Bulky Offense Team

~Introduction~

So as things go and such in the meta game, I decided to make a new team for myself. Mainly because I haven't really had an updated team in a while, so I am going to start off with a fresh one, this time I decided to make a bulky offense team. So hopefully this can do good in today's meta game as things go. And I can also focus on counters which are a threat to this team as I am core building. As for the I can make supporters that go around with the team to help. Which leads me to better team building and structure.

Azelf @ Choice Band 4 hp/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd Jolly Nature
Ability: Levitate

Move set:

-Zen Headbutt
-U-turn
-Fire Punch
-Explosion

Basically a lead that can counter many of today's top leads, lead Machamp is a priority because this way Azelf can go straight out for Zen Headbutt which would be a KO. I can also U-turn under some occasions right out to stealth rock, under these occasions, U-turning would be important on leads like Roserade, Azelf, Jirachi, etc, mainly things that I could U-turn out safely to, so I can get up Stealth rocks. Mainly things I can U-turn out safely so Heatran can take hits from these particular leads in today's meta game. And one of the most safest way of getting up stealth rocks on this team.

Heatran: @ Shuca Berry Naive Nature
4 hp/ 252 SpA/ 252 Spd
Ability: Flash Fire

Move set:

-Stealth Rock
-Fire Blast
-Earth Power
-Explosion

Just mainly a mid-game stealth rocker I have for this team, shuca berry is a good item for setting up stealth rocks easier to survive some earthquakes. And revenge things I can get out of the way. This is also an important support to this team, can mainly check jirachi, scizor, metagross, etc, mainly things that heatran can pretty much easily check to support the other things that are threatened by these. Safely using this set will hopefully successfully get heatran's job done well too.

Tyranitar: @ Choice Scarf Jolly Nature
4 Hp/ 252 Atk/ 252 Speed
Ability: Sand Stream

Move Set:

-Stone Edge
-Superpower
-Crunch
-Pursuit

Tyranitar is a pretty good choice scarf user when it comes to revenging. despite its 61 Base speed, it can come to pretty decent speeds with jolly nature, I have it mainly to wall jolteon out a little bit, and will be able to take some hits from other jolteons. The only problem it might have with jolteon is Life orb charge beam, mainly because it can't take boosted SpA and thunderbolt, which would probably do a lot of damage. I also consider tyranitar on this team for beating Zapdos , just because zapdos can't do much to it, and I can 2 hit ko or 1 hit ko with stone edge depending on stealth rocks on the defensive sets, would probably be a 2 hit KO without Stealth rocks on the field.

Shaymin: @ Life Orb, Timid Nature
4 Hp/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpA
Ability: Natural Cure

Move set:
-Seed Flare
-Earth Power
-Hidden Power (Ice)
-Rest

This is a pretty good set on Shaymin. Seed Flare can check a lot of bulky waters, that threaten Heatran and other parts of the team. Rest gives a good edition if I want to heal, and switch so I can use shaymin a lot more.
Hidden Power Ice supports dragon types like flygon and dragonite. So this way I can get good coverage with Shaymin, and makes it really usable. Shaymin also is here mainly to check offensive suicune, again, that threatens heatran, and can check Cro Cune from setting up anywhere.

Suicune: @ Leftovers, Timid Nature
4 Hp/ 252 Spd/ 252 SpA
Ability: Pressure

Move Set:

-Calm Mind
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Hidden Power (Electric)

Suicune can help this team a lot by checking Physically bulky pokemon and other set up sweepers. I mainly have it to beat Gyrados, Gliscor, Dragonite, and it can deal with skarmory, not that it would give me to much problems since I run heatran. But Surf/ Ice beam beats gliscor, Ice beam can check set up dragonite like dragon dance, and hidden power gives good coverage on checking gyrados as heatran and other things leave gyrados as set up fodder, so this leaves suicune as an excellent spot in this team.

479rotom-fire1.png

Rotom-Heat: @ Leftovers, Bold Nature
252 Hp/ 168 Def/ 88 Spd
Ability: Levitate

Move Set:

-Willo-Wisp
-Discharge
-Shadow Ball
-Overheat

Rotom can give excellent support to this team, mainly because it can support a lot of other pokemon on this team. Because it can check Agility Metagross the best and willo-wisp will cripple it. Lucario can threaten this team as well, but luckily having Rotom, willo-wisp can burn the Swords Dance set which can give the team a problem. Not only does Rotom check bulky waters, it checks Gyrados, and can cripple most physically offensive set up sweepers. Which is good to help and support my team.

Hello //Kng//Lemon// recieved your PM. Interesting team you have yourself, I have a few suggestions that may help your team out! Few months ago my friend Plus' had a pretty similar team to this, one thing I noticed then was the trouble against DD Salamence. We all know it's banned as of now but to a lesser extent DD Dragonite gives your team the same amount of trouble. Even Chesto Rest Kingdra can harm this team to a lesser extent. Dragonite sweeps against this particular team would generally depend on it's item wether it has Life Orb or Lum Berry rather then the other moves would provide it that smooth guaranteed 2-3hko's possibly even more if used right. Dragonite generally sets up against Tyranitars Superpower or Pursuit or Azelf's Fire Punch and if it has Lum Berry it can set up against Rotom. After one Dragon Dance Life Orb Dragonite can ko' Rotom, Suicune, and Shaymin from Outrage and your only resist Heatran is 2hko'd by Outrage. So you can clearly tell that DD Dragonite is a problem. Similar situation for Chesto Rest Kingdra and due to Chesto Berry+Rest you would have ko'ing this pokemon.

With this said I would suggest you use Choice Scarf Flygon. Which benefits Azelf allowing you to scout quite efficently. While Tyranitar is dwarfed by those two Dragon Dance threats, Flygon wouldn't have a problem and revenge kill rather easily. In your Tyranitar description you state " I have it mainly to wall jolteon out a little bit, and will be able to take some hits from other jolteons." Well even with Tyranitars Rock Type SpD boost you are still 2hko'd by Choice Specs Jolteon after Stealth Rock damage by Thunderbolt and Timid Jolteon out speeds Scarf Tyranitar. By using Flygon you will provide your team with the necessary Electric immune allowing you to deal with Jolteon and Zapdos and providing you the necessary revenge kills which Tyranitar can't do. While switching to this you would have trouble against SD Lucario so I would suggest you follow Fried Rhys' idea about using Scarf Rotom.

Flygon @ Choice Scarf | Levitate
Jolly | 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Speed
U-turn | Earthquake | Outrage | Stone Edge

Good Luck :toast:

Notable Problems

  • Dragon Dancers
This team is solid enough already that the only noticeable threat I could identify was, as others have mentioned, opposing Dragon Dancers; Tyranitar and Dragonite are the main ones here. With some residual damage (not unlikely, considering both are late-game threats) and careful playing, they can easily sweep through a significant portion of your team.

Suggestions

  • Replace Rotom
I feel that Rotom is probably the easiest member of your team to replace, if needed. Spinblocking isn't necessary, as you aren't utilizing multiple entry hazards, and the Dragon Dancer weakness is pretty major. Also, I just wanted to point this out really quickly:

Rotom can give excellent support to this team, mainly because it can support a lot of other pokemon on this team. Lucario can threaten this team as well, but luckily having Rotom, willo-wisp can burn the Swords Dance set which can give the team a problem.

Lucario typically carries Crunch, and can outspeed Rotom for a OHKO, so don't depend on it as a check.

I think that a good replacement would be a fast revenge killer such as Scarf Flygon. It would give you a way to check Dragonite and Tyranitar with Outrage and Earthquake, respectively, while being able to scout opposing teams with U-Turn.

Good luck with your team!
