Bulky Offense (Attempt)

Hiya everybody! This is the very first team that I have created. I put a lot of thought into this. My original plan was to create a team that had a powerful offensive presence, but was also able to take a hit. So, then I just thought to myself, make a Bulky Offense team! As soon as I thought about that, I started my team-building process.
~
The first pokemon that comes to mind when I think of bulky offense is Heatran. I don't know why... :P He learns Stealth Rock, so I immediately thought I'd use him as my (offensive) lead.

Next, I wanted a pokemon that was decently fast and could resist Tran's water weakness, so I opted for Keldeo. He doesn't have the best bulk, but it's not bad.

I noticed that I forgot completely about Tran's x4 Ground weakness, so I wanted someone immune to it. I chose Dragonite, because of his great bulk, Multiscale, and nice 134 attack.

I thought about all of the pokemon on my team, and I noticed there weren't any Gen 6 pokemon on there. Originally, I planned on using Aurorus, but I didn't like it's rather mediocre base 72 defense and its horrid defensive typing. I then thought about all of my potential options (Avalugg, Goodra, Aegislash, Dragalge, Chesnaught, etc.), and I settled on Aegislash. Goodra was a good option, but I already had Dragonite and I didn't want another Ice weakness.

I remembered reading about Rotom-W in OU, and I thought to myself he could be a nice extra immunity to Ground with nice dual-stabs. I fell in love with the TrickScarf set, so I chose him without hesitation.

At this point in my team-building process, I was rather stuck on who I should pick for my last team member. I read about Mega-Scizor and its abilities and thought he would be a nice fit on my team. He had nice 70/140/100 bulk and a huge base 150 attack, so I immediately chose him for my final spot.

After a lot of playtesting, I've noticed that Mega-Scizor wasn't really working out, so I replaced him with ParaFlinch Togekiss. :)

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 152 HP/252 SpA/104 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA -Atk)
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Hidden Power Grass
-Stealth Rock
Heatran's role on the team is to set up Stealth Rock as quickly as possible. The Evs may seem odd, but I chose them to give him a lot of offensive presence, a bit of speed, and then I dumped the rest into HP to maximize his ability to take hits and dish them back out. I opted for HP Grass to give him a decent move against Waters and Grounds, where as HP Ice was only good for Ground and Dragon. Fire Blast over Flamethrower for more power. It was a tough choice for me between Flash Cannon and Earth Power, but I chose Earth Power to hit Electrics and Fire-types harder.

Keldeo @ Choice Specs
Ability: Justified
EVs: 64 HP/192 SpA/252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)
-Icy Wind
-Hidden Power Dark
-Secret Sword
-Hydro Pump
I originally had a SubCM set, but it wasn't working out at all, so I switched it to a Choise Specs set to give My Little Pony Keldeo immediate power. Secret Sword is an amazing move. It doesn't have great base power (85 is OK...), but it absolutely slaughters Chansey/Blissey and other special walls. Hydro Pump destroys Ground types switching into Heatran. Its accuracy is shaky and it tends to miss in crucial moments, but it still works fine. Surf has also been considered, too, but the drop in BP is noticable. I chose HP Dark because it gives Keldeo the edge on Psychic and Ghost types (looking at you Gengar!) I gave him Icy Wind for extra coverage (GAMEFREAK Y U NO GIVE PONY ICE BEAM?!)

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 216 HP/124 Atk/168 Spe
Jolly Nature (+Spe -SpA)
-Outrage
-Fire Punch
-Iron Head
-Extremespeed
Everything about Dragonite is pretty basic. I gave him an odd EV spread to give him an odd number HP stat so he can switch into SR several times. Outrage is basic STAB. YES! Outrage! Even with all these Fairies running around! So, I gave him Iron Head to smash any Fairies (and Rocks.) Fire punch is especially for Forretress and Ferrothorn, but any Steel, Grass, or Bug really. Extremespeed is a great move due to its +2 Priority and decent BP for a priority (80.)

images

Aegislash @ Leftovers
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/4 Spe
Adamant Nature (+Atk -SpA)
-King's Shield
-Swords Dance
-Iron Head
-Shadow Sneak
HOLY CRAP! This thing is absolutely one of, if not THE best new non-legendary pokemon introduced in Gen 6. Its ability to extremely easily set up and destroy is amazing. A properly timed King's Shield followed by a Swords Dance will EASILY allow you get to +6. Iron Head is the basic stab move for Aegislash with a nice flinch chance and ability to wreck Fairies. Shadow Sneak is really what makes Aegislash great, though. The +1 priority is great, and even with 40 BP, with STAB and Swords dance boosts, it easily becomes a deadly attack.

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA/4SpD/252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe -Atk)
-Trick
-Volt Switch
-Hydro Pump
-Will-O-Wisp
This thing is SO annoying! If you predict Rotom-W's Trick correctly, it can completely disrupt the opponent's pokemon, and sometimes even their whole team! Volt Switch is a great move if your Rotom-W is in a pinch and needs to get out quickly. Hydro Pump is a nice STAB with great power and shaky accuracy. Will-O-Wisp is a great move that cripples many physical attackers. Overall, Rotom-W is a great Support/Disrupt pokemon that contributes to my team greatly.

Togekiss Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP/252 SpA/8 Spe
Modest Nature (+SpA -Atk)
-Thunder Wave
-Air Slash
-Defog
-Roost
Aw man! This thing is annoying as CRAP to face! If it can get in a Thunder Wave, you better prepare yourself for a whole lot of annoy coming your way! Between Paralysis and Air Slash's 60% flinch chance it stinks. Defog works as a pseudo unblockable Rapid Spin. Yes, it removes my Stealth Rock too, but I usually bring Togekiss out late-game, where Stealth Rock doesn't help as much anymore. Roost is there for instant recovery, blah blah blah. The EV spread fives me an odd HP number for multiple Stealth Rock switch ins, a slightly higher speed, and a great Special Attack stat!

Threatlist:
Gengar
: I don't really have anything for him. My best hope is to get in Aegislash and Shadow Sneak him, but that doesn't always work, especially if Aegislash is already KOed.
Garchomp: Eh... my only hope is to Trick onto him a Choice Scarf, but in all honesty that just makes him faster, getting in more hits against my team.
Not a threat, but Sticky Web is NOT good for my team. Slower speed doesn't help with anything.
MY THREATLIST IS STILL IN THE MAKING!

So, feel free to like, comment, or whatever you want to do! This team still needs a lot of help, so any help at all is greatly appreciated! Thank you for taking your time to read this RMT, and keep in mind that this is my first, so I apologize in advance if I did something wrong. Thank all once again! :)

Regarding Garchomp,

Perhaps Greninja over Keldeo may be a solution since it can effectively use STAB Ice Beam. (And for other reasons, as a person who used Keldeo in Gen 5, I know how Jellicent walls it, and similarly Trevenant also walls it as both are resistant (or immune in the case of Water Absorb Jellicent) to your water STAB and immune to your fighting STAB; Greninja doesn't have that problem.) Greninja can also kill Gengar because it is in a higher speed tier and has STAB Dark Pulse. There may be some relevant merits that Keldeo has over Greninja, such as more powerful STAB attacks and being able to hit on the physical side with a fairly good secondard STAB, but it lacks decent coverage moves and therefore is prone to being walled, which makes you lose momentum when Choiced, especially since your other "support" against Ghosts is Aegislash's Shadow Sneak. However, watch out for Weakness Policy Dragonite too, when using either Keldeo's Icy Wind or Greninja's Ice Beam.

Making Rotom-W non-choiced, particularly physically defensive if you want to sponge its unboosted Outrages, gives you more freedom to use Will-O-Wisp without having to find an opportunity to use Trick first, while it would not be set-up bait when it is Choiced when it is using the unreliable Hydro Pump or a victim of a predicted Volt Switch. I am suggesting this as a player who does not use Choice items since it involves high amounts of prediction, although I do like Scarf Genesect as an exception. You should acknowledge the risks of using a Choiced Rotom-W and perhaps relieving it of its Scarf would give you the additional flexibility to deal with Garchomp better, but you will be giving up the potential reward of rending a defensive Pokemon useless. It is your responsibility to evaluate with risk/reward for this change. And in my opinion, a slower Volt Switch is better than a faster Volt Switch.

Also, if you feel that you do not need the recovery on Aegislash or Heatran, Air Balloon may help too, but I do not prefer it. If you feel that you can predict Earthquakes, it may give you a free switch and your opponent will have to waste another turn to pop the balloon. Or you can use other Pokemon that is not weak to Ground attacks if it bothers you that much.

Sticky Web really cripples your team? I find that hard to believe, even if you find having to waste a turn using Defog truly debilitating. Dragonite, Rotom-W, and Togekiss are immune to it. Really, Aegislash is not going to outspeed anything and it is often preferable attack second (so it can sponge the first hit in its Shield Form), and it has priority to mitigate its lack of speed. You did not explain the speed EVs on Heatran so I do not know what do you want it to outspeed or how it will be crippled by Sticky Web. However, Keldeo would notably be crippled by it. Lando-T may be a better replacement for Heatran, but you will be compounding your Ice weakness and they may have to be addressed. Adamant Max Attack investment is necessary if you want to KO Mega-Mawile (if Lando-T is not Intimidated) and can KO Max HP Dragonite and Gyarados with Stone Edge after Stealth Rock damage.

Those are rather simple solutions and they should not affect your playing style or team composition.
