stealth rock tho
Mega Combatizard Y
Type: Fire Dark
Ability: Weak armor New Stats: 78/130/98/119/95/119 Total: 634
Flavor Description: Combatizard now as bones on its body it uses as armor. Its fiery tail is now in the shape of a scythe.
Competitive Description: I gave this thing crazy offensive stats, so i had to be careful with the ability. Weak armor makes it wary to physical attacks, but the speed boost enables more dragon dance sweeps.
Name: Charodile Typing:
Height: 1.9m Weight: 101.2 kg Abilities: Blaze / Rough Skin Stats: 78 / 104 / 88 / 99 / 75 / 90 (BST: 534) New Moves: Earth Power, Stealth Rock, Rock Slide, Stone Edge, Sand Attack, Mud Shot, Mud Bomb, Sand Tomb, Rock Blast, Ancient Power (+10) Removed Moves: Air Slash, Defog, Fly, Hurricane, Roost, Sky Drop, Steel Wing, Wing Attack, Dual Wingbeat, Ominous Wind (-10) Competitive Description: This form is kinda useless so check out the megas!!
Name: Mega Charodile X Mega Stone: Charodilite X Typing:
Height: 2.1m Weight: 124.1 kg Abilities: Stakeout Stats: 78 / 124 / 138 / 119 / 105 / 70 Flavor/Design: Has a bigass opened mouth with tons of teeth. It's also much more bulky and has scales comming out ala abomansow mega. Competitive Description: Hopefully balanced Stakeout user. 124 atk with no items is manageable even at +2 (esp considering one of this mon's stab is ground which can be ignored). Its also very slow so it can't really trap faster stuff. Still a threat.
Name: Mega Charodile Y Mega Stone: Charodilite Y Typing:
Height: 1.9m Weight: 168 kg Abilities: Sand Rush Stats: 78 / 164 / 108 / 109 / 95 / 80 Flavor/Design: Tubular croc. Kinda looks like Sandaconda in a way. Has rows upon rows of scale and a mega fire at the end of all. Competitive Description: Something cool for sand teams. Can maybe be played with Dragon Dance.
New Moves: Bullet Punch, Recover, Iron Head, Steel Beam, Metal Burst, Bulk Up, Superpower Removed Moves: Terrain Pulse, Shell Smash (permanently forgets it if evovled from a Wartortle with this move and cannot relearn it)
Flavor/Design: Wartortle becomes quadruped as it evolves, with the shell gaining a silver, metallic coat. The scales become even darker, and it have one big cannon that retract from the middle of the shell. Competitive Description: Basically Blastoise but with Steel-type and higher physical bulk. It can serve as a physical wall or set-up sweeper, though its Mega is preferable for the latter role.
Name: Mega Tankurtoise Typing: Water / Steel Height: 1.9 meters Weight: 211.4 kilograms Abilities: Long Reach Stats: 80 / 175 / 125 / 110 / 82 / 58
Flavor/Design: The shell now sprout an artillery cannon out, with the legs gaining sturdy shields allowing it to substain its additional weight. The scales become lighter in color tone. Competitive Description: Instead of relying on Shell Smash that caused Mega Blastoise to be banned from Natdex OU, Mega Tankurtoise go for something more interesting, something that Decidueye didn’t make full use off; balancing its strong defensive type and obscenely high boostable Attack by only having Long Reach which, while by itself is not impressive, help keep its power in check while also giving access to ignore all contact-punishing Abilities, Moves and Rocky Helmet. This allows Mega Tankurtoise to use Brick Break or Superpower to hit Ferrothorn without worrying about Iron Barbs and Rocky Helmet.
---> Name: Fortoise Type: Water / Steel Ability: Torrent / Heavy Metal Stats: 69 / 103 / 85 / 105 / 85 / 83 (BST: 530) Moves: Blastoise's movepool +Heavy Slam, Iron Head, Metal Burst, Metal Claw, Steel Beam, Swords Dance; -Dark Pulse, Focus Blast, Signal Beam, Terrain Pulse
New Moves: Iron Head, Stone Edge, Stealth Rock Removed Moves: Aura Sphere, Focus Blast, Dark Pulse Flavor/Design: Tungstoise are the most related out of all three of the branched starter, being a breed of Blastoise that slowly, over milennia, didn't need their cannons anymore and instead increased their shell strength. They walk on all fours, but can stand on two in case they want to.
"Tungstoise are a split breed from Blastoise, evolving to lose cannons and gain a tougher shell."
Competitive Description: A very bulky physical Stealth Rock setter, with immunity to stat drops, bouncing them back with Mirror Armor. You could run physical sweeper, or bulk with SRock. A true jack of all trades.
Typing: Water/Steel Height: 5'05" Weight: 124 kg Abilities: Iron Barbs Stats: 97/133/140/80/140/40 (BST 630)
Competitive Description: 97/140/140 is an absolutely insane stat bulk, and Iron Barbs that give you damage when someone hits you on contact. 133 Attack is also pretty good for a mainly bulky pokemon.
Name:Blastonoise Typing:Water/Fairy Height:7'3" Weight:112.5 kg Abilities:Torrent/Regenerator [HA] Stats:112/50/105/75/110/78
New Moves:Boomburst, Clanging Scales, Slack Off, Stealth Rocks, Dazzling Gleam, Draining Kiss Removed Moves:Dark Pulse, Aura Sphere, Power Up Punch, Shell Smash, Terrain Pulse
Flavor/Design: When wartortles grow old, their tails become longer and longer, reaching a point of evolution. Competitive Description:Blastonoise is a strong bulky wall/pivot with stealth rock setting potential, and a good defensive typing overall, the attacks it has gained are primarily for its mega, but the status moves it has gained are primarily for its premega form, which will likely be more viable.
Name:Mega Blastonoise Typing:Water/Fairy Height:9'3" Weight:130.5 kg Ability:Liquid Voice Stats: 112/130(+80)/115(+10)/95(+20)/120(+10)/58(-20) Competitive Description: Mega Blastonoise is a super strong Bulky Special Attacker, you might be surprised because of its low special attack stat, but Water type Boombursts hits insanely hard. Additionally it has clanging scales for cool synergy with Skull Bash the lines formerly signature move. The boon of fairy stab gives it an incredibly potent STAB Combo but it doesn't have any boosting, and its pretty slow so it has quite a few cons, but it hits hard, is bulky, and you could even run a defensive set on these stats.
Name: Mawtoise Typing: Water/Dragon Height: wip Weight: wip Abilities: Torrent/Swift Swim Stats: 79/105/83/100/85/78 (swapped SpAtt and Def, swapped Att and SpDef)
New Moves: Jaw Lock, Ice Fang, Psychic Fangs, Dragon Claw, Fire Fang, Snap Trap (6) Removed Moves: Avalanche, Dark Pulse, Fissure, Life Dew, Ice Beam, Water Spout (6)
Flavor/Design: Based on snapping tortoises, Mawtoise's shell cracks open into a set of jaws. It retains the fluffy tail from its previous evolution, now using it to bait prey into the mouth on its shell Competitive Description: A Swift Swim trapper with Jaw Lock, can trap passive mons to set up on them with Shell Smash then sweep. It also hits decently hard with 105/100 attacking stats, allowing it to function as a mixed attacker as well.
Name: Mega Mawtoise Typing: Water/Dragon Height: wip Weight: wip Abilities: Strong Jaw Stats: 79/125/93/120/115/108 (Added 20 to Att, SpAtt and SpDef, added 10 to Def, added 30 to Speed)
Flavor/Design: Its shell has now become sentient, elongating into the full head of a dragon. Again idk I'm blanking here lol Competitive Description: Mega Mawtoise has the highest Attack of all Shell Smashers, and with Strong Jaw it becomes a force to be reckoned with. After a Shell Smash, Adamant Mega Mawtoise with 252 Speed EVs hits an impressive 630, meaning it can outspeed well over half the meta. Unfortunately though, Mega Mawtoise is now unable to hold a White Herb, meaning it suffers from -1 to both defences and 0 means of recovery. This leaves it prone to being revenge killed. Burns and Paralysis also suck for it. Alternatively it could do something with Rapid Spin ig
Ultrafinder is the goat, thanks for doing the sub compilation.
Venusaur:ViZar without a doubt this is my favorite Venusaur Grass type sand rusher lets gooooo, Ultrafinder, Sam
Charizard:Gravity Monkey(I really like the art, and its designed very well mechanically), RoDG's Charlethar I'm a big fan of classic western fantasy and this is a good example of the concept of a dragon such as Smaug, Mossy Sandwich and his Charodo I have a problem but seriously though this one is super cool a bulky slower dragon dancer with magic guard, its very "dragony"
View attachment 338639 Typing: Grass/Water Height: 6'07" Weight: 290.7 lb Ability: Drizzle Stats: 90/105/120/135/120/55 (BST 625) Competitive Description: A Powerful rain setter/sweeper with Rain boosted Hydro Pump and good Grass STAB with Energy Ball and coverage with Earth Power.
Hey guys, this is the first time I'm subbing for Branched Potential a mod I've been hyped for quite a while and I'm glad it got approved.

Now since that’s over, it’s time to go into the discussion slate. In this slate, all you need to do is just discuss about the winners. This slate will last for one day. Have fun discussing! Also, feel free to call me out if I didn’t count votes right, cause I feel like something might be wrong.
- base form might find some use as a koko counter? idk man
stakeout sounds scary but managable. bring ur bulky waters
i do not like how the sand abuser is still weak to ground, but it can break through corv and ferro unlike most sand abusers so thats cool
Yeah Blastonoise is kind of insane. Better stats than Fini, regen and a ton of options. We’ll have to look at it closely, i think just removing regen for something like natural cure should be enough.

Ok, after a lot of discussion about Blastonoise, it no longer has Regenerator, and in exchange for that, it now has Natural Cure. Further de-buffs may need to happen in the future, but for now, this is the first one. Also, just a little reminder that custom elements are not allowed in this Pet Mod. Anyways, let’s get onto the next slate...
Slate 2
Remeber, since Beedrill and Pidgeot get a Mega Evolution, you must add a Mega to your submission! You have until May 22nd to submit. Remember to also look at the submission rules, and have fun!
I would refrain from doing it, because it’d end up in AG and not be playable (Unless we make an AG format) but if you would like to make one, you can!
Yeah after thinking about this, you can’t. If we were able to make G-Max forms, that means the past 3 submissions need to have one, and I think the creators of them wouldn’t like to do that. There would also be no use for them since they would be in AG, and not in National Dex OU. Sorry for the one liner here btw
Flavor Description: Icareagle is very obviously based on the Myth of Icarus. (Context: Icarus got wings, he flew too close to the sun, he fucking dies). Icareagles Wings are now fading away, so it can’t fly with them anymore. Icareagle also now has a darker color palette too, gray and purple.
Competitive Description: Yeah this form is ass so use the mega instead
Flavor Description: Same as the first one but bigger. Oh, it’s a skeleton corpse now.
Competitve Description: Funny Defensive mon that has cool options, like taunt, haze, will o wisp, knock off, etc.
Stingerupt (stinger + erupt)
Type: Bug Fire Height: same as beedrill Weight: same as beedrill Abilities: Swarm (Flame Body) Stats: 65/95/50/25/65/95 (395 BST) New moves: Ember, Flame Wheel, Flamethrower, Flare Blitz, Fire Blast, Dual Wingbeat (6) Removed Moves: Sludge Bomb, Poison Jab, Drill Run, Poison Sting, Venoshock, Rage (6)
Flavor Description: It lost its venom upon evolving from Kakhuna, and now it attacks its opponents with Fiery Jabs. Design wise, it’s arm stingers are now like lances with heat on them, and the stinger on its bottom is now like a torch.
Competitive Description: Its ass just use the mega
Mega Stingerupt
Type: Bug Fire Height: Same as beedrill mega Weight: Same as beedrill mega Ability: Technician Stats: 65/145/60/15/65/145 (495 BST)
Flavor Description: Same as original but bigger ig. I guess that it’s now samurai like?
Competitive Description: It’s slower than mega beedrill, but that comes of the benefit of technican boosted fell stinger and flame wheel, along with dual wingbeat and pursuit. If you manage to get a K.O with fell stinger then say goodbye to your opponents team.
Unfortunately it suffers from the major stealth rock weakness so you are going to have to be careful on when to bring Mega Stingerupt in.
Name: Angerird (Anger + Bird)
Typing: Fighting/Flying

Name: Angerird-Mega (Anger + Bird)
Typing: Fighting/Flying
Height: same as pidgeot-mega
Weight: same as pidgeot-mega

Stats: 80/135/100/68/75/121
New Moves: Close Combat, Knock Off
Removed Moves: Hurricane, Air Slash
Flavor/Design: angry-er bird.
Competitive Description: cool physical attacker with its new (and better) STAB close combat, double-edge and brave-bird are pretty nice too. knock off is nice for well, getting rid of leftovers or rocky helmet and stuff. and its bulky is pretty nice tho its defensive typing isnt the best. defog utility is also always welcome.
Name: Andrake (Ant + Drake)
Typing: Bug/Dragon
Height: 1.6m
Weight: 34.5 kg
Abilities: Swarm/Intimidate
Stats: 100/90/80/10/40/75 (sorry for minmaxing the SpA ): )
New Moves: Dragon Claw
Removed Moves: all poison moves except toxic
Flavor/Design: This alternate evolution for Kakuna is WAY more aggressive than Beedrill, and will hunt down its foes mercilessly. it lost its wings and its poiso in exchange for tougher stingers.
Competitive Description: bad just use the mega
Name: Andrake-Mega (Ant + Drake)
Typing: Bug/Dragon
Height: 2.2m
Weight: 45.5 kg
Abilities: Tough Claws
Stats: 100/135/115/10/40/95 (sorry for minmaxing the SpA ): )
New Moves: Dragon Claw
Removed Moves: all poison moves except toxic
Flavor/Design: Mega Beedrill with fangs, it dos grow wings but its weight is too much for it to actually fly. it also uses its huge stinger for defense instead of attack. it walks on its stingers too. how the stingers support the weight of its huge stinger is a mystery.
Competitive Description: defog, taunt, toxic, roost. its all there for a bulky support pokemon. dragon dance and dragon claw for offensive sets.
Name: Kafend Typing: Rock, Bug Height: 1.3m Weight: 60kg Abilities: Shields Down Stats: 55/60/110/30/110/30 (395)
New Moves: Ancient Power, Rock Blast, Rock Polish, Rock Slide, Rock Throw, Rock Tomb, Sandstorm, Shell Smash, Smack Down, Stealth Rock, Stone Edge (12) Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Confusion, Draining Kiss, Dream Eater, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Mega Drain, Poison Powder, Psychic, Psywave, Quiver Dance, Skill Swap, Sleep Powder, Solar Beam, Stun Spore, Sweet Scent, Tailwind, Teleport, Thief (19)
NOTE: Removal of Skill Swap is purely to stop any chances of Shields Down being removed (even though I think it doesn't affect Shields Down), and it didn't feel right to keep it anyway.
Name: Kafend-Offense Typing: Rock, Flying Height: 1.1m Weight: 35kg Abilities: Shields Down Stats: 55/110/50/60/50/70 (395)
Flavor/Design: A Metapod that is larger and rockier. When the shell is destroyed, it looks like a larger Butterfree with stones and shards on its wings and body. Pokédex entry: A Metapod that has focused on protecting itself from predators. When it feels threatened, however, it destroys its shell and uses the hardened rocks from its cocoon as weapons. These rocks are sharp enough to cut through most metals. It has a much larger and thicker cocoon than regular Metapod, partly due to rocks, but these can also be aligned on its wings in order to seriously injure prey when under threat. (Reason why it has this is because Butterfree has no Mega so this felt like the only appropriate response, while keeping it to the theme of a secondary evolution.)
Competitive Description: A powerful setup sweeper with access to high BP Rock-type moves, as well as Dual Wingbeat for Flying-type STAB, and while lacking in coverage it still has access to U-turn and Bug Bite for those who want to use it for some reason despite the lack of reason to, and reflect for supporting other Pokémon when not in danger, or instead itself. It also lacks in bulk outside of its Cocoon form, so will be susceptible to even the weakest of Bullet Punches or Accelerocks.
Name: Waspab Typing: Poison, Dragon Height: 4.5m Weight: 150kg Abilities: Rock Head / Sniper (Compound Eyes) Stats: 75/90/75/20/70/65 (395)
New Moves: Breaking Swipe, Bulldoze, Dragon Breath, Draco Meteor, Dragon Claw, Dragon Pulse, Dragon Rush, Dragon Tail, Earthquake, Gunk Shot, Head Charge, Iron Head, Iron Tail, Sucker Punch, Wild Charge (15) Removed Moves: Acrobatics, Aerial Ace, Defog, Giga Drain, Mega Drain, Peck, Roost, Tailwind (8)
Flavor/Design: A much larger Beedrill that walks instead of hovering. The legs, for this reason, are much stronger than its Beedrill counterpart, and the wings are much smaller. Pokédex entry: A Kakuna that has mutated due to a genetic disease, causing it to rapidly grow while evolving. Due to this, its wings are deformed and cannot use them, but can grow to extraordinary heights. They also are almost always angry, and so will attack anything it sees, including the ground or grass at times. They are recognisable from their large legs, body and head, their torn wings, and their extremely sharp stingers.
Competitive Description: A bulky physical sweeper, with access to priority in Sucker Punch, Dragon-type STAB and added recoil moves that can be utilised without drawbacks from Rock Head. Alternatively, those who prefer low-accuracy moves may benefit from Compound Eyes, pairing well with Gunk Shot, Drill Run, Dragon Rush, Iron Tail, and other moves. Its bulk is not substantial, however, and so may benefit from its Mega more, despite the freedom of running with a Life Orb.
Flavor/Design: Mega Beedrill but not hovering. Also it has less stingers on its "legs", since it needs to stand, rather than hover. The wings are tiny as well.
[SIZE=3}Pokédex entry: When Waspab Mega Evolve, their bodies react even more harshly to their genetic disease, causing extreme growth and pain. Because of this, it attacks everything around it, including itself. Mega Waspab owned by trainers are able to control their anger and pain, and therefore can use it to avoid any damage it would take in an enraged state, as well as deliver extreme blows to any enemy Pokémon. However, they still grow a substantial amount and therefore are much slower than their regular counterparts. Their stingers are much sharper than their regular counterparts and have more of them, are larger in size, and their bodies are so large that they have a hard time turning.[/SIZE]
Competitive Description: Waspab gains a pretty significant buff from its Mega, gaining a large amount of bulk and power, with a speed tradeoff. Plus, its ability, Magic Guard, protects it from any damaging hazards or burn damage, even though it will still be affected by Sticky Web and the effects of burns. It also improves on Rock Head, also ignoring recoil damage. However, since it cannot benefit from Life Orb, Magic Guard does little to improve on Waspab, since it already can ignore recoil damage anyway. Swords Dance makes this a terrifying foe, despite this, and its effect is sure to be large in battle.
I have no idea if Cafend is legal or not, but this was the only way I could think of making it not completely and utterly useless outside of a game for the first two gyms.
