ORAS OU Bulky Zard Y Team

  1. Charizard @ Charizardite Y
  2. Ability: Blaze
  3. EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
  4. Timid Nature
  5. - Fire Blast
  6. - Roost
  7. - Focus Blast
  8. - Solar Beam
  9. To start off this team I wanted to run a zard y because it hits like a truck with fire blast in the sun. It can mons like ttar and rotom with solarbeam and has access to roost for recovery. this mon is a good special attacker. You gotta pay attention to that stealth rock weakness though.
  10. Bisharp @ Black Glasses
  11. Ability: Defiant
  12. EVs: 252 Atk / 52 SpD / 204 Spe
  13. Adamant Nature
  14. - Knock Off
  15. - Iron Head
  16. - Sucker Punch
  17. - Pursuit
  18. Here I wanted to get a strong hitting pursuit user for mons like the latis as well as ensuring some KO's against weakened pokes. It's also useful as a defog blocker and if I can safely predict a switch into a mon like lando-t I can also get that defiant boost.
  19. Garchomp @ Rocky Helmet
  20. Ability: Rough Skin
  21. EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 76 SpD / 16 Spe
  22. Impish Nature
  23. - Stealth Rock
  24. - Earthquake
  25. - Dragon Tail
  26. - Fire Blast
  27. Then I wanted something to set up rocks and tankchomp did that effectively. The goal of this mon is simple: set up rocks, tank hits and dragon tail/earthquake against certain mons. Rocky helmet is a nice touch coupled with rough skin.
  28. Excadrill @ Leftovers
  29. Ability: Mold Breaker
  30. EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
  31. Careful Nature
  32. - Earthquake
  33. - Iron Head
  34. - Rapid Spin
  35. - Toxic
  36. I wanted.. No NEEDED a rapid spinner on this team. You need one on almost all good teams. I opted running a bulky set running toxic and to make me be able to live some hits and get a assured rapid spin off since spinning is vital for zard Y to function effectively and reliably.
  37. Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
  38. Ability: Levitate
  39. EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 Spe
  40. Bold Nature
  41. - Volt Switch
  42. - Hydro Pump
  43. - Will-O-Wisp
  44. - Pain Split
  45. Here was the moment I realized something. I had a pretty big weakness to keldeo. It runs through most of my team and I wanted a good check or counter to it. rotom-W was the mon I decided on as it has a very useful moveset. volt switch for initiative pain split for recovery. Will-o-wisp for some physical mons such as megagross or bisharp.

  46. Tornadus-Therian @ Assault Vest
  47. Ability: Regenerator
  48. EVs: 132 HP / 160 SpA / 216 Spe
  49. Timid Nature
  50. - Hurricane
  51. - Focus Blast
  52. - Knock Off
  53. - U-turn
I also noticed that my team wasn't very fast so I chose to run an AV tornadus-t. it has good bulk and access to regenerator. u-turn is nice because coupled with rotom it creates the volt-turn core. knocking off items is always useful. and then there's the powerful yet not totally accurate focus blast and hurricane.

To make Bisharp a good pursuit trapper, I recommend giving it assault vest over black glasses to live draco's from the lati's better. The ev spread changes to 192HP/220Atk/96Spe and Adamant Nature. This also makes it a solid Fairy Check

Garchomp can tank physical hits very well and you dont need another physical wall in Rotom wash. So I recommend you to change Rotom to a spdef Sylveon as Garchomp loves wish support and Charizard Y hates Status. This also gives you a great counter to keldeo. Also, Spdef Excadrill is not that good in this team as you are very keldeo weak. I recommend changing it to a bulky starmie to have a reliable spinner and a second answer for keldeo. It can also play reflect type shenanigans.
Here are the sets to import.
Sylveon @ Leftovers
Ability: Pixilate
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 SpD
Bold Nature
- Hyper Voice
- Protect
- Wish
- Heal Bell

Starmie @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 248 HP / 16 SpD / 244 Spe
Timid Nature
- Reflect Type
- Scald
- Rapid Spin
- Recover

With Wish support, charizard also doesn't need roost, and as bulky dragons give it trouble, You could change roost to dragon pulse.

So just to summarize,

Roost->Dragon Pulse
Black Glasses->Assault Vest
Rotom->Sylveon
Excadrill->Bulky Starmie

Tornadus and Chomp look solid except you might want to consider toxic over fire blast as an impish nature makes it weaker.

Good Luck with the team and make sure to lengthen the descriptions so your post isn't locked.

Hi , Zard Y and X are my most fav mons and I like that you r using zard Y , btw back to rate.
  • First of all you have 2 bird spam counters and u mentioned u added rotom-w to counter keldeo , but I don't think rotom-w can take 2 secret swords from specs keldeo after rocks damage. So I think Latios / Latias > Rotom-w , both can counter keldeo can they can also counter zard Y which your team is pretty weak to.
Latios @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Draco meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost
- Defog / Earthquake / Hidden Power Fire

Or

Latias @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 72 HP / 184 SpA / 252 Spe
IVs: 0 Atk
Timid Nature
- Draco meteor
- Psyshock
- Roost / Healing Wish
- Defog / Earthquake / Hidden Power Fire
  • Secondly , Excadrill isn't a good fit for your team and you are weak to Mega Gardevoir so I think Jirachi > Excadrill , Jirachi provides Wish support to your team which is really helpful especially to Bisharp.
Jirachi @ Leftovers
Ability: Serence Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SpD / 32 Spe
Careful Nature
- Iron head
- Wish
- Protect / Fire Punch
- Body Slam / Fire Punch / u-turn

  • And talking of Zard Y its fine don't change roost to dragon pulse because it can hit a lot of bulky dragons with Fire blast , roost is important for recovery.Still I have a suggestion for that I have a set but it depends on you that u wanna use it or not
Charizard @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Roost
- Focus Blast
- Solar Beam
