hello there fellow smogoners! right here i got a ou team that me and my friend beanos have been working on recently. We just finished the team and i took for initiative to post it on here to get your opinion on the team.

right now down to business. when making this team around slowbro we wanted it to be more offensive then defensive. despite that we ended up getting a fairly well balanced team combining sand offense with a bit of bulky offence. Also sorry for big pictures!
as a heads up the reason for why im so low at the ladder at the moment is because i had made a new alt just for using this team

what the derp? (Slowbro) (M) @ leftovers
Ability: regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 232 def / 24 spD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spd
- Scald
- Grass knot
- Thunder Wave
- Slack Off

The team originally was built around slowbro. This slowbro is made to check common threats such as charizard x,azumaril, mega gyrados(which can destroy my sand core) and many other physical threats. scald is for burning physical attacks, psyshock is for basic stab and coverage. Thunder wave was put on slowbro becuase we have bulky mega scizor and crippling faster threats can really help him out.

Chansey.jpg

all up to chance (chansey) (F) @ Eviolite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 spD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Toxic
- Heal Bell

Chansey serves as the teams cleric heal status( burns can seriously wreck the team with 4 3 physical attackers) Wish+protect serves as a good way for chansey to restore health as well as help restore the hp of the other teammates if they will have a hard time restoring health. This set allows chansey to eat up psyshocks as well as absorb all special moves thrown at the team.

(once again sorry for the size)

Rated R (Scizor) (F) @ Scizorite
Ability: technician
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Atk / 164 Spd
Adament/Careful Nature
IVs: 0 spA
- Bullet Punch
- Roost
- Super Power
- Swords Dance

Scizor serves a fairly big role on the team. With chansey on the team(who hates having its item knocked off) we needed a bulky pokemon that could absorb all knock offs and be able to recover the health back. We naturally chose mega scizor as hes bulky has priority and has utility of his own with knock off. Not only that but with a bulky set he can set up on a majority of physical attackers that cant hurt him thanks to his typing. scizor is also a good switch in on tyranitar (unless it carries a fire type move)and can proceed to set up. Not that important but the team looked fairly stally at this time :P.

(Again again sorry for the size)

Gorjira(Tyranitar) (M) @ Smooth Rock
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 spD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 spA
- Crunch
- Ice Beam
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rocks

Tyranitars purpose of the team is to set up stealth rocks as well as trap the latis. With excadrill on the team we felt like smooth rocks was needed to make sand last as long as possible. Stone edge and crunch are basic stabs and are used when i feel like pursuit is not currently needed. Despite that bisharp is still the better pursuit trapper but this is sand so its not needed. Tyranitar also does a good job at taking out talonflame.

(sorry once again)

Dem Drillz(Excadrill) (M) @ Air Balloon
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Adament Nature
IVs: 0 spA
- Iron Head
- Rapin Spin
- Rock Slide
- Earthquake

Excadrill is my sand sweeper and is a huge threat to my team. This thing is a great fairy counter and is the teams spinner. Rocks are not to big of a threat to my team (aside from thunderous) however i need to keep rocks of my side as much as possible. The air balloon is to make sure chomp cant hit me with a earthquake (as well as other earthquake users). Not only this but i can switch exca in thanks to the air balloon. Rock slide is so i have more coverage naturally.

Thor(Thundurous) (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 spA / 4 spD / 252 Spd
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder Wave
- Thunder Bolt
- Focus Blast
- Psychic

Origonally thunderous t as we thought a volt turner was needed due to thunderous fitting the role better we had to switch up the form into incarnate form. This form gives us priority thunder wave to help with prediction not only that but due to how slow out team is the para helps us out a lot. This also means thunderous wont be locked into a move making a obvious switch.

So thats the team! a threat list will be added when threats are listed. Happy rating!

Reserved for threats:

ferrothorn: ferrothorn really does not care much about my entire team. only thunderous-t hp fire can really dent it and mega scizor can actualy set up and ko it at +6 with knock off

Rotom w: rotom can have a field day with my team as soon as chansey is gone

Hey, no one replied so I'll just drop a few suggestions that should help your team. The first would be to try out Grass Knot over Psyshock on Slowbro. This will help it immensely when checking bulky water types like Azumarill and Mega-Gyarados. Psyshock won't affect Mega-Gyarados which would leave you with the option of fishing for a burn with Scald. And If Mega-Gyarados has Substitute it can easily set-up on Slowbro the proceed to rip through the rest of your team after boosting. You won't lose coverage either since Scald + Grass Knot hits most of the mon's that Slowbro checks such as Talonflame, Keldeo, Terrakion, and Mega Medicham.

The next change is the EV spread on Chansey. Chansey already has a large HP stat so investing in HP sacrifices a bit of extra bulk. I'll just provide an example using Thundurus's Focus Blast. Here's what a Focus Blast would do to Chansey with your EV spread, 252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Focus Blast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 213-252 (30.2 - 35.7%) -- 40.7% chance to 3HKO. Here's what it would do if you changed Chansey's EV spread to 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD, 252 SpA Life Orb Thundurus Focus Blast vs. 4 HP / 252 SpD Eviolite Chansey: 169-200 (26.3 - 31.1%) -- guaranteed 4HKO. I suggest using a 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD EV spread on Chansey. There's also no reason to use Protect on Chansey since it doesn't have the luxury of recovery with Leftovers. Toxic is much more useful because it allows Chansey to wear down opposing mon's to make it easier for Scizor or Excadrill to clean up.

Bulky Scizor is pretty good but due to the current state of the meta it needs Special Defense investment to check some special attackers, especially Mega Gardevoir. A 248 HP / 44 Atk / 216 SpD EV spread should be fine. The Special Defense EVs allows Mega Scizor to avoid being 2HKOd by Modest Mega Gardevoir's Focus Blast. It can also take a few wayward special attacks as well, it has a huge chance to avoid being 2HKOd by LO Thundurus's Thunderbolt. The team is also pretty weak to Ferrothorn. Since you have Pursuit on Tyranitar you should use Fire Blast over Crunch to help fend off Ferrothorn. Changing Thundurus-Therian to Thundurus-I would also help your team a bit as its priority T-Wave can serve as an emergency panic button against offensive teams. Its increased base speed and ability to change moves eases prediction and would allow you to place more offensive pressure on the opposing team. Hope I helped a bit, good luck with the team.

Thank you for the help. i did see the massive ferrothorn weakness. about to make the changes you suggested as i agree with them. currently the way i delt with ferro was by setting up to +6 and wiping it out with knock off.

Edit:
made the changes. Your help really makes a difference as i was debating on actualy removing mega scizor for mega hera just to deal with ferro( bad idea) this solves my problem however.

Hello! Eh, idk what else to say here other than onto the rate!

First off, your team has no switch-ins to Keldeo, which can tear up your team. Sure you have Thundurus-T, but since you're not running scarf, you'll be forced to take 2 hits from it. Chansey isn't a 100% safe check and can potentially be worn down, especially considering that you only have Wish as your recovery. Therefore I suggest changing Slowbro's EV spread to 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 SpD. This spread will allow you to take 2 Hydro Pumps from Choice Specs Keldeo after Stealth Rock damage. I have no other changes for the Bro...besides nicknaming it Bro Job (which is what I name all of my Slowbro). hehehe...

Moving on! That Thundurus-T set is outclassed by Thundurus-I; in fact, it's the same exact set that most Thundurus use. With that I suggest swapping your Thundurus formes. That way, you benefit from having more speed to outspeed Choice Specs Keldeo; having a mediocre base 101 speed isn't too great, considering there are plenty of mons that can easily outspeed and KO Thundurus-T. (I'm not saying it's bad, but instead I'm saying it's outclassed in most roles that are better performed by Thundurus.)

Concerning the Scizor set that Rob mentioned, it's not 2HKO'd by Modest M-Garde's Focus Blast even with the standard Roost + 3 Attacks EV spread, which is 248 HP / 96 Atk / 164 SpD. I suggest using this spread instead. You still retain good bulk, but you also gain a bit more power to boot.

Also, no one really care if the pictures are too big. Imo, the bigger the better!

That's all I've got for now. I wish you luck!

I agree with most of what you said, but grass knot is by no means a way to deal with azumarill; Especially the av set which is the most common currently.
0 SpA Slowbro Grass Knot (60 BP) vs. 16 HP / 240 SpD Assault Vest Azumarill: 54-64 (15.6 - 18.5%) -- possible 6HKO
0 SpA Slowbro Grass Knot (60 BP) vs. 240 HP / 16 SpD Assault Vest Azumarill: 68-82 (16.9 - 20.4%) -- possible 5HKO

0 SpA Slowbro Psyshock vs. 240 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 103-123 (25.6 - 30.6%) -- guaranteed 4HKO
0 SpA Slowbro Psyshock vs. 16 HP / 0 Def Azumarill: 103-123 (29.8 - 35.6%) -- 27.8% chance to 3HKO

That's true but Grass Knot is mainly for M-Gyarados. I meant to only mention it hits Azumarill super effectively as well as x y and z. Azumarill will always be forced out against Slowbro in fear of a burn from Scald. Sure Azumarill can use Knock Off but I don't think many players would take that chance since Slowbro can easily replenish health through Slack Off and Regenerator.

Hello.
Your descriptions are too short to fit the RMT rules requirements.
I encourage you to PM me an updated version of this team with beefed up descriptions, and if you're new to this, join the Mentor Program. I'll be unlocking this thread after that.

Have a nice day.
