ORAS UU Bringing on the Doges - A UU Top 100 Offense Team

Yoooooooo what's up fellas? My name's MrMurkrow or Murk and I got a fun offense team to show off for you guys today!

So this is an HO team based around Suicune and Entei with other buds that's carried me to top 100 and still climbing!

So what I first wanted to do was build around Band Entei + CM 3 Attacks Suicune because they do a rather good job of breaking down eachother's checks

Next thing I wanted was a good way to take on Snorlax, fat psychics and waters like Cress, Reuni, and Cune, so I decided Guts SD Hera could do a pretty nice job with that.

Next I decided to add some more priority, rocks, and importantly checks to basically every huge threat in the tier lol.

Lastly I added Mence as an extremely offensive fighting check as well as a mon that can really break down bulkier teams and sweep people straight up.


The Doges

#1 doge (Entei) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure

Alright so we begin with the first doge of the doge core. Everyone knows what Entei does in UU, but it just does it so damn well. Adamant nature and max attack and speed for maximum damage output and to outrun things to the best of it's abilities. Adamant is necessary because the ESpeed Event Entei can only have Adamant nature, which works I guess lol. Banded Espeeds and Sacred Fires makes Entei an incredible revenger, late game sweeper, and overall really hard thing to switch in on. Edge is there to hit stuff like Mence, Entei, Arcanine, and Mandibuzz for some mad damage, and Blitz is there if we really want to nuke the opponent or REALLY don't wanna miss a 95% accurate move lmao. Quite often this will sweep right through a team with Espeed after bulky things are dead and the remaining pokes are really whittled. Overall just a humongous threat in the tier, and 50% burn chances with a really strong and rather accurate move like Sacred Fire makes it even better for wearing down switches!

So the second member to my doge core is offensive CM cune. This thing is really great for quite a few reasons. It gives a check to bulky waters, though I don't prefer to 1v1 crocune with this guy. It sets up on non fazing Vaporeons and various passive bulky mons that can't hit it super effectively (and don't carry toxic). Pump or Scald is really your choice, I go Hydro > Scald because it's by far the manliest option I prefer the mad damage that STAB hydro can provide instead of the chance to burn which I kinda have covered with Entei as well as Emp. HP grass hits bulky waters, does heavy damage to pert, and makes sure we can't be hard countered by Vaps. Ice beam for various stuffs like Crobat, Mence, Mandibuzz, and is just a generally good coverage move along with water and grass. CM gives me a win condition as well as letting us tank a special hit in a pinch. The EV spread is enough to outspeed max speed Mega Pert and other various base 70's I guess, though Cloyster is kind of obsolete when matched up to cune lol. I considered running Timid and enough speed to outpace base 80's or even run max, but I'm not especially afraid of Hera or Mamo, plus I wanted a bit more power that Modest provides me.0 Attack Ivs is just for foul play if you weren't aware but that's kind of a duh sort of thing :P This guy also serves as a check to mence and mamo even though we don't outspeed, and is just an overall really good mon for this team.

So like I said in the teambuilding process, I wanted this guy as my main way to deal with fat waters and CM psychics. I opted to go lefties over and orb because I do appreciate the recovery since I'm switching this guy in on Vaporeons and Suicunes most of the time. The moves are pretty standard Hera things, STAB CC is godly and Megahorn can dish some mad damage to Cress and Reuni and to various other things. Knock is always a great utility to rid common switchins like Florges, Crobat, Mence (maybe?) of their items. Another option is Stone Edge to fuck Crobat and buzz's day, but I prefer the knocking utility as it makes Hera a team player. The EV spread is to outrun max speed base 80's, mainly mamo, but non scarf chandelure as well I suppose. I don't really feel like speed tying other Heracross is that necessary since I can't really touch them, and I do appreciate a little added bulk because Hera comes in on Scalds a lot. Should have mentioned it earlier but SD lets us beat Crocune and other things or at least do some crazy damage so that the target can be revenged. Hera is also my only real check to CurseLax as we can do some mad damage with CC and picking up a guts boost off para really isn't that bad of a thing. Overall a really good mon, and another reason as to why I chose to not run Tox/Flame orb is that I really valued the 3 attacks it gets and I dislike being worn down, even though my goal is to kinda get burnt on scalds ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Whoever let mamo drop to OU, I just wanna say thank you. This dude is just a total menace for teams and an excellent wallbreaker. I opted for Mamo specifically for electric immunity, and STAB ice shard as it gives me an emergency button for Mence and does hella damage to MPidg and Crobat among others. I mean, is there really reason not to run Mamo on a team? STAB eq and icicle crash hits the tier extremely hard, and knock off is always a great filler move. Max speed jolly is chosen to speed tie other mamos and base 80s. We lose a little power without Adamant, but jolly orbed mamo hits so hard, it doesn't matter that much. This is another mon that can sweep late game with that stab ice shard. Lisk and Mega Amph are kinda annoying to this team, so having mamo that can block V-switching and murder in return was another fairly attractive reason to add Mamo to the ranks. Synergy speaking otherwise, clearing out those nasty fliers like Crobat, MAero, Mandibuzz, and Honchkrow (even though hera outspeeds) gives hera a lot of leeway to do some serious work on the opponent. I'm just rambling on why mamo is awesome, though it really doesn't need much in the way of justification, so... NEXT MEMBER

Firstly, big shoutout to my best smogon buddy Geopolitics for showing me this set, I dunno if you made it, but I love using it :]
So this set is the ultimate god lure of stuff. Of course we have rocks because every team needs rocks, and lets everything on my team, especially Hera and Entei put a lot more offensive pressure as their checks really dislike rocks most of the time. Really great for the MBee since it dies to an Ice Shard or Espeed after rocks which makes it a not threat :P Shuca Berry with Scald, Ice Beam, and GK makes this thing an incredible lure for Mamo, Mega Pert, and Mence. It has enough SpA to kill off those guys with Torrent boosted scalds, ice beam and gk while living a hit thanks to Shuca berry. Life orb mamo knocks emp into torrent and then dies to torrent scald, and Pert and Mence just die to their respective coverage. Basically a lure for any mon that uses hard ground moves, like the Nidos, but mainly for the aforementioned 3 which are mondo threats in the tier. The rest of the Evs are dumped into Spdef so that it can still chew a couple of hurricanes from pidg or a dpulse from hydreigon. Since I already have Ice Shard to OHKO mence, I don't particularly NEED ice beam, but I don't feel that I need defog even though I have 2 rock weak mons, but the option is there I guess if it scares you. Overall, a really great mon in this meta, especially for offensive teams that don't appreciate those really hard hitters.

So it's been like 3 months since I built this team, and after a not so voluntary hiatus from showdown, I decided to revisit this heat crew, and I realized that Scarf Mence was absolutely a perfect fit for this team instead of mixed DD mence or a Crobat. What Scarf Mence added over that was a real solid late game cleaner, and some speed control which is extremely vital since this team has quite a few problems with stuff like Scarf Hydrei and other relatively speedy things. Also because I have 4 mons that excel at breaking apart Steel types i.e Forry and MAggron, as well as pesky Fairies that Entei and Mamo can slaughter as well as catching them on the switch with Iron Tail, Scarf Mence really finds a lot of opportunities to clean through teams by stacking Moxie DClaw/Outrage. After making this change, I got to around 1500 very quickly and easily on two alts, and Mence has been a real star on the team. + This also gives you attractive raters a chance to look it over once more : ^)


So that's the team! It's really fun to use, and does some pretty good work! While it's not the most innovative team out there, it's not totally 100% standard, and is just an enjoyable team to ladder with it. Hey, cool team you have got there. I like offensive Suicune a lot as it can still check some huge threats to HO such as Aerodactyl. However, I can see some weaknesses to fixe.

• Heavy and fast Fight types are really annoying for this team thats why i'd like to remove Mence's scarf for an all out attacker version that way you can use it as your fight check.

• I think run Stealth Rocks on Mamoswine would allow you to run both Ice Beam and Defog on Empoleon which is mandatory to deal with Hydreigon, Mence and defog rocks for Mence and Entei.

Thanks for the rate! Good points you have there, and I've even considered changing emp to fully offensive shuca since it was given spdef for stuff like Pidg. I still prefer Scarf mence for speed control, but I can give it a whirl.
