[OVERVIEW]
Bug
========
Thanks to its high Attack stat, decent movepool, and ability in Beast Boost, Buzzwole is an effective revenge killer for Bug-type teams. It also has a high Defense stat, which lets it shrug off priority moves from the likes of Dragonite, Scizor, and Azumarill, and its Fighting typing combined with good physical bulk lets it take on threatening Pokemon like Terrakion and Tyranitar for Bug-type teams. However, Buzzwole has a middling Speed stat, which makes it unable to outspeed faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latias and Blacephalon. Buzzwole's low Special Defense stat also means it takes decent damage from even weak attacks like Toxapex's Scald.

[SET COMMENTS]
Close Combat hits Rock- and Steel-types such as Tyranitar and Heatran super hard while also dealing heavily damaging neutral defensive checks like Swampert and Mandibuzz. Stone Edge deals with Fire- and Flying-types such as Cinderace, Rotom-H, Volcarona, and Zapdos, which are otherwise hard for Bug-type teams to deal with. Earthquake lets Buzzwole deal with Poison- and Electric-types such as Nidoking and Tapu Koko. Ice Punch nails Ground- and Dragon-types such as Landorus-T, Garchomp, and Dragonite. Maximum Speed investment along with a Jolly nature and a Choice Scarf makes Buzzwole as fast as possible, allowing it to revenge kill Pokemon such as Tapu Koko, Victini, and Nidoking.
Volcarona appreciates Buzzwole dealing with troublesome specially defensive Pokemon such as Blissey and Heatran; in return, Volcarona takes care of physical walls and Steel-types like Hippowdon, Corviknight, and Celesteela for Buzzwole. Scizor likes Buzzwole removing faster Pokemon such as Victini and Nidoking; in return, Scizor can weaken shared checks like Toxapex and Amoonguss, provide U-turn support to bring Buzzwole in safely, and beat Fairy-types such as Azumarill, Togekiss, and Tapu Bulu with Bullet Punch. Buzzwole loves Sticky Web support from Galvantula, Shuckle, and Araquanid. Galvantula can check bulky Water-types like Toxapex and Swampert for Buzzwole with Thunder and Energy Ball, while Shuckle provides Stealth Rock support and creates momentum with Encore. Araquanid can act as a sponge for Fire-type attacks aimed at Buzzwole and reflect entry hazards and Taunt with Magic Coat. Buzzwole benefits from physical setup sweepers such as Guts Heracross and Swords Dance Scolipede, as their wallbreaking makes it easier for Buzzwole revenge kill effectively.

Other Options
=============
Bug
--------
A Bulk up set with Substitute and Drain Punch along with Earthquake or Ice Punch is an option; (spacing) however, given Buzzwole's low Special Defense stat, it cannot reliably set up and only excels at beating bulky defensive teams such as Steel and Normal.
Checks and Counters
===================
Bug
--------
**Revenge Killers**: Even with a Choice Scarf, Buzzwole's middling Speed stat makes it vulnerable to faster Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Latias and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, which can easily OHKO it.
**Status**: Buzzwole fears burns from Scald and Will-O-Wisp from users such as Toxapex and Galarian Corsola, as they can severely hamper its ability to act as an effective revenge killer. It also fears paralysis from foes like Static Zapdos, which leaves it unable to outspeed threats, and being worn down by Toxic.
**Special Attackers**: Due to its low Special Defense, Buzzwole is threatened by special attackers like Seismitoad, Heliolisk, and Rotom-W.
**Ghost-types**: Buzzwole finds it hard to break past Ghost-types like Galarian Corsola, Spectrier, and Jellicent, which can also cripple it with their various status-inducing moves.
**Poison-types**: Poison-types like Galarian Weezing and Amoonguss have little trouble against Buzzwole due to their massive physical bulk and typing. They can comfortably tank any move and retaliate with Will-O-Wisp and Spore, respectively. Even Toxapex can take an unboosted Earthquake from full HP and burn Buzzwole with Scald or put it on a timer with Toxic.
**Fairy-types**: Fairy-types like Clefable, Hatterene, and Azumarill have very little to fear from Buzzwole and can comfortably set up against it or OHKO it. Their ability to beat Buzzwole is further augmented by dual screens support.
