[OVERVIEW]
  • Pretty good defensive typing w Levitate allows it to switch in to major threats like Landorus-T, Mega Gardevoir and Mega Diancie
  • Solid defensive stats allow it to reliably set TR at least once
  • Not a slouch offensively due to high BP moves like Gyro Ball and Explosion
  • Faces big competition from Jirachi which has better bulk, access to TR as well as additional support moves like Follow Me and Helping Hand
  • zong has the levitate + bigger offensive presence through high BP moves to compete with it thooo
  • Has no options to hit common Steel-types like Heatran and Aegislash which often carry Substitute to take advantage of that
  • Weaknesses to attacking types like Fire and Dark which are really hard to switch into bc of the power of their users

[SET]
name: Trick Room
move 1: Gyro Ball
move 2: Zen Headbutt / Explosion
move 3: Trick Room
move 4: Protect
item: Safety Goggles / Colbur Berry
ability: Levitate
nature: Brave
evs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========
  • Gyro Ball is strong STAB, works well bc its slow obv
  • ZHB is sort of strong STAB that hits Keldeo and Amoonguss
  • Explosion does decent damage to every mon and allows a free switchin to another mon which allows the full use of Trick Room turns
  • TR sets TR gives u the speed advantage etc etc
  • Protect is a staple stable move in doubles

Set Details
========
  • Max HP Max Atk Brave is used for more damage as it's usually bulky enough to set TR once without additional defensive investment. Recommended spread w/ Explosion
  • Brave > Adamant lowers Speed for max Gyro Ball power + slower for TR
  • 0speed ivs for tr and gyro memes
  • Goggles allows you to set TR on Amoonguss and reliably beat it if using Zen Headbutt
  • Colbur allows you to stomach a single strong Dark-type attack from Pokemon like Hydreigon, Bisharp, and Hoopa-U
  • Alternative spread of 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpD Relaxed allows it to tank Hydrei Dark Pulse w/o Colbur and set TR more reliably with the bulk but comes at the cost of hitting like a wet noodle
Usage Tips
========
  • Good lead to set tr!!!!
  • Avoid letting it take too much damage before setting TR as it could be too vulnerable to set it up
  • like use fake out users/redirection to make sure its safe if it is damaged / has stuff out that threatens it
  • Use Explosion to take advantage of TR turns, switch in a ghost-type if you have one to avoid giving up too much momentum/not waste tr turns
  • uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh set tr?

Team Options
========
  • Fake Out support from Scrafty, Mega Kangaskhan
  • Strong TR attackers like Volcanion and Sylveon
  • Checks to strong Dark-types like Hydreigon and Hoopa-u such as Conkeldurr and Scrafty again -_-
  • Amoonguss is hot bc it redirects attacks for a safe TR
  • Checks to Fire-types like CharY and Heatran such as Gyarados and Rotom-w
  • Ghost-type TR setter like Jellicent to switch into zong's own booms if it using that. not necessary if using zen

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
  • Rock Slide OHKOs Talonflame and does heavy damage to ZardY
  • Skill Swap is fun and steals abilities, works w heatran and levitate (throwback to vgc2013)
  • Sunny Day checks rain teams and provides more firepower to your Fire-types
  • this is literally the extent of its movepool .___.
  • Normal Gem strengthens Explosion
  • Occa Berry allows it to take a strong Fire-type move but its generally worse than Colbur bc you cant do jack back
  • Life Orb gives more damage to your attacks, notably giving it a chance to OHKO Keldeo
  • Safeguard sucks but tree told me to put it on here

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon**: ZardY, Talonflame, Heatran all give it the dick with their STAB and resist Gyro

**Steel-type Pokemon**: Aegislash and Bisharp wall it and dunk it

**Dark-type Pokemon**: Without a Colbur Berry, Bronzong is OHKOd by common Dark-types like Hoopa-U and Hydreigon

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: immune to Explosion, hit it with a strong STAB move. Jellicent resists Gyro and Gengar has Taunt as well as a rlly powerful Shadow Ball

**Taunt**: Stops it from setting TR, Gengar has a super effective STAB to hit it and Thundurus resists Steel :<

[OVERVIEW]

Bronzong's good defensive typing combined with Levitate and high defensive stats allow it switch into threats such as Landorus-T, Mega Gardevoir, and Mega Diancie and reliably set Trick Room at least once per match. Offensively, its high-Base Power moves including Gyro Ball and Explosion allow Bronzong to maintain offensive pressure. However, Bronzong faces competition from Jirachi, which offers greater bulk and access to support moves such as Follow Me and Helping Hand in lieu of Bronzong's Levitate and better offensive options. Additionally, Bronzong cannot touch common Steel-types such as Heatran and Aegislash, which can take advantage of this due to commonly carrying Substitute. Bronzong is also weak to common attacking types in Fire and Dark, which are difficult to switch into, particularly for common Trick Room team members.

Moves
========

Gyro Ball serves as a strong, STAB Steel-type move that takes advantage of Bronzong's low Speed. Zen Headbutt allows Bronzong to deal with Fighting-types such as Keldeo, as well as Amoonguss. Explosion can be used instead to do good damage against nearly any Pokemon and allow a safe switch in for another Pokemon to take advantage of Trick Room turns. Trick Room allows slower Pokemon such as Bronzong itself to use their low Speed to move first. Protect keeps Bronzong safe while a partner can deal with a threat.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack investment with a Brave nature is used to make Bronzong's attacks as strong as possible and works well with Explosion while lowering its Speed for Gyro Ball and Trick Room. Maximum HP investment lets Bronzong usually set Trick Room at least once due to its bulk, notably allowing it to survive Aegislash's Shadow Ball. Safety Goggles provides powder move immunity so that Bronzong can set Trick Room on Amoonguss and reliably beat it if using Zen Headbutt. However, Colbur Berry can be used instead to stomach a single, strong Dark-type attack from the likes of Hydreigon, Bisharp, and Hoopa-U. Finally, an alternate spread of 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 SpD with a Relaxed nature enables Bronzong to take a Dark Pulse from Life Orb Hydreigon without Colbur Berry but comes at the cost of being far weaker offensively.

Usage Tips
========

Bronzong makes a good lead, as its primary role is to set Trick Room for itself and its teammates. To perform this role best, Bronzong should avoid taking too much damage before setting Trick Room, as otherwise it can be left too vulnerable to set it. Furthermore, Fake Out and redirection from teammates should be used if Bronzong is damaged or if there are Pokemon threatening it. After Trick Room is set, use Explosion to take advantage of the limited turns the best, which deals large damage and lets a threatening teammate be brought in safely. When using Explosion, use it alongside a Ghost-type or use Protect so that Bronzong does not damage your own Pokemon.

Team Options
========

Bronzong appreciates Fake Out support from Pokemon such as Scrafty and Mega Kangaskhan to assist in setting Trick Room. Strong, slow attackers such as Volcanion and Sylveon can take advantage of the Trick Room that Bronzong has set. Pokemon that can deal with the Dark-types such as Hydreigon that Bronzong struggles with make good teammates, such as Conkeldurr and the aforementioned Scrafty. Amoonguss can provide redirection to help Bronzong safely set Trick Room and take advantage of the speed control to put foes to sleep with Spore before they move. Pokemon that can handle Fire-types such as Heatran, for example Gyarados and Rotom-W, are useful for supporting Bronzong. If using Explosion, Ghost-type teammates such as Jellicent are useful for switching into it without taking damage.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Stone Edge is an option for OHKOing Talonflame and Mega Charizard Y and is generally better than the less viable alternative Rock Slide, which misses out on OHKOing Mega Charizard Y; Safety Goggles also lets Bronzong ignore Rage Powder, so it isn't a problem that Stone Edge is a single-target attack. Skill Swap is useful for weakening Pokemon that rely on their ability such as Mega Kangaskhan and works well in combination with Heatran due to Levitate. Sunny Day can be used to improve a team's rain matchup or help boost the strength of Fire-type teammates. Normal Gem strengthens Explosion but makes Bronzong less reliable at setting Trick Room. Occa Berry allows Bronzong to take a single, strong Fire-type move but is generally worse than Colbur Berry, as Bronzong can't do as much damage in return. Safeguard can be used to provide its team with sleep immunity against Amoonguss; however, it is worth noting that Amoonguss will outspeed Bronzong under Trick Room and can therefore still use Spore that turn. Stealth Rock is a niche non-attacking option that can provide chip damage for teammates as well as weaken the Fire-types that Bronzong hates.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon**: Fire-types such as Mega Charizard Y, Talonflame, and Heatran all resist Gyro Ball and deal large damage to or OHKO Bronzong with their STAB moves. Heatran cannot OHKO Bronzong with Heat Wave but can safely set up a Substitute against it.

**Steel-type Pokemon**: Steel-type Pokemon such as Aegislash and Bisharp take little from Bronzong's attacks. Both can do high amounts of damage to Bronzong, with Aegislash also being able to freely Substitute up if carrying it.

**Dark-type Pokemon**: Common Dark-type Pokemon such as Hoopa-U, Bisharp, and Hydreigon can OHKO Bronzong if it lacks Colbur Berry.

**Ghost-type Pokemon**: Ghost-types such as Jellicent and Gengar are immune to Explosion and have super effective STAB moves to use against Bronzong. Jellicent also resists Gyro Ball.

**Taunt**: Taunt prevents Bronzong from setting Trick Room, leaving it and its teammates vulnerable. Furthermore, common users such as Gengar and Thundurus can hit Bronzong with a super effective STAB move and resist Steel, respectively.

In OO use Stone Edge > Rock Slide so you actually get the KO on Zard Y and since you're using goggles to avoid it being redirected its the better overall option, though you can keep Rock Slide in mention it after Stedge.

deal large damage to or OHKO Bronzong is okay and a success of parallelism, so I left it in

hm I don't think it needs to be elaborated on. no Trick Room --> team is still slow --> slow things get OHKOed by things that are less slow
