Here's an nu team that I'm relatively proud of, despite it not doing too well on the ladder. Any feedback would be great :)
Poke 1:
Kawaii (Audino) @ Audinite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Wish
- Heal Bell
- Toxic
- Protect
Kicking off the list is mega audino. I've always valued audino's role as a wish passer, and I wanted to capitalize on it's role as a wish passer/ toxic staler, rather than some bulky moonblast thing. Its just your typical wish pass set. I chose toxic over some damage move to be able to stall out mega camerupt, which audino walls fairly well.
Poke 2:
Gurderp (Gurdurr) @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 20 HP / 236 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Bulk Up
Next on the list is good ol bulk up gurdurr. Gurdurr is good for absorbing any status coming from anything trying to counterstall audino. Bulk up is good for setting up on things like substitue virizion or other similar bulky offensive pokemon. Knock off is to get rid of as many leftovers as humanly possible, and drain punch for powerful stab recovery and mach punch for ever so necessary priority.
Poke 3:
Turdle (Torkoal) @ Leftovers
Ability: Shell Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
Torkoal is one of my favorite pokes to use for the same reason people love to use physically defensive Rotom-w. Reason is, it completely stops any physical presence and threatens it out with a will-o (exclude gurdurr w/ guts). Then, on the predicted switch out you can get up free rocks or get off a free rapid spin.
Poke 4:
Kill Me (Weezing) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
- Will-O-Wisp
- Clear Smog
- Sludge Wave
- Pain Split
Now, I know what you're thinking, "What's the point of having both weezing and torkoal?" Well, for 1, torkoal is weak to rocks and lacks good self recovery, which limits the amount of times it can independently switch in without having a wish passed into it. Weezing is basically a second wall that can be used in place of tokoal. Weezing also has the ability to neutralize setup pokemon via clear smog, which is really nice. Also, weezing's immunity to ground makes it a good partner for torkoal.
Poke 5:
Derp (Cradily) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Storm Drain
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 SpD
Modest Nature
- Giga Drain
- Ancient Power
- Earth Power
- Sludge Bomb
One of my favorite pokemon paired up with one of my favorite items. Cradily's already massive spec def makes it extremely dangerous when paired with assault vest. Giga drain, ancient power, earth power, and sludge bomb all did very well coverage wise when I tested this set and assault vest cradily proved to be one of the more dangerous things on my team.
Poke 6:
Fig Newton (Kadabra) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
- Dazzling Gleam
Last but certainly not least we have focus sash kadabra. Magic Guard is my personal favorite ability ever because it gives you the freedom to freely switch in on a predicted status without having to worry about rocks or anything. Kadabra does very well at countering weezing, one of the biggest annoyances in the game, which is a reason why I chose psychic over the commonly run psyshock. Shadowball for things like Xatu and Misagius, Energy Ball for Seismitoad and Regirock, and Dazzling Gleam for anythin like a Gabite that might be floating around in NU.
Well, there's my team, its not that good, but lemme know what yall think :)
