Brionne is an above average specially defensive wall in the NFE metagame, thanks to its above average bulk and wonderful typing for taking on many special attackers in the metagame, including but not limited to Hattrem, Wartortle and Haunter. Brionne's Movepool also allows it to deter certain physical threats from coming in to damage it, some examples of this are Machoke and Piloswine, who are both threatened with noticable damage by Brionne's attacking moves of choice in Moonblast and Scald. Despite these good qualities, Brionne tends to be fodder for Pawniard while asleep, and as a result wants some support in this regard, making Machoke, Brick Break Pawniard, and Vibrava very helpful teammates for Brionne. Specially defensive Brionne also greatly enjoys hazard support, as it is capable of forcing switches, making Pokemon such as Roselia, Carkol and Piloswine good partners thanks to providing hazard support.

Brionne makes for a solid wallbreaker in the NFE metagame thanks to its near-unresisted coverage from Hydro Pump, Moonblast and Ice Beam allowing it to 2hko the majority of the metagame if brionne picks the correct move with the only pokemon that can survive two hits after hydro pump reliably are spdef water types such as Mareanie or Brionne, and spdef Corsola-Galar. Unfortunately Brionne is plagued with a mediocre speed tier that always leaves it outsped by pokemon like Pawniard, Haunter and Linoone-Galar, which all threaten to cripple via knock off or KO Brionne, forcing you to switch out immediately. Thanks to this, it's reccomended that one pair specs Brionne with more defensive pokemon such as Machoke or Klang to cover its lack of bulk, and allow it to more safely perform its role. Other useful teammates for Specs Brionne are more offensively oriented hazard setters, such as Piloswine or Pawniard, as they soften up the opposing team for specs Brionne to KO more reliably.
