Bulky Offense... kinda (Peaked 1500+)

The aim of this team was to choose 4 walls, 2 physical and 2 special, to make a really strong core that could take on every threat (which this team can, except for a few). Then we add in two bulky offensive Pokemon, 1 special and 1 physical, to complete the team and giving this team an offensive presence.

Team building process:
landorus-therian.gif

Landorus was the starting point of this team. With a great defensive typing and reasonable bulk coupled with Intimidate allows Landorus to take most of the meta-games powerful physical attacks.
landorus-therian.gif
rotom-wash.gif

With Landorus having that glaring 4x weakness to ice I needed a Pokemon that could take ice type moves with ease and my first thought was a specially defensive Rotom-W. Rotom has incredible bulk and with Will-o-Wisp he can cripple the physical attackers as well.

heatran.gif

Now looking at my team I needed a Pokemon that could deal with the grass types that threatened Rotom-W, and even Lando, and Heatran being 4x resistant to grass is exactly what I was looking for.

celebi.gif

The next Pokemon I chose was Celebi because I love F/W/G cores (I know so does everyone else who makes an RMT apparently). This little fairy, who isn't a fairy, makes a very good wall the only problem is that her specially defensive side is better than her physical. So to deal with this I decided to make a change to the team.

slowbro.gif

I changed Rotom-W out for Slowbro as Slowbro's physically defensive bulk is amazing and he has pretty decent typing as well. Slowbro can take all of the physically defensive hits coming his way (except for Crawdaunt's Knock Off which I found out the hard way) and has ridiculous recovery with Slack Off, Leftovers, Regenerator which means Slowbro usually stays around for a while.

conkeldurr.gif

Bring on the first offensive Pokemon on this team, Conkeldurr. As soon as I here bulky attacker my mind goes to Conkeldurr, and so it should. With the base attack stat of 140, what many Pokemon only dream of, Conkeldurr can do some damage. Slap an Assault Vest on him and your golden.

When it came to bulky special attacker my immediate thought was Reuniclus. But as I thought more I had 2 psychic types on the team already and Reuniclus is only bulky when it has max Defense and HP with a couple of Calm Minds up, and I don't want a setup sweeper on this team. So I opted for a Mega Evolution and the one that caught my eye was Mega Ampharos. With Special Attack higher then regular Mewtwo and the locks of a God, Mega Ampharos was perfect on this team.

After testing the team out I was found my team was completely wrecked by substitute Kyurem-B. So to fix this I decided to swap out Celebi for a Specially Defensive orientated Ferrothorn. This checked my Kyurem-B problem and even Greninja too.

Now onto the current team:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Knock Off

Landorus-T was the starting point of this team. With great natural bulk and Intimidate he makes a fantastic physical wall. With max HP and Def Landorus-T can take pretty much any physical hit coming his way. Earthquake for STAB and to be able to deal a lot of damage coming off 326 uninvested attack. Stone Edge is there for coverage against the nasty flying types that think they can stop Landorus. U-turn is there to switch out in bad situations and to gain momentum. Knock Off is there to piss people off and get rid of their items, helpful when facing a Chansey.

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Protect
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock

Heatran is a fantastic special wall and a great team-mate to Landorus-T getting rid of it's 4x weakness to ice. Heatran is able to check most of the meta-games special attackers, including the Lati twins, Charizard Y (even with focus blast it's still a 2HKO after Leftovers), and any psychic type that thinks it's cool enough to take out Heatran. The EV spread maximizes Heatran special walling capabilities. Lava Plume on Heatran for STAB and the 30% chance to burn which is good when physical attackers switch in, other than Conkeldurr. Protect too stall for some Leftovers recovery and to scout which move the opponents using. Toxic is there to get some residual damage on the opponent and is the only Pokemon on the team who can do so, though I want to run Earth Power but the residual damage is too good to pass up. Stealth Rock is there for entry damage which is what this team rely's on to get the opponent's HP down.

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Psychic

This dopey thing can take any physical hit (other than Crawdaunt's Knock Off), and be able to recover like a mad man. The EVs on this guy let's me survive most physical hits and be an awesome wall in general. Slack Off is there for the amazing 50% recovery and coupled with the 33.3% recovery that Regenerator and the Leftovers allow Slowbro to stay in the game almost indefinitely. Scald is for a nice water type STAB and that crucial 30% burn chance. Ice Beam is for the annoying dragons that think they can kill Slowbro and for Landorus and Gliscor. Psychic there for powerful STAB as well as dealing with the very uncommon, but very threatening, Cloyster.

Conkeldurr @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Ice Punch
- Knock Off

Standard Assault Vest Conkeldurr. Conkeldurr is the physical presence of this team and boy does he do it well. With base 140 Attack, I'm surprised Smogon hasn't tested him for performance enhancers. Anyway this EV spread allows Conkeldurr to get the maximum attack he can get whilst maxing out his HP as well. I slapped on an Assault Vest like any sane man would and gave him Guts to be able to take those status' like a champ and power on with that 50% boost he gets. Drain Punch is the main STAB on this set and is very powerful whilst giving Conkeldurr the recovery he lacks. Mach Punch is there for the speedy priority and the ability to revenge kill, and is actually the only priority on this team. Ice Punch is for Landorus and Gliscor and any other flying types that think it's cool to come in on a Drain Punch. Knock Off again to piss everyone off whilst also semi dealing with Aegislash.

Ampharos @ Ampharosite
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Volt Switch

This seemingly harmless beast with the locks of an angel can actually hit extremely hard. With base 165 Special Attack Mega Ampharos can do some damage. This EV Spread maximises it's Special Attack and it's bulk to be able to take a hit, and hit hard back. The moves are pretty standard on an Ampharos. Dragon Pulse was Ampharos's new toy this Gen and Ampharos gets STAB off of it as soon as it Mega's. Thunderbolt is still the main move on this set and does massive damage to any Poke that doesn't resist it. Focus Blast is for Ferrothorn and other annoying Steel types that stand in Mega Ampharos's way. Volt Switch is for momentum and to switch out on incoming counters.

ferrothorn___power_whip_by_ishmam-d5zmcwn.png

Ferrothorn @ Leftovers
Ability: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 50 Def / 208 SDef
Careful Nature
- Power Whip
- Spikes
- Protect
- Leech Seed

Ah, Ferrothorn. I have a love/hate relationship towards this guy. I love him on my side of the field, and I hate him on the other. This guy is one of the best walls in the game, in my opinion. This EV Spread maxes out Ferrothorn's HP and getting his defense over the 300 mark whilst boosting his special defense really high as well, allowing him to take hits from both sides of the spectrum. Power Whip is for STAB and so Ferrothorn isn't taunt bait. Spikes is another entry hazard and coupled with Heatran's Stealth Rocks can cause some hefty amount of damage on switch for some Pokemon. Protect is to stall for leftovers recovery and Leech Seed if it's there.

Well that's the team, It can do with a lot more tweaking imo but it's pretty good how it is. Here is some other Pokemon I have been considering:
latias.gif

Latias @ Life Orb (Swap for Ampharos)
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SAtk / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Dragon Pulse/Draco Meteor
- Recover
- Surf
- Psyshock

venusaur-mega.gif

Venusaur @ Venusaurite (Swap for Ferrothorn)
Ability: Overgrow
EVs 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Def
Sassy Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Earthquake
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis
or
Venusaur @ Venusaurite (Swap for Lando-T/Slowbro)
Ability: Overgrow
EVs 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Earthquake
- Giga Drain
- Synthesis

chansey.gif

Chansey @ Eviolite (Swap for any Walls)
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef / 4 HP
Bold/Calm Nature
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell
- Toxic

gliscor.gif

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb (Swap for Landorus-T)
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- Knock Off
- Toxic
- Protect

Threats to this team:
crawdaunt.gif

Not much I can do when I see this crab. I just gotta get an Intimidate off with Lando and I have a chance. This could be solved with Mega Venusaur resisting Water and doesn't get the Knock Off effect.
venusaur-mega.gif

This guy is a problem for my team. I have to hope it's Physically Defensive and get some big Dragon Pulses on it with Mega Amp. Having Latias on the team would help with this as well
kyurem-black.gif

This is also a problem for my team as it carry's the Ice Beam for Lando, the Fusion Bolt for Slowbro and the Earth Power for Heatran. This is a problem for my team as Ferrothorn can't do anything back other than Power Whip twice to break a Sub.

Well there are the flaws of this team and some Pokemon I've been considering, hope you guys can help!

I really like your team. One thing I've learned is I've ran a mega ampharos for a while and it seemed to get picked off quick and once you mega the speed drop really hurts the volt switching. I think latias would be a good switch, and losing the tbolt won't hurt your team too much considering gyarados usually megas anyway and latias gives you a check to the mega Venusaur that everyone's using now. You can also hit the kyurem with a Draco meteor pretty well

Pretty nice team you have there!
You could try running Gyro Ball instead of Power whip on Ferrothorn just so you can somehow deal with Kyurem-B. Else I agree with the above poster, you could swap out Mega Ampharos for Latias (or Latios if you'd fancy a little more power) to be able to deal with Mega Venusaur and Kyurem-B effectively.

I have another idea for ferrothorn: gyro ball > spikes.
I think spikes are useless because defoggers are immune (for flying tipe or levitate, and scizor can roost if you switch) and they can use thier move on a switch . I usually give both the attacks cause power whip helps a lot with bulky water / ground and it's 2 okho on azumarill and gyro ball for kyu b and fairies .

I think that if you are runnig to insert one of the latwins instead of mega amphy you must change slowbro with another water phisical defender like unaware quagsire or introduce again tom w.

I think you can try to use the core av goodra + zapdos instead of slowbro + amphy.
They give you the boltbeam coverage, and the precious defog. (Goodra can learn muddy water if you need a water move).
