Team Building Process
I wanted to build a team revolving around Heatran and Landorus-T as a sort of defensive core. Landorus-T for physical hits abusing intimidate and Heatran for special hits. The synergy between these two is so strong as Landorus-T is immune to Heatran's ground weakness and resistant to his fighting weakness. Heatran can easily switch into an ice attack aimed at Landorus-T.
The next step was covering the obvious weakness these two can't cover together, a water attack. What better pokemon to take a water attack than a water pokemon? The next pokemon I added was Rotom-W. With a resist to water and another earth immunity for Heatran. Rotom-W fits nicely into the team as the final unit for the core.
For the next pokemon on my team I needed something physical to balance out my numbers a bit more and since special walls are more common with the rise of fairies. (Not saying this guy is a fairy counter) I added Conkeldurr. With Guts as another status absorbing option, access to Knock Off and crazy physical attack. Conk brings so much to the table. He can easily take a special hit with assault vest and take out some of the best physical walls. Who doesn't love yelling timburr?
Next I added Klefki because it has the best typing in the game and both of it's weaknesses I have immunities to. Thunder Wave spam is a huge asset to my not so fast team. So I decided to run the gimmick set because it really trolls a whole load if physical attackers right now and at minimum slows down their team.
Finally I needed a mega pokemon. The best choice Mega-Lucario would've added another ground weakness to my team. I also really wanted a cleric to help this team with it's recovery and grind game. Then I realized I could have the best of both worlds with Mega-Gardervoir. Bringing a whopping 165 base special attack and really solid special defense. She fills this roll perfectly.
The Team
Pompeii (Heatran) @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Earth Power - Lava Plume - Roar - Stealth Rock
Pretty standard set special defensive set. Went with leftovers over air balloon because of two ground immune pokemon. Lava Plume for STAB. Over flamethrower because of the higher burn chance. Earth Power for coverage. Roar and Stealth Rock combo great together as if I can force a switch and set up rocks I can start phasing with roar against slower pokemon later in the game. It's also great on a switch in/u-turn to disrupt strategies.
Were-doge (Landorus-Therian) @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
IVs: 0 SAtk
- Earthquake - Knock Off - Stealth Rock - U-turn
While a second stealth rock setter is uncommon with all the defogers running around it's been pretty useful. The EVs are for a leftover set. Knock Off has been amazing as nobody expects it on him. Earthquake for STAB. U-Turn for little pokes and abusing the core.
Rinse Cycle (Rotom-Wash) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump - Volt Switch - Trick - Will-O-Wisp
While Trick and Will-O-Wisp do conflict, the ability to take an opposing pokemon out of the game is so powerful with trick and Will-O-Wisp is so good with the heavy offense right now. I could possibly switch WoW to HP Ice though. Convince me. Hydro Pump for STAB and it hits really hard with the specs. Volt Switch for STAB and nifty checks.
Timburr ft. Ke$ha (Conkeldurr) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Guts
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 8Def / 244 SDef
Adamant Nature
IVs: 0 SAtk
- Drain Punch - Mach Punch - Knock Off - Ice Punch
Pretty standard Conkeldurr set. EV's are to give Genesect a SAtk boost. Drain Punch for recovery and under assault vest its just amazing. Mach Punch for priority. Knock Off just trolls walls especially those Evoltile walls. Ice Punch for coverage on a switch in.
#yoloswagkey (Klefki) @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 200 HP / 252 Def / 56 SDef
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 SAtk
- Swagger - Substitute - Thunder Wave - Foul Play
The gimmick god himself. The EVs are for a leftover set. The generic Swagger/T-Wave combo to greatly hinder opponents. Then Foul Play to use the swagger boost. I use Sub because if the Parlyze/Hurt themselves I get an added layer of protection to use foul play from.
Adele (Gardevoir) @ Gardevoirite
Ability: Synchronize/Pixelate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hyper Voice - Wish - Protect - Heal Bell
Pretty generic SDef Cleric. Not so sure on protect and could switch it to calm mind or a coverage move. Hyper Voice for crazy STAB with Pixelate. Wish/Heal Bell for Clericy things. and Protect for wish to heal Gardevoir. I chose her over other clerics like Blissey because she can really pack a punch and has pretty solid typing.
Importable
