Broken technology

Have you ever broken any sort of technology?
i dropped 2 GBC's in the toilet with a gold in one, and a silver in the other.
my third GBC was a special edition pikachu edition. i licked my hand and wiped the screen due to residue, and it just stopped working.
my ps2 just got worn down from being dropped and years of abuse and use.
i dropped an ipod and it just stopped working.
my wii's disc reader is basically fried, it won't read any discs at all due to it being left on for about 2 years straight. (it was on constantly)
i also had a PC game disc shatter inside of my computer due to overuse.
i think thats about it.
Oh, and does anyone have any idea of what i can do about my wii?

i didn't know that it was still running when the light was yellow. i didn't find out it was connecting to the internet by itself and that i had to hold the button for a while to turn it off.

yessums, if you don't want your wii to destroy itself, hold the button untill it is red. you must do it manually by holding the button on the wii.
brawlex, how did you break em'?

My mom broke my Laptop. She was cleaning my room and while changing the covers on my bed she dropped it to the ground and the screen cracked ;_;

you guys didn't know that the yellow light on the wii meant standby mode? That was one of the first things I learned about my wii when I got it.

Anyhow...hmm I can't remember actually "breaking" anything. My old SNES still works, my GBA still works...my old Dell laptop still works (albeit the battery is worn out).

I can't even remember the last time something I had stopped working.

I'm just very lucky because I've dropped my GBA and my cellphone at least 20 times, all in which I am to blame, not to mention I've tripped on my PS2's remote's wires countless times, obviously they would fall and every time you'd think something would break, but the only thing even close to it is the analog malfunction, having to occasionally turn the analog off and back on, they should have stopped working but no.

I'm lucky I guess.

Oh yeah, now I do remember that I dropped my monitor on the ground while carrying it once, afterwards it just stopped working.

Well, about 2 days ago there was a strange noise coming from the dryer - found out later it was my MP3 player, which had also gone straight through the washing machine >.> Suffice is to say it didn't work, but I needed a new one anyway ^_^

I didn't either x.x Shit I hope my wii doesn't break ... I was wondering why I would hear it clicking from time to time.

I haven't really broken anything * knock on wood* I washed my iPod nano, but it started working again good as new :D

my second Gba had its L button break. My first Ds got rolled over by my cousin when it was open rendering the top screen useless. my second ds had its L button break, it got repaired then the L button broke, as well as the hinges, I got it back after repairs and a week later it gets stolen out of my car. I hope the one I have now lasts till at least christmas.

Oh and I could have sworn the yellow light meant that the wii was off but connected to the internet and that it wouldn't do any damage.

Somehow, after 7 years, my PS2 still works just as new. Not the same could be said about my DS. Through excessive use, the pixels on the top screen began to "white out" instead of displaying actual color. And my A button became permanently mashed down. I guess that's what I get from buying a DS Lite.

I'm just curious as to why someone would play Red or Blue Version over the toilet. That's just asking for trouble.

Oh come on, it's the perfect opportunity to train your Pokemon!

On a serious note, I certainly have damaged stuff I have (dropped a laptop a few times, certainly dropped my cellphone tons of times)...oh wait. That remind me of something I did break!

I stepped on my cellphone when it was OPEN and flipped (it was a Razr). Needless to say it did not survive.

My DS lite once fell around 80 cm, and the top screen stopped working o_o

I got it fixed for free though (after a few months - I blame Nintendo), the actual screen wasn't broken. Just one of the connecting wires must have snapped.

Heh. The only thing I've actually broken was my old cell phone, I threw it to the ground once and the screen semi-cracked. Then I slammed it down on the counter and the screen fully died. The phone still worked perfectly, I only had the outside screen though.

Hehe, three points to me for unplugging my Wii when I don't use it.

I perhaps should've broken my mobile by now, I've dropped it about a billion times. I've also gone through two PS2 controllers because I used to wrap the wires the whole way around it and the wires got frayed :-/ I've been bloody lucky recently not to break my PSP. It was on my bed, which is a high sleeper and I inadvertently went to sleep with it still on my bed. When I woke up, it was right against the edge of my bed, close to the two metre drop.

The one thing that really bugs me is that my Digimon handheld thing and my tamagochi both got broken.

I have gone through about 16 ps2 controllers in 5 years most of them were joysticks that stopped working properly but have also had buttons getting stuck pressed or stop working altogether.
