Zacian-C @ Rusted Sword
Level: 50
Ability: Intrepid Sword
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
Tera Type: Water / Ground
- Trailblaze
- Play Rough
- Behemoth Blade / Swords Dance
- Swords Dance / Tera Blast

Zacian-C is the monarch of slicing through late-game! Trailblaze boosts its already blistering Speed stat to levels that only Choice Scarf Calyrex-S can hope to revenge kill it. Behemoth Blade's reliability and power lock it in as Zacian-C's weapon of choice, while Play Rough is a powerful dragon slayer. Though it comes at the cost of coverage, Swords Dance lessens the punishment of wasting Intrepid Sword's one-time boost and makes it far easier to slash through weakened bulky foes like Hippowdon. Tera Water saves Zacian-C from Koraidon's Flare Blitz and Ditto's own Behemoth Blade while 2HKOing Skeledirge with Tera Blast. Tera Ground insulates Zacian-C against Miraidon and Thunder Wave from foes like Focus Sash Flutter Mane while also providing a powerful Tera Blast against Skeledirge and Archaludon. Dondozo and Skeledirge use Unaware to shrug off its Attack boosts, and it must be wary of softer checks such as Yawn Hippowdon and Ursaluna-B. Chi-Yu and your own Ursaluna-B are awesome teammates, using their overwhelming Special Attack to pressure these defensive checks. Ogerpon-H also deserves special mention for breaking through Unaware users with Mold Breaker.

Got this ready for a QC check, though note it's not optimized for 1000 characters yet, I'll do that after the check!

There's also a matter I'm trying to figure out. See I updated the moveset to better reflect what Zacian-C has been doing lately, but I'm unsure if we should cover the max offensive spread that outspeeds Scarf Koraidon / booster energy Iron Bundle, or the bulkier EV spread that outspeeds regular Iron Bundle after Trailblaze. The latter has had some pretty high ladder placements, but there are certainly Jolly Zacian-C around that want to outspeed almost every Scarf revenge killer.

I wouldn't have to change much writing if we go with the bulkier spread, but I'd like for a QC member to help weigh on this with me, because I'm really not sure which one we should go with!

Looks good for me, but I've seen plenty of Zacian dropping Behemoth Blade altogether since there's a lot of Steel-resistant targets that it faces, I'd move one of the slashes from SD to it in order to reflect that. Other than that I have no other comments, QC approved!

Implemented the check! Currently this is at 1234 characters (yes seriously lol), so I think I need a bit of help making this more concise.

For future reference, the character count for spotlights does not include spaces. The character count without spaces for this analysis wasn't that high, so I actually didn't have to cut a lot out.

Zacian-C is the queen monarch (you did use "it" when referring to Zacian-C, and the games classify it as gender unknown despite that one Pokédex entry) of slicing through late-game! Though it comes at the cost of coverage, Swords Dance lessens the punishment of wasting Intrepid Sword's one-time activation boost (RC) and the boost makes it far easier to slash through weakened bulky foes like Hippowdon once they've been weakened. Tera Water is a great defensive option, (filler) saving saves Zacian-C against from Koraidon's Flare Blitz and a Ditto's opposing own Behemoth Blade (RC) and while 2HKOing Skeledirge with Tera Blast. Tera Ground insulates Zacian-C against Miraidon and Thunder Wave paralysis from foes like Focus Sash Flutter Mane (RC) while also providing a powerful Tera Blast against Skeledirge and Archaludon. Dondozo and Skeledirge use Unaware to shrug off Intrepid Sword its Attack boosts, (accounts for Swords Dance) and it must be wary of softer checks such as Yawn Hippowdon and Ursaluna-B. Chi-Yu and your own Ursaluna-B are awesome teammates for these, using their overwhelming Special Attack to pressure these defensive checks. Ogerpon-H also deserves special mention for breaking through Unaware users with Mold Breaker.

(character count w/o spaces: 1045 -> 996)

Thanks for the check! I gotta hand it to you, monarch is a clever work around for the Pokemon gender stuff. This is now ready!
