Hey Guys, This is My first RMT post so bare with me on this one.
Team Building Proccess:
The other day I was talking to a friend about the old RBY pokemon games, so in honor of all the good times I had with those games I decided to put together a Team with only Gen 1 but also that was going to be good enough to compete in the current meta-game ( knowing very well its was going to be ridiculously hard to do so)

First I started with with my two favorite pokemon, Zard and the beloved Dragonite, because these two can rip to shreds any team with a couple of dragon dances.

Knowing that fairies could really dent both my Dragons, I though I probably needed my own fairy, in came Clefable, don't let its sweet looks this thing can really do some serious damage

After I bought Clefable, I needed someone to put a dent on steel types, so I recruited The original Fighting Type Hitmonchan, with Iron Fist plus its assortment of "punch" moves such as, mach punch, bullet punch etc.., the boxer moves like a butterfly but stings like a bee.

I knew at this point I needed a bulky dude who could punish physical priority users, like talonflame, conkledurr etc, so came in Snorlax with great hp and defenses, this thing can "counter" any physical attacker (you know what I Mean) and with great SPdef + assault vest it can nullify a lot of special attackers.

At this point I Needed a Lead/deffoger or rapid Spinner/ Hazard Setter, The only thing in Gen 1 that could do that Job was Aerodactyl, so I recruited Him to the team.
In Depth look:
Dragonite (M) @ Lum Berry
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- ExtremeSpeed
Old school Dnite, We all know what this thing can do, It comes in takes a hit while it sets up and destroys anything in its path. Has, Dragon Dance to boost itself up, Outrage instead of dragon claw because by the time it Comes in faries are gone and steels are very low on health, earthquake for some coverage and Extremespeed for that priority hitting weakened pokemon mid game.
Charizard (M) @ Charizardite X
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Dragon Claw
- Flare Blitz
- Earthquake
Okay, His mega evolution came in 6 gen, but for the purposes of this team he counts as a gen 1 poke.
This is his most known set , DD Dance, Dragon Claw because I already have Dragonite using Outrage, Flare Blitz because Zard doesnt care about recoil and hits with abandon, and Earthquake for that coverage.

Clefable (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 SAtk / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Modest Nature
- Flamethrower
- Moonblast
- Ice Beam/Thunderbolt
- Soft-Boiled
Boy oh boy, has this thing been surprising , thanks to Magic guard, it doesnt take damage from Life Orb, burn (i see you rotom), toxic, or leech seed ( yeah ferrothorn). its running Flamethrower to it ferrothorn and other stuff, moonblast for that STAB and those dragons that dare to stay in on this thing , Ice Beam because I found myself having trouble with Gliscor and Mandibuzz, but i can also carry Thunderbolt Mainly for Azumarill and Zard Y. Finally soft boiled to last longer.

Hitmonchan (M) @ Life Orb/Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 Atk / 4 HP
Jolly Nature
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Punch
- Fake Out
- Thunder Punch
This guy is the has been the revelation of my team, with life orb or choice band plus Iron fist, this guy literally packs a good punch, Mach Punch and bullet punch to hit weakened Fairy and steel types plus the occasional normal type, fake out to prevent set ups and then hit with those priority punches, and thunder punch for coverage

Aerodactyl (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt
- Defog
- Stone Edge
This Guy is basically a Suicide lead really, sets rocks, taunts, sometimes hangs around to defog and hits with STAB Stone Edge. Nothing Special( Might Replace it if I Find A good Gen 1 Spinner)

Snorlax @ Assault Vest
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Impish Nature
- Return
- Earthquake
- Counter
- Crunch
Snorlax Tho..., this Guy with assault vest giving it greath Special Defense, and boosting his Def with the Impish Nature can really take some hits, plus his un- Invested attack is decent enough to deal good damage. Running Return, for that normal Stab not much to say about that, earthquake here for coverage, Counter, with snorlax's bulk counter is deadly able to knock out, Breelom, Scizor, Talonflame, conkledurr, Basically anything that dares to use physical attacks is going to eat a counter, and if you try to attack on the special side it will probably take you for ever to take this thing down. And finally crunch to make ghost types pay for staying in on this.
Ok, Guys so this is The Team, tell me how I can make it better and Remember, I did the best i Could with only Gen 1 pokes. Also It would be Really Appreciated for suggestions on how to make it better.
