Bulky Offense: An OU RMT

Hi there, this is my first RMT on Smogon ( or anywhere for that matter :P), so go a bit easy, but please don't hold back on constructive criticism.

Ok, here goes, the team at a glance:

THE LEAD

385.png

Jirachi@Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
Jolly Nature (+Speed -Special Attack)
-Trick
-Stealth Rock
-U-Turn
-Iron Head
EVs: 176 Speed, 80 HP, 252 Attack
I love this guy as a lead. He can reliably shut down almost all of the main leads used right now, his only trouble being those pesky sleep leads. Basically, I use Trick to shut the opponent's lead down to make sure he either can't attack or put up rocks, then I put up rocks of my own. Iron Head is there to abuse Jirachi's awesome haxy ability, and U-Turn is there to help get me out of tricky situations.

THE SPECIAL SWEEPER #1
380.png

Latias@Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
Timid Nature (+Speed - Attack)
-Calm Mind
-Draco Meteor
-Recover
-Surf
EVs: 252 Speed, 252 Special Attack, 4 HP
This is possibly my favourite of the Dragons. I used to have a MixMence in this spot (who doesn't?), however I changed it out for someting with a little more speed and A LOT more bulk, and also, in my opinion, slightly better typing. Also, basically everyone has a MixMence, so I decided to choose something with a little more originality. I chose Draco Meteor over Dragon Pulse here because I felt that the extra power really helped in certain situations. The rest of the set is fairly self-explanatory, and the EVs as well.

THE BEAST
248-m.png

Tyranitar@Leftovers
Ability: Sand Stream
Adamant Nature( +Attack, -Special Attack)
-Dragon Dance
-Crunch
-Aqua Tail
-Stone Edge
EVs: 252 Attack, 252 Speed, 4 HP
Even after only one turn of set-up, I have seen this guy sweep through unprepared teams in there entirety. Let me give you an example: after one turn of DD, this guy reaches a monstrous 604 Attack, and a still fairly impressive 331 speed. You can only imagine the consequences after two or three. This guy is in effect the core of my team. My winning strategy is basically to get him out on something such as a Blissey, set up as much as he can, and then watch him wreak havoc... Again, a fairly standard set of EVs, and a standard moveset ( sorry, I'm not the most imaginative person out there :P). I used to have Fire Punch in there instead of Aqua Tail to try and hit Scizor, but I then realised that it was almost completely pointless, so I switched to Aqua Tail for more power and better coverage.

THE SPIN BLOCKER, WALL AND SPECIAL SWEEPER #2
479-l.png

Rotom-C@Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Bold Nature (+Defense, -Attack)
-Will O'Wisp
-Shadow Ball
-Thunderbolt
-Leaf Storm
EVs: 252 HP, 80 Defense, 88 Speed, 88 Special Attack
This has to be one of the most irritating pokemon in the game to face! He has so many uses, and I bring him on as often as I can, sometimes even on special sweepers, just to inflict status. Talking of status, I'd say that Will O'Wisp has to be one of my favourite moves in the game. Crippling physical sweepers, and also inflicting useful status,is an opportunity that should never be passed up. I chose Rotom-C over the other forms simply because of Leaf Storm. Swampert is a huge counter to my team, without this I would be pretty much a sitting duck. And the chance to 1HKO Rhyperior is never one I would easily pass up.

THE PHYSICAL SWEEPER#2
212-m.png

Scizor@ Choice Band
Ability: Technician
Nature: Adamant (+Attack, - Special Attack)
-Bullet Punch
-Pursuit
-U-Turn
-Superpower
EVs: 248 HP, 252 Attack, 8 Speed
Oh, well look who it is...
I know this guy is the most ridiculously used Pokemon of quite possibly all time, but there is a reason for it: HE'S REALLY THAT GOOD! Without this guy, I would have virtually nothing to stop Tyranitar from pounding my team into the dust, so here he is. I'm sure this moveset needs no explanation, as everyone must have seen it a thousand times before. The EV spread follows up on my theme of bulky offense, those EVs in HP helping him to survive a little longer and to take hits a little better than he normally would.

THE STALLBREAKER
472-m.png

Gliscor@Life Orb
Ability: Sand Veil
Jolly Nature (+Speed, -Special Attack)
-Taunt
-Sword's Dance
-Roost
-Earthquake
EVs: 40 HP, 252 Attack, 216 Speed
This is the one guy who I can reliably use to shut down walls with ease, the other being Jirachi, but only if he hasn't got rid of his Choice Scarf already. After I have Taunted, unless the wall is a Blissey running Ice Beam, I use SD straight away, then destroy them (hopefully) with Earthquake. I then Roost off any LO or residual damage, then start again until the wall is down.

THE CONCLUSION

Well firstly, thank you very much for reading this, and I hope you have enjoyed yourselves. Next, I have enjoyed mostly success in my ladder matches, and I hope you can help me with any problems that you see.

P.S My team is in need of a Rapid Spinner and a Cleric, however I have been unable to find a slot for them on my team. Any help will be welcome on this.

Welcome to Smogon! :) First of all, i'd like to say that you need to put some more comments for each of your pokemon and maybe add a threat list.

As for the team, i would recommend a scarf/specs latias. CM+ draco meteor is a bad combination because what you're doing is boosting your special stats, then throwing it away with a single attack. You could just change draco meteor to dragon pulse though. For a choice spec set, you could run this:

Latias
@ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
Modest (+SP.atk,-Atk )/ Timid (+ Speed,-Atk)
4HP, 252 Sp.atk,252 speed
~Draco Meteor
Obviously
~Surf
Coverage
~Dragon Pulse/ Thunderbolt
More STAB/more coverage
~Trick/Thunderbolt
To Stallbreak e.g. Trick specs onto a SDing scizor, trick specs onto a wishing blissey)/ more coverage.

Other than that, most things seem fine.

P.S. remember to remove the formatting first.

I am having difficulty understanding your Gliscor set. How is this supposed to break stall with its only attack being Earthquake? All the opponent has to do is send in a flying type or a levitator which are commonly seen on stall teams and you can't do anything to them. I suggest replacing Swords Dance with toxic to help stall out opponents better and really annoy stall teams.

This is a good team for sure, i just have a few nitpicks/solutions to make it better. Firstly Jirachi always needs to run max speed to check certain threats that can trouble this team and Latias and Tyranitar, as well as being more useful overall. Secondly, I suggest you just use 3-4 attack on it and give the move Stealth Rock to another member on your team (Gliscor *hint*). Any combination of Iron Head, Fire Punch, Thunderpunch, Ice Punch . You can also throw trick over possibly fire punch or ice punch, which ever you feel is unneeded. Ice punch gives you an easy OHKO on most Salamence, Flygon, while doing considerable amounts to Dragonite. ThunderPunch is essentially needed as it checks and revenges Gyarados and does decent damage to many bulky waters, and fire punch checks Agiligross and Scizor that can do a some damage to your team before they go down. Iron head provides Jirachi with a STAB move than can flinch 60% of the time, meaning: if you feel lucky, you can use it over say, ice punch, to check Salamence, flinching for the 2hko/3hko. The ev spread can basically be any combo of Max speed jolly and either 252 attack and 4 hp (4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spe) or any combo. All that you'd really lose from this is you'll have a little bit of trouble with stall during the first few turns, but if you can get rid of Blissey or weaken the stall a bit, one of your sweepers can blow through and sweep said team.

I don't think offensive Latias is a good choice on this team let alone being a good choice overall on many teams. A more defensive EV'd Latias with Leftovers looks much better on this team being more balanced, while checking opposing Pokemon like Infernape and basically anything slow or anything it hits super-effectively. Also, have Dragon Pulse over Draco Meteor, as Calm Minding up and dropping back down is really redundant and completely unethical. 148 HP/108 SpA/252 Spe while staying Timid would be optimal. With that spread you can take up to 4 consecutive seismic tosses from Blissey without using recover, and when you get to +6 you have a high chance of 2HKOing the standard Blissey with Dragon Pulse. You need max speed here to at least tie with base 110s such as Gengar and opposing Latias, as it will come down to a time when you really need to win that speed tie. Keep surf also, as you can damage Scizor and Tyranitar which can mean the difference between a live Latias and a dead one.

I suggest you try and make Rotom a little bulkier defensively, while still keeping the same moves. The reason behind this is with Jirachi revenging Gyarados, and nothing else really can take a waterfall/stone edge, so having Rotom there to take a hit and kill it off with Thunderbolt. Throwing out a spread like: 252 HP/200 Def/48 SpA/8 Spe, keeping it defensive while still supporting some attacking power would be better than your current spread. You can take quite a few physical hits from Gyarados also, making it a good counter to Gyarados.

I really don't see how Gliscor can possibly do what you say it can. Gyarados, which is very very common on stall, can just switch in and waterfall and roar with impunity once they know your set. Also a bulky pokemon like Gliscor shouldn't really use Life Orb, and is better served on this team setting up Stealth Rock and checking opposing threats like Lucario, Heracross, and Machamp and many physical threats in general. 252 HP/40 Def/216 Spe while staying Jolly, the item: Leftovers and the moves of Stealth Rock, Earthquake, Roost, and either Toxic or Stone Edge would be the best possible choice of Gliscor for this team, putting it together quite nicely. Gliscor can't really sweep with one move either and life orb recoil and the damage it takes checking the threats that would otherwise destroy this team is a heartbeat will kill it off rather quickly, meaning the defensive set is the best option. It can do the aforementioned things easier with said EVs.

To not make this rate too long, I'll just quickly say that you should try out Babiri Berry Tyranitar. Your team doesn't like Scizor too much with Rotom and Gliscor only able to take a few hits from it. With Fire Punch and Babiri Berry, you can take a Bullet Punch and OHKO back with the Fire attack Also one more way of getting rid of Scizor is a big plus for a Latias sweep. I know you've already tried it, but with my suggestions for the team, it really fits now.

Good Luck!

Thanks for all the replies, and I will try out your suggestions, but can anyone help me to find a good Rapid Spinner who retains synergy and the focus of the team?

You don't need a spinner tbh, as none of your team is weak to Stealth Rock, and you can just Taunt spike set up mons with Pliscor, preventing their set up. Jirachi can beat Roserade and Smeargle with a flinch from Iron Head also.
