Swampert@Leftovers.
Ability: Torrent.
Nature: Careful.
EV: 240 HP / 216 SpD / 52 Def.
- Stealth Rock.
- Earthquake.
- Ice Punch.
- Protect.
I'm using this Swampert as a lead. Since he's bulky, he can take a few hits before using it. Also, Swampert's typing was pretty nice in my opinion. Before, I tried Metagross, but he was mainly just used for the Focus Sash Aerodactyl's or exploding anything else, so I didn't really like that choice.
Scizor@Choice Band.
Ability: Technician.
Nature: Adamant.
EV: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 Spd.
- Bullet Punch.
- U-Turn.
- Pursuit.
- Superpower.
One of my favorites. I chose Scizor due to the power, along with Choice Band making him pretty good. He can also be a ... Possible 'scout' when needed. Along with the resistances and such, he can be considered a bulky teammate as well.
Empoleon@Life Orb/Expert Belt.
Ability: Torrent.
Nature: Modest.
Ev: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
- Agility.
- Hydro Pump.
- Ice Beam.
- Grass Knot.
Although the Agility SubPetaya set is the most popular, I prefer this Empoleon. Its too risky, in my opinion to try setting Empoleon up. I also like the vast spread of at least neutral damage for his moves. I'm still deciding on choosing which set, but overall I like this set more.
Heatran@Choice Scarf.
Ability: Flash Fire.
Nature: Rash.
EV: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
-Fire Blast.
- Earth Power.
- Explosion.
- Dragon Pulse.
I love this set. Speed, power, and bulk all in one, despite the lock on to one move. Heatran's a threat in OU and is very respectable when it comes to beating top threats.
Tyranitar@Life Orb/Babiri Berry.
Ability: Sandstream.
Nature: Jolly.
EV: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe.
- Dragon Dance.
- Crunch.
- Rock Slide.
- Fire Punch.
The 'main' Pokémon in my set. The Sandstreamer with bulk and power. I don't exactly like Tyranitar SO much because of his weaknesses, but once Dragon Dance is up, he can be pretty deadly. I chose Rock Slide over Stone Edge mainly because of the accuracy, flinch rate, and the not too different power. I chose Fire Punch instead of Earthquake to get rid of threats like Scizor, but only if he has a Babiri Berry. Fire Punch is also a good move against Skarmory and such. I like Tyranitar, don't like his weaknesses, but I prefer him over his other Sandstream counterpart, Hippowdon.
Flygon@Choice Scarf.
Ability: Levitate.
Nature: Jolly.
EV: 252 Atk / 4 HP / 252 Spe.
- Earthquake.
- U-Turn.
- Outrage.
- Fire Punch.
This one is my scout. Flygon is a great scout, pretty good stats all around, however, the power is what I'm worried about. Flygon is weak, I have to admit. He's not very bulky either. Another problem. Which is why I am considering replacing Flygon with a Stallbreaking Gliscor.
I am not particularly fond of Flygon except that he can be a considerable scout. Furthermore, he has few weaknesses and has a good STAB move, Outrage. Otherwise, I wouldn't really use him.
My team was an attempt to deal with sandstorm's effects while being bulky, strong, and all around able to hit a lot of Pokémon. I would like for anyone to give me reccomendations or tell me the flaws (which I probably have a lot) in my team. Thank you, I think sandstorm teams are unique, and I would like to use a team built around it.
