ORAS OU Bulky Offense Team

Hello everybody, I'm new here and quite new to competitive battling. This is one of the few teams I have assembled for ORAS online battles (Pokemon Showdown and ORAS PSS Link Battles). I dont have a particular " star " Pokemon on my team, and I avoid using legendaries. I would appreciate it if someone notices this and rate my team and give me some advice.

gliscor.jpg

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Protect
- Knock Off
Gliscor is my set up, lead Pokemon. It has amazing Defense and an amazing hidden ability, Poison Heal, which actually heals it and prevents other opponents from inflicting a status condition on it. Stealth Rock to deal some damage to the opponent while switching in and limits switch-ins. Earthquake as a powerful STAB move. Protect to heal with the Poison Heal and Knock Off to remove any annoying items that the opposing Pokemon may have. 244 EVs in HP for maximum survivality. 40 Defense EVs to raise its base Defense ever higher, so it can be a better physical tank. The rest are poured into Speed to outspeed others so that it can set up Stealth Rock safely. Of course, I wouldn't bring Gliscor in when I predict a potential super effective water or ice type move.

250px-530Excadrill.png

Excadrill @ Assault Vest
Ability: Mold Breaker
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 44 SpD / 208 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Rapid Spin
Excadrill is my Rapid Spinner and a Physical Sweeper. Assault Vest to tank some special hits. Earthquake as a powerful STAB, same for Iron Head. Rock Slide for a good chance to flinch and coverage, while Rapid Spin for its main purpose. 208 EVs in Speed to outspeed a good number of Pokemons, 252 EVs in Attack to terrorise the opponents. 4 HP EVs for extra HP and the rest are poured into Special Defense, since it already has Assault Vest. Again, I wouldn't bring him in when the opponent has Earthquake or something similar.

250px-593Jellicent.png

Jellicent @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 248 HP / 216 Def / 4 SpA / 40 SpD
Bold Nature
- Recover
- Will-O-Wisp
- Taunt
- Hex
Jellicent is my spin-blocker and a status inflictor, as well as a bulky tank. Recover to heal itself and to stay on the field for as long as possible. Will-O-Wisp is to cripple physical attackers and Hex to deal good damage. Taunt to prevent any set up moves or status moves. 248 EVs in HP for maximum survivality. It's base Special Defense is already awesome, 216 Defense EVs to raise its physical bulk. 4 Special Attack EVs to deal a little more damage and the rest are poured into Special Defense.

250px-706Goodra.png

Goodra @ Assault Vest
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpA
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Pulse

Goodra is my special tanker and a special sweeper. Assault Vest raises its already amazing Special Defense to a whole new level. The moves are just for coverage and Dragon Pulse is a powerful STAB move. Flamethrower covers Steel types, a type that resists Dragon type moves, in which it has Dragon Pulse, not resisted by many. Ice Beam kills other Dragons while Thunderbolt covers bulky Water types. 248 EVs in HP for maximum survivality, again. 8 Defense EVs just to tank some weaker physical hits, and the rest are poured into Special Attack to hit hard.

212Scizor_Pokemon_Mystery_Dungeon_Explorers_of_Time_and_Darkness.png

Scizor @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 12 Atk / 244 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Bullet Punch
- X-Scissor
- Swords Dance
- Roost
Scizor is going to Mega Evolve as soon as it enters the field. It is a bulky set-up physical sweeper that has Technician, boosting Bullet Punch's power to a good value, while X-Scissor is for a powerful STAB. Swords Dance raises its Attack to a dangerous level and Roost to heal itself. Maximum EVs in HP for maximum survivality. 244 EVs in special defense to resist some special hits, since it has a nice base 140 Defense, for mega Scizor. The rest are poured into Attack, to hit harder.

250px-197Umbreon.png

Umbreon @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 144 Def / 112 SpD
Impish Nature
- Heal Bell
- Wish
- Foul Play
- Toxic
I know Umbreon should hold Leftovers, but you can only get one Leftovers in the game, although there is a very slight 1% chance of picking up Leftovers but I'm not going to spend days doing that. (This is in the ORAS game itself) This Umbreon is a support to my team and also a status inflictor. Rocky Helmet punishes contact attackers. Heal Bell heals my team of any status conditons, Wish heals any Pokemon that are weakened, Foul Play deals great damage to physical sweepers while Toxic deals damage slowly but surely. Umbreon has high enough defenses to tank a few hits.

That would be all, please tell me what do you think about my team and give me advices if necessary. Like I said, I'm quite new to competitive battling and not very experienced. Thanks in advance!

Could you expand your descriptions please? They're a bit lacking.
Also, clefable is better than umbreon. It has a better typing and movepool. One thing that I noticed is that you cannot hit Landorus therian or garchomp. I recommend putting in some ice coverage or weavile somewhere.

-You could pokegen a leftovers for umbreon if you wanted. If not, can't you ask someone here to trade you one? Not that Rocky Helmet is bad, at least not to me, but Leftovers is better so I'd try to get a second one asap.

-Bug Bite is stronger than X-Scissor on Scizor after Technician boost, if I'm not mistaken. I dont wanna do the math, but I'm pretty sure after technician and STAB, Bug Bite becomes base 135 while X-Scissor after STAB is base 120.

-Also Dragons run through your team, as you have no Ice moves anywhere. Maybe put Ice Beam on your Jellicent over Hex? Or add in Clefable over Umbreon, and give it Magc Guard and hold a Life Orb if you're worried about not having another leftovers.

I'm not as experienced either, so I'm not totally sure how to improve this team. To me it looks pretty good, I kinda wanna borrow it and battle if you're ok with that. Have you tried it yet? If so, what results have you gotten with it?

Yeap, Bug Bite would have 135 base power on Scizor, thanks for pointing that out. Perhaps I will try to get another Leftovers for Umbreon, but I'm not going to Pokegen one. I've used this team a few teams and it is quite effective against other similar teams. But the others may be more inexperienced than me and that may be why I actually won a few.

Hmm I put in Ice Beam for Goodra, so that should be able to hit Garchomp and Landorus-T hard. Also, I expanded my descriptions by a little, I hope it's enough. Also, do you have a good moveset for Clefable? I may be using that.

Run magic guard calm mind. It's on the smogon Dex, and the sets calm mind, moonlight, moonblast, and flamethrower.
Also run a spread of max hp and defence on gliscor. That speed isn't doing anything useful.

Hmm then how about Wish passers and cleric supports?

I shall run max HP max Defense on Gliscor then.

I have in mind a change. If you run gengar over jellicent, you can exert more offensive presence while still maintaining the spin block. If you do this, run slowbro over goodra, as it gives you a typing boost.
Run max hp and special defence on excadrill.
Yet another thing you can do is turn it into a stall or semistall team. By running mega sableye over jellicent and skarmory over scizor, you have a nice stall core.

Hmm why max HP and special defense on Excadrill? Also, what is a good set for the spin blocker Gengar? Are the other members fine and fit in with the bulky offense strategy?

Max hp and SpD maximises the amount of times excadrill can switch in and tank hits.
Just use life orb sludge bomb shadow ball focus blast and taunt.
To me, this team looks a bit like a mix between semi stall and bulky offence. Your mons can tank hits, but can't really do heavy damage. I think u focused more on the bulk part, but it's ok n_n

I will follow your advice then. Like what others said, " Defense is the best Offense ", and I myself believe in that. That's why I focused more on bulk.

Your team is skateing on thin ice Dealing with Fighting types like mega lopunny, breloom, Conkeldurr, and, most importantly, Mega Medicham.

252+ Atk Pure Power Mega Medicham Zen Headbutt vs. 252 HP / 216+ Def Jellicent: 223-264 (55.1 - 65.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Granted, Jellicent can check it, but the rest of your team, excluding Scizor, is easily OHKOed, provided it's running ice punch for Gliscor

I'd recommend running Phys. Def Mew to alleviate this problem, probably over Excadrill, or, more likely, Jellicent.

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 148 Def / 108 Spe
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled
- Psychic
- Defog/U-Turn/Volt Switch/Filler
