Hello guys, Saikyoora here. After a few months missing Pokemon in my life I decided to have a comeback. Some things have changed and I just saw a new Pokemon - Volcanion. My first toughts about Volcanion was like: "It's a Heatran with other typ combination". Well, I decided to test Volcanion and so my team was born.

Well, the first sorry for my english. I live in germany and english is not my native language :D
I made this team and post it here because I really want to know, what could I do better, why it is better and what should I change. Tbh, I never was up to 1673 on ladder and for now I need to know if this team is "good" or not. I have to give a special thanks to the Competitive turoting Room, they gave me really good ideas and suggestions for teambulding and do good plays, thanks a lot. This team is my first team since a few months.

I will try to explain the teambuilding progress:
The Beginning:
- The Pokemon I choose to build around was Volcanion - I had a look into the movepool and stats and I decided to play it as a Bulky Wallbreaker.
The first part of the core:
- My next step was to cover my wallbreaker in a good working core! The origin of the core was Volcanion and Quagsire, but I missed 2 important things. 1. Quagsire can't deal with strong Ground attacks 2. I need momentum to bring my wallbreaker in. I decided to kick Quagsire out and put Lando-T in. A part of the core was born, Volcanion+Lando-T
The last member:
- I looked which treats can I check with Lando-T and I just saw that this core have many problems with electric types! Raikou, Rotom-W, mMane and last but not least Thundy! I tried Celebi but Nasty Plot Thundy is a huge problem for Celebi because Celebi can't hit hard enough back. After some calcs I decided to put Mega-Venusaur in. Mega-Venusaur checks Thundy and mMane, give me a Spore immu, give me Leech Seed Immu, calls out Heatran and is a good check against Keldeo. The complete core was born, Volcanion+Lando-T+mVenu.
The Bulky Offense Flow:
- I didn't "want" to build Bulky Offense, my first toughts was to go on Balanced but I let the "flow" of bulding Bulky Offense continue.
The Trapper:
- Rotom-W was my 4th Pokemon to check Birdspam, I tested it some fights along but in the Competitive tutoring - Room someone told me I better use Stallbreaker Heatran to trap Chansey. Chansey checks Volcanion pretty good and so I put Stallbreaker Heatran in.
After a while, I tried Banded Tyranitar to trap Chansey AND Latias/Latios. Banded Tyranitar also can kick up the Sand Storm and helps to more dmg. So I run Tyranitar.
The Hazard Remover:
- With U-Turn, Tyranitar and Mega-Venu I have 3 Pokemons who don't like hazard stacking. So many switches, I need a Spinner/Defoger. Well, tbh... I just use 2 Spinner/Defoger. Latios or Starmie. Starmie would be great against Offense and don't remove my own SR but Latios have more bulk and fits better in it. With Starmie I would have another electric weak, so I decided to put Latios in.
The horrible last Pokemon:
- The last mon was horrible! Really! Cleafble, Jirachi, Weavile.... I tried many Pokemon. My Problem was, I needed some speed in my Team, I wanted a Pokemon that can clean after Ttar and Volcanion do dmg. I checked many things: Rotom-W take a ton from mVenu and even from Specs Volcanion. Latios/Latias are trapped by Ttar and Volcanion do good dmg.... Well, after this I put Scrafed Keldeo in. I can spam Scald and Steam Eruption (Burns for everyone), I can clean with Scarf Keldeo, I have speed with Keldeo and Keldeo is bulky enough to survive some hits. I choosed Keldeo!
Well, this was not all in 1 day. I tested many options but this is the "main" progress.

Let's continue with the team in deep:

Landorus-Therian @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 SpD
Impish Nature
IVs: 30 Spe
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
A awesome Pokemon! Lando-T is a very important part of my core that I decided to build around. Lando-T put the rocks on the field and is my main check to Excadrill. U-Turn give me momentum for Volcanion and do some dmg while going out. 30 Ivs are important here, so I can bring Volcanion in defense Lando-T while my Lando-T is taking the hit before or I can bring another Pokemon if my opponent U-Turn out faster. EQ is a strong stab moves against Exca, Ttar or Heatran. I play Rock Slide over Stone Edge. Stone Edge misses too much and Rock Slide have a nice flinch bonus. It's clearly weaker then Stone Edge but Landos main object isn't hit hard. 252 HP Investment for the maximum bulk. 240 Def+ Intimitade is enough to handle physical threats without Ice or Water Stab. The last 16 Evs are put into Sp.def. More physical def isn't needed, I don't wanna speed so I put the last 16 Evs on Sp.def for more bulk there. Landos Ground Imu and his ability to handle physical Threats are the main reasons why I run it in my team, it fits perfect with Volcanion. Lando is also able to let Volcanion "sweep" while reduce the atk of his opponents so it can tank some more hits or 1 EQ if needed. Garchomp could be used too but it laggs recovery and don't have a Ground Imu. Intimitade is a pretty good ability and helps extremly against Charizard X.

Volcanion @ Choice Specs
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 72 HP / 252 SpA / 184 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Steam Eruption
- Fire Blast
- Sludge Wave
- Earth Power
The second part of the core. Volcanions main part is to hit as hard as possible and that's why I run Choice Specs! Not many can switch safe into Steam Eruption without getting 2HKO even thanks to Burn. Steam Eruption is the main stab in the first few rounds. Fire Blast is the second strong stab to hit Grass, Steels, Water Absorb Pokis and when Steam Eruption is out of PP. Sludge Wave is for coverage speciliy for Fairys like Azumarill or Clefable. Sludge Wave can also be used if you want a guaranteed hit. Earth Power is for other Volcanions, to guaranteed hit Heatran and for electric types if necessary. I told you Volcanion is my wallbreaker so, what a surprise, 252 evs in Sp.atk + Modest to make the dmg output so high as it can. 184 Evs in speed are to outspeed defensive Landos, but be carefull. The rest Evs are put in HP for more bulk and Volcanion can be bulky! 0 Ivs in Atk to minimize the Foul Play damage which is helped by a negative attack nature. I'm not sure if I run 248 HP Volc. because there are some offensive SR Landos and so I don't know if its worth to run so much speed on Volcanion.

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll / Thick Fat
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 20 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 30 SpA / 30 Spe
- Sludge Bomb
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Synthesis
Yeah... right... I'm a mVenu lover!
Electric types with HP Ice such Raikou, mMane and Thundurus would beat Lando-T+Volcanion easy. Mega-Vensuaur is my electric check specily my Thundurus check. Mega-Venus have many rols in my team. It checks Waterspam like Manaphy, Keldeo, Azumarill and Suicune. It checks Electric typ. It is my Mega-Altaria check, it is my Clefable check and Venusaur covers Lando-T's weaks good. Ice is very effective against Lando-T and thank to Thick Fat Venusaur is able to handle some Ice Attacks if needed. Well, let me say Venusaur is like a Volcanion 2.0 for Lando-T, so I do not need to switch Volcanion so often in super effectiv attacks against Lando-T. Mega-Venusaur also profite from Intimitade, so with Intimitade Mega-Venusaur can handle physical attackers better and act like a check to Excadrill and offensive Lando-T's. With Mega-Venusaur I don't need to switch Volcanion into Azumarill and fear the Knock off. The given evs spread is to maximal the dmg output and bulk. 252 Sp.Atk with a modest nature helps Venusaur to do dmg as much as it can and heal, thanks to Giga Drain. 232 HP is for the bulk it really need. 20 speed evs are to outspeed Azumarill. 0 Atk Ivs for less Foul Play dmg. Sludge Bomb and Giga Drain a good stab moves to hit Fairys and bulky waters. Synthesis is fore recovery and HP Fire is for Sciz and Ferro. I choose the offensive mVenu while I think it checks Bulky waters like Mega-Slowbro better. Offensive Mega-Venu also fits better in the team then defensive.

Tyranitar @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 180 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Pursuit
- Superpower
- Stone Edge
- Crunch
Tyranitar is there to trap Chansey, the only thing that can switch in safe into Specs Volcanion, and the Lati twins to prevent Defog. Tyranitar is also my Draco switch in and thats why I run 180 HP investment. The extra dmg cause of Sand Stream is very nice to break Sash or guarantee OHKOS. I run Tyranitar over Heatran because I think Tyranitar deals much better with Stall, then Stallbreaker Heatran. Banded Pursuit can do really high dmg. As I said before, 180 HP investment is to survive a Draco Meteor from Latios with more HP. 252 Atk with a positive nature increases the dmg output. 76 speed evs are to outspeed Skarm. Outspeeding Skarm can be important because Ttar don't run EQ so you can predict a roost. Stone Edg, Crunch or Pursuit can be enough to beat/weaken Skarm with over 600 Atk. In comination with Lando-T, Tyranitar is able to handle Mega-Metagross but I have do play carefully around.

Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 29 HP / 0 Atk
- Roost
- Defog
- Psyshock
- Draco Meteor
I needed a defoger so here it is. tbh, 80% of the time I play with Latios as defoger. Latios give me another Ground imu and some other important ressits like electric, psychic and water. Latios is also a soft check to Keldeo if needed (Be carefull of Icy wind). Latios brings me some more extra speed what this team really need and a good dmg output. 29 HP Ivs are to lower the LO recoil. 252 Sp.Atk with Life-Orb is important to hit hard. Psychock is to hit fairys, Chansey, mVenu and to make sure you hit. 252 speed with a positive nature is very important to give Latios and the team speed! Latios can speedtie with non HP fire Diancie, Gengar, other Latios and outspeed Keldeo which all of them could be a problem to switch in so I have a 50/50 chance to win the tie.

Keldeo-Resolute @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Justified
Happiness: 0
EVs: 64 HP / 252 SpA / 192 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Scald
- Hydro Pump
- Secret Sword
- Icy Wind
Really Bisharp weak would now some people say... Yeah I notice that after a few fights.... Keldeo have to come in. I choose Keldeo because I don't have to switch out other things to fix the Bisharp weak - another reason why I chose Keldeo is that Keldeo is a good cleaner and with Choice Scarfed pretty good against offense. I run Icy Wind and scarfed because a my slow Team lagging T.wave support. Ttar, mVenu and Volcanion so can have a "speedboost" if needed or if the game allows. Icy Wind is also to hit Latios and Torn-T to weaken them for Volcanion. Keldeo can pressure other teams with his speed and offense power. The spread is... improved by myself... 252 Sp.atk evs for more dmg output. 192 speed is enough to outspeed Charizard X at +1 and the whole metagame unboosted, so I decided to run 64 HP for more overall bulk. So if neeeded I can switch better into Weavile, Bisharp and Sciz. Scald is the main Stab in the first rounds, Scald+Steam Eruption is a good burnspam combo! Hydro Pump to do more dmg and to finish other Pkmns off and Icy Wind is to lure Latios/Torn-T and hit them. Icy Wind also can be used on other pkms to give Volcanion or Ttar a "speedboost" . If you see that Keldeos work is done or it can't switch another time in, then you can click Icy Wind for help Volcanion do the rest. Usually its not needed Kledeo is my cleaner and Bisharp check, both work pretty good.

- Mega Gardevoir, nothing against it. Try to play arround and keep Volcanion healthy.
- Specs Sylveon with Psychock. Better to handle but if you lose mVenu could be hard.
- How to beat Stall: Well, Volcanion+Banded Tar can deal with it. Try to catch and Trap Chansey with Ttar. Pursuit on a Chansey who stays in do about 25% try to predict the Chansey switch ins and pressuere it with Ttar and rocks.
- Kyurem-B, no switch in better sack something not anymore needed and pressure it with Kledeo.
- Charizard Y, Latios can tank 1 hit in Sun, Ttar can stop the Sun and Volcanion can tank 1 Solarbeam.
- Charizard X, use intimitade+Tyranitar.
- Mega-Diancie, keep mVenu heatlhy and don't lose Kledeo.
- Sand: You spend the sand by yourself, be carefull in switch in Ttar. Use Lando-T with Intimitade+mVenu and Keldeo.
- Bisharp, keep Keldeo healthy.
- Mega-Medicham, work with Lando-T,mVenu and Volcanion
