Burmy
[Overview]
• bad offensive stats
• Above average defensive stats.
• Very shallow movepool
• Trying to make this as different from Kricketot as I can
[SET]
name: Bulky Bug
move 1: Bug Bite
move 2: Hidden Power Fire / Ground
move 3: Protect
move 4: Tackle / String Shot
item: Eviolite
ability: Shed Skin / Overcoat
nature: Relaxed
evs: 116 HP / 156 Def / 236 SpD
[SET COMMENTS]
• With Eviolite it gets 21 Def, SpD and HP
• Bug Bite is Primary STAB
• Hidden Power Fire hits Ferroseed and Bronzor hard
• HP Ground deals with Magnemite and Chinchou
• Protect can be used to scout an opponent’s move
• Tackle is mainly filler but String Shot could be used in it’s place to force switches
[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]
• Benefits from rapid spinners. Kabuto is good as it resists Flying and Fire attacks that are SE against Burmy
• Ferroseed resists Rock but must watch out for Fire type moves
• Flash Fire Pokémon like Houndour and Ponyta help with fire attacks directed at it.
• Slowbro and Mantyke can be useful for weakening Fighting types.
• Shed Skin helps it get rid of status but Overcoat can be useful on a sand team
[Other Options]
• Snore could be used to absorb sleep and still attack, but you are better off with ResTalk Chinchou
[Checks and Counters]
• If it lacks HP Fire then Bronzor will have a field day with it, as it resist all of its attacks
• Mantyke is a good counter as it doesn’t fear Tackle and can KO back with STAB super effective moves
• Scraggy and other fighting types use it as fodder for their set up. Scraggy and Timburr especially can come in and then boost or just attack outright to get rid of it
