I started off building this team around Specs Hydreigon, which a lot of common builds aren't currently prepared for. Knowing that Hydreigon was holding going to be specs, I knew I wanted another Krookodile response. Mega Altaria covered that basis while giving me a switchin to Hydreigon, Infernape, and much more. Empoleon is my steel of choice giving me rocks and a reliable check to mons such as Latias lacking Electrium Z and Primarina. Rotom-Heat fills the slot as my Defogger and Moltres/Scizor check, while also giving me momentum into Specs Hydreigon. Amoonguss gives me a secondary pivot into Scizor that isn't pressured by rocks and takes pressure off of Rotom-Heat from constantly switching into it, thus freeing it up for Z. Scarf Krook as the last for a ground + necessary speed control.

Get your core submissions in by Thursday, folks!

Protect is a great move on nihilego to scout and lets nihi put a lot of work in. With hydreigon and krook being choiced, it's easier for nihi to deal with them. ZThunder nukes empoleon. Of course, nihilego handles malt and rotom h with ease. Colbur celebi meanwhile can smash amoongus while finishing whichever dark nihi couldnt. Celebi also hits malt with dazzle if it wasnt mega when facing nihi.

Primarina is able to go up against much of this team by chipping and then getting back a lot of health with Rest and using Sleep talk to its fullest advantage, beating Krook, Malt, and both Hydreigon and Rotom-Heat based on its health. Electrium-Latias beats Empoleon with the Z-Thunder or forces it out and thanks to Hydreigon being specs can outspeed and take out Hydrei and can also beat Amoongus which fully walls Primarina.

Cobalion is able to run through this team with Steelium-Z and reaches +2 out-speeding everything bar Krookodile which it can also eat a hit from. Calcs below show how it can break through every defensive Mon on this squad. Last move-slot is filler you can use Substitute to avoid status and better handle revenge killers. You can also use SR as it very easily sets them up on Empoleon, Malt and choice-locked Hydra, however you'll avoid picking the OHKO on Amoonguss most likely as it's the primary switch into Coba. So I partnered it with Malt which heavily pressures Hydreigon to predict correctly, can reliably handle Krookodile and Rotom-H, acts as a sleep powder and scald switch-in pre-mega with natural cure. Cobalion does a good job luring and removing Amoonguss for DD Malt to sweep, especially if Rotom-H set is revealed lacking Toxic.
+2 252 Atk Cobalion Corkscrew Crash (160 BP) vs. 252 HP / 180+ Def Amoonguss: 394-465 (91.2 - 107.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock and Black Sludge recovery

+2 252 Atk Cobalion Close Combat vs. 144 HP / 0 Def Rotom-Heat: 288-339 (103.9 - 122.3%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+2 252 Atk Cobalion Iron Head vs. 96 HP / 124 Def Altaria-Mega: 336-396 (106.6 - 125.7%) -- guaranteed OHKO

232 Atk Krookodile Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Cobalion: 240-284 (74.3 - 87.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Nasty Plot ape is looking so good in this. Ape

Nasty Plot ape is looking so good in this. One nasty plot and infernape will blow through this team, it normally ohkos hydreigon without boost, it can Ohko empoleon, rotom heat, and amoonguss at +2, Krookodile dies to +2 vacuum wave on a high roll. Assuming all those focus blasts and fire blasts connects, its only problem is mega altaria. i added bee so that when infernape goes down beedrill can then come in and try to finish the job.

Lucario can almost 6-0 the team if it can set up 1 Nasty Plot. +2 Corkscrew Crash OHKO Amoonguss and then everything get OHKO after Stealth Rocks by Lucario's Moveset. Blissey is just there because it kinda wall on its own the whole team while being able to cheap with Toxic 4/6 Pokemon. It also provides Stealth Rocks that Lucario needs.

Rare of me not to post for this but I'm busier IRL and I haven't had much time to build, I couldn't come up with anything spicy for this week. But don't worry, I'll be back soon.
Anywho, as for what cores I like, I'm really fond of Twilight's core. This team smelled like Coba food at first glance and I probably would have done something with Coba myself if I built for this week. An Absent Amoonguss also makes the team terribly weak to the likes of Altaria, so once Amoonguss gets caught by Coba steel-Z Alt can really come on through. I really, really like this core.
The core of the Scizorphobic Sneer is another favorite of mine this week, Protect Nihi is so dirty vs teams that fall back on a Krook as their primary Nihi answer, and the thing shreds the rest of the team. Colbur Gleam Celebi is also really nasty here because it really slashes the viability of Krook and Hydra as answers, making the teams best Celebi answer.....Rotom-H? I think that speaks for itself. This core is downright nasty against this team and if I was using this team I'd never want to face this core. It's probably my favorite core this week.
I love coming back to Break this Team even if I'm not posting my own core because it gets better and better each week, some players are really good at finding the chinks in the armor or making crafty gameplans against certain teams.

I started around prima + rotom-h + cm dragonium z lati because prima does a rlly good job of consistently chipping steels (especially Empoleon) for draonium z lati to put in work, while rotom-h is a good scizor check, hazard removal, and raw steel answer that also appreciates prima's defensive utility in being a fighting resistance and status absorber. I went with rocks coba next because i needed rocks and it also abuses pursuit/knock off to support Lati... another sciz check couldn't hurt either since CB Sciz can be rlly rlly annoying if rocks are up. Scarf Krook was the natural 5th here as it is an elec immunity and speed control which is p much what I need and there aren't rlly any other options to get both in one slot other than scarf krook. This also gives a ghost answer which is needed p badly. CB Scizor comes through as a pivot to pair with Rotom-H and as a steel type that actually checks Lati, unlike Coba. Also gives better speed control for dders and scarfers that outspeed krook at +1 therefore making it not the most reliable speed control, CB BP makes up for it all the way around.

Please remember to submit your cores by Thursday.

Ghostium Celebi has gotten more usage as of late for being a cool set that gives celebi a strong widely neutral move that still nails latias. Slowbro has pretty much replaced alo as a fat water with regenerator, at the cost of making counterplay to VoltTurn a priority, but Alo is still viable. Celebi already has Natural Cure has an ability and thus isn’t as bothered by status in the long run, but still get worn down when lacking recover. Alo is a pest to scizor, Cobalion, and Krookodile and can exploit primarina. Healing wish on alo means celebi can take a strong hit from latias or krook and still come back in full. Rotom-h needs rocks to kill celebi with overheat, though that’s not happening if it’s -2.

After a Nasty Plot, Lucario can handle and break through the majority of the team except Latias. Altaria-Mega is here to check Krookodile, Rotom-Heat and Latias. The EVs spread allows it to never be 2HKO by Krookodile's Earthquake, to outspeed Latias after a Dragon Dance and Choice Scarf Krookodile after 2 Dragon Dance. I opted for Refresh over Earthquake because it allows Altaria-Mega to 1v1 Rotom-Heat.
