Breakthrough - My First OU Team

Hello everyone, I have been browsing Smogon for a long time, and it has helped me greatly in battles against friends and such. I finally decided to create an entire team with help from Smogon. =)

Metagross @ Occa Berry
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/236 Atk/12 Def/8 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Bullet Punch
- Explosion

Basically the standard lead Metagross, He gets up the rocks then dishes out the damage until he gets low on health and then Explodes.

Arcanine @ Choice Band
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk/252 Spd/4 SDef
Adamant nature (+Atk, - SAtk)
- Flare Blitz
- Extremespeed
- Thunder Fang
- Iron Head/Iron Tail

Most people are gonna be thinking "Arcanine in OU!? WTF!?" but in my experience I have found it to be good, I can easily take down 2-3 Pokes with it most of the time, and it hits 80%+ on most Blissey with Flare Blitz.

Aerodactyl @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
Evs: 4HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Roost
- Dragon Claw

A physical attacker Aerodactyl. In my experience this thing is not very good and dies quickly. This is the one that needs the most help.

Roserade @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Sludge Bomb
- Energy Ball
- Hidden Power [Ground]

Special attacker Roserade. It can dish out damage quickly as all it moves have good damage. It can cover a few types easily so I try to switch it in on them, namely Rock, Water, Grass, and Steel.

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 Atk/4 Def/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Punch
- Superpower

Taking advantage of Dragonite's monster Attack stat, this set takes all high power physical moves and unleashes them with the choice band. This thing is a beast and my MVP in every match.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP/152 Def/104 SAtk
Relaxed nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Surf
- Protect

I love bulky Swampert, he can stay alive while doing decent damage with its array of special attacks and can scout with Protect. My favorite Poke in the team.


I have found Starmie, Scizor, and bulky waters to be significant threats to this team.

Your descriptions are lacking quite a bit and hence, violating rule #3. At your convenience, lengthen them some more. Have a look at some of the teams in the RMT archive to see what is expected. Aim for 5 well-formulated sentences for each of your Pokemon. Explain why you chose a Pokemon, what it does, how it contributes to the success of the team, etc. If you fix the descriptions properly, PM me the changes; if they are sufficient enough I will unlock your thread with the edited descriptions.
