This is my first serious attempt at a competitive pokemon team. I’m not that great of a player and would like a little help making this team successful. Any criticism at all is welcome and please... if this team just plain sucks just come flat out and tell me. The main goal of this team is to combine offense and defense. Anything with a question mark next to it is something that im not sure about. and if you don't want to do a full analysis and do a quick opinion of my team the poll is up there for that reason.

mienshao regenerator
nature:jolly
item:life orb
evs:252 atk/252 Spe/4 hp
-fake out
-u-turn
-hi jump kick
-stone edge

Mienshao is my lead poke. Fake out is there for some free damage and is boosted by life orb. If im able to stay in i use hi jump kick or stone edge. If the matchup isn’t favorable i use u-turn to switch out. When i do use u-turn, regenerator recovers 1/3 of my Hp. That way mienshao gets some free damage and can switch out to heal off life orb damage.

Togekiss Serene Grace
nature:Bold
item:leftovers
evs: 252Hp/ 188 Def/ 68SpD
-air slash
-t-Wave
-Aura sphere
-Roost

Togekiss is my hax abuser on this team. I had a scrafty before but replaced him due to flying type weakness and i needed to have another grass resistance on this team. Scrafty also played similarly to swampert and i realized it was a bit redundant. So anyways your basic para-flinch set. I have always hated facing this thing so i thought might as well use it since its pretty good:)

swampert torrent
nature:relaxed
item:leftovers
evs:252 hp/252 def/4 Sp.A
-Earthquake
-ice beam
-Scald
-Yawn

Originally I had a a cursepert set here but someone pointed out to me that if Alomomola dies it will severly hurt the cursepert set due to it having no reliable recovery. I found this set on a thread here on smogon and decided to try it out. Scald is there for possible burn.
Yawn is for forcing a swith so I can bring in mienshao or gengar. And EQ and Ice beam are there to put a decent dent in anything that doesn't resist it.

alomomola healer
nature:careful
item:leftovers
evs:252hp/252 Sp.d/4 def
-aqua jet
-toxic
-protect
-wish

Now for my wish passer/toxicstaller. This guys passes HUGE wishes to its teamates and with swampert having no way to recover hp this guy was perfect for this team. I have had very much success with this guy on random wifi and kind of plays a triple role as an annoyer as well. I went with aqua jet over waterfall because of its ability to take out an opponent unscratched when the opposing poke has little hp left.

Lickilicky cloud nine
nature: brave
choice band
evs: 252Hp/ 252atk/ 4 def
-Power whip
-Earthquake
-gyro ball
-body slam

Because of the addition of drizzletoad and droughtails, weather is stronger than ever. This guy was made to counter weather threats. His DWA cloud nine cancels out all weather effects(awesome). If you look carefully at his moveset it counters all weather inducers. Since weather inducers are leads i use u-turn on mienshao to bring in this guy and immediately pose a threat. Power whip takes care of Politoed, T-tar, and Hippowdon. Earthquake destroys Ninetails. Lickilicky also has gyro ball for the lesser-used(but still used) Abomasnow and scarfed T-tars. And for STAB and parahax, body slam. Lickilicky isnt used as much so there is some unpredictability that goes along with him.(He also fits well into the bulky offense theme of this team with those 110/95/95 defenses and his decent 85 attack... BONUS.)

Gengar levitate
nature:jolly
item choice specs
evs:252SpA/4Hp/252 Spe
-trick
-thunderbolt
-shadow ball
-focus blast

The final slot of this team needed to have a grass resistance and a fighting resistance/immunity.They also needed to be a revenge killer. So i thought Chandelure or Gengar would be perfect for this slot. I eventually decided over chandelure because of Gengar’s ability to outspeed opposing pokes without a choice scarf and its ability to use destiny bond. I went against my teams bulky offensive strategy for this role because most bulky pokes are slow and i needed something fast. The whole moveset basically explains itself. Attack until he’s about to faint then use destiny bond.

I’m not sure if going with gengar over chandelure was a good decision so i would like some opinions on that as well. Please if there are any major weaknesses bring them may attention. Thank you for taking the time to look at my team:)

Nice team, but I see a few holes in there. First, you have 2 pokes weak to both grass and flying. Second, is having 2 fighting types really worth it? I would try a different poke there. Here's my suggustion for a support-sweeper Togekiss set (also known as para-flinch) in exchange for Scrafty

Togekiss
Name: Para-Flinch
Ability: Serene Grace
EV's: 252 Hp/ 188 Def/ 68 SDef
Nature: Bold
-Air Slash
-T-Wave
-Aura Sphere/ HP Ice/ HP Grass
- Roost
The strategy is simple. On non-guts pokes, use t-wave to slow down, then spam Air Slash with a 60% chance to flinch, with 30% chance for total para, the opponent has just a 30% chance of doing anything at all. Overall, it's a great wallbreaker, and it fits in with what you wanted. Good team, and I hope I helped.

Thanks Iill try that out. I've been wanting to try a togekiss out for awhile. I noticed that scrafty and swampert play similarly in boosting attack and defense. Togekiss also doubles as a special wall(sorta). Anyways thanks it was a big help.

can i ask a moderator a question... what will bumping this thread do? (im new so i have no idea what bump means)

going to give this a third bump; I still have gotten only one suggestion so far for this team so I need some more.

And remember: Double Posting is illegal on this site, so just edit your posts unless your bumping, in which that case it's fine.

Ok, as far as I see, you want your Mienshow to be a Sashbreaker / Phys Sweeper Mid-to-Lategame. That's good because you have a priority move on it and U-turn w/ Regenerator is a great choice.

Togekiss is fine. Having a pokémon with a 60% of flinch per turn (especially if they intend to recover or sweep w/ boosts) and 33% Paralyze, tends to put odds not in their favor. Good for disturbing the flow of your opponent.

As for Swampert, I believe going a mix of Offensive and Defensive is dangerous, given that you have no reliable form of recovery. Sure you have leftovers, but if it gets knock-offed, you are screwed. So based on the rest of your team so far, I would recommend changing your movepool. I would change it to that of a Mono-Attacking Swampert. Modify your EV spread to 252 HP, 4 Def, 252 SpD. Movepool: Rest, Sleep Talk, Curse, Waterfall.

Alomomola is also good, because you get to stall with residual toxic damage and pass Wishes to injured team members. The reason I changed your Swampert set is because if you get hit hard and are forced to switch, you can easily wish up Swampert to full health and Curse again later in the game. If your Alomomola dies, Swampert is bound to fail. That is why I changed his set.

Lililicky. Plain and simple. They will never know what hit them. And yes to Choice band. Rack up more unexpected damage for potential 1HKOs.

Gengar does not need a Focus Sash. It's just unnecessary. I would run Choice Specs for more damage. Replace pyschic with Focus Blast, as it allows way more type coverage. And as for Destiny Bond, replace with Trick for the pesky annoying walls such as Blissey, Dusknoir, or Gliscor; being that Choice Specs will not boost their damage (since they are walls and doubtfully will have high SpA)

Overall, I see where you are going with this team. You may need to tweak this strategy after playing against different teams, seeing what you need to do to keep your members alive. Try to focus on the basics: Type Coverage, Status Inflictions, Choice Items, Type Variety on your Pokémon, Recovery moves, and Priority moves. As for this team, I feel I have evaluated it well enough. Good luck in the future

i took your advice on the swampert and gengar sets. I'll test them to see how it goes.
For some strange reason the lickilicky set is really fun to use.(I guess its kinda fun messing with people and ruining there entire strategy. I'm sure i'm not the only one who likes to do this XD).

It's a pretty good team if you go by synergy but there are quite a few flaws:

Mienshao:
First of all swap out stone edge/fake out with HP ice to deal with Gliscor which walls him all day. Swap the nature to naive and only put 6 EVs in SAtk, because that's all you need.

Swampert:
For Swampert swap EQ for stealth rock because that's something you lack on your team, but keep yawn over roar because it would catch people off guard

Lickilicky:
All I have to say is swap gyro ball for something like dragon tail or even explosion even though it got completely nerfed, but STAB choice band explosion doesn't play games. Also it's completely unexpected

That's all I have to say about your team. I hope it helps
