bug/poison

65 HP/ 80 atk / 40 def / 45 sp.atk /80 spc.def / 75 speed

once again i won't lie beedrill is rather pathetic in any thing outside of NU/UU loads of weaknesses and poor resists due to having bug/poison typing+ low defense means its thrashed by even unstabbed Earthquakes even focus punchs can easely squash this bug did DP give this cool bug any love

Trait

Swarm: if bedrill HP hits 1/3 remaining or less its bug typed moved become 1.5x more powerful

Notable physcial movepool bold is stab

X-scissor
U-turn
Twineddle
Poison jab

Return
Secret power
Brick break
Aerial ace
Thief

Notable support/stat boosters

Swords dance
Roost
Toxic
Endeavor
Toxic spikes
Substitute

Generic attacking bug set

Beedrill@ leftovers/lifeorb/choice band/scarf/salac berry
252 attack 252 speed 4 HP
adamant/jolly
X-scissor/Twineedle
Poison jab
Substitute
Endeavor

first 2 moves are needed stabbed moves Twineedle is there for potenal(lol) sub breaking, while you sub down to power up endeavor too bad you'll probably promply get met by T-tar in standards or Abomasnow in UU( although Abomasnow has to avoid getting nailed a SE stabbed move

Look at the 3rd gen dex too:

Pursuit
Agility
*Baton Pass (Gale of Darkness)

Beedrill:

Swords Dance
Baton Pass
X-Scissor
Agility/Brick Break

Weaker Scissor, but gets to Baton Pass faster.

I also suggest:

Beedrill: Focus Sash

Agility
Endeavor
Baton Pass
X-Scissor

You agility when you will be killed, Focus Sash saves you and you go first next turn. Endeavor the opponent or attack them with X-Scissor.

If you don't want to do either, Baton Pass your Agility to your teammate.

Beedrill@ Salac Berry
252 Attack/252 Speed/4 Hp
Swords Dance
X-Scissor
Poison Jab
Brick Break

Swords Dance then sweep when Salac activates. X-Scissor and Poison Jab for STAB. Brick Break so steels dont completely wall you. =/

I like it! Maybe I'll try this sometime. Well, when competitor comes out, because I'm not raising a Beedrill on my Diamond...

Beedrill is my favorite pokemon so I feel more or less obligated to post when someone starts a goddamn Beedrill discussion. But yeah, this guy is abysmal.

Endeavor is really the only "reason" to use this guy. His only claim to fame is that he can poison Steel types with Twineedle, lol. Beedrill has the lowest overall defenses of any endeavorer though, so I suppose it's that much easier to get to 1hp through Focus Sash or Endure.

Actually...you could maybe get a kill if you miraculously forced a switch (Celebi? lol not even), poisoned whatever came in with Toxic spikes (preferably planted beforehand) or Toxic and then either focus sashed or endured down to 1 hp to endeavor. The poison would kill your opponent at the end of the turn. I kind of like Focus Sash better because you can just switch out after killing them with endeavor as opposed to just dying, and Beedrill is slow enough to go last in most cases...though you probably won't be able to get the poison up successfully unless you used Toxic spikes because Beedrill is terrible and Sandstorm ruins any of this shit.

None of that would actually work but at least this guy has got the element of surprise...Oh, and honestly, how can a pokemon modeled after a creature that has some of the most efficient wings of any living thing on earth have base 75 speed?

Actually, I just realized that you can't really kill the opponent with Endeavor...

So maybe I will stay away from Beedrill like I originally intended to. Cool looking Poke, though. If it were faster, I'd use it.

I am an avid fan of the NU Metagame, and even I don't like Beedrill. Seriously, this thing ties with Beautifly as worst bug type ever. Beautifly because it is a bad Butterfree, Beedrill because... well, basically unless you're in FRLG it can barely even be used in-game to any extent (purchasable Brick Break goes a LONG way for Beedrill).

Ariados at least had a gimmick. Beedrill's gimmick was, uh... dying.

@ Choice Scarf
- U-Turn
- Pursuit
- Aerial Ace
- Endeavor

My awesome situational Beedrill set. Lead with it in NU, and U-Turn out if your opponent is undesirable, or if you just wanna do some damage. Aerial Ace because there's a lot of dumb Bugs out there. Pursuit is for things that are almost dead but need to be pushed over just a little. Endeavor is there when you're at death's door yourself and you don't feel like U-Turning away.

Beedrill is useless but at least it gets three of the most interesting moves of all time. Other than this I'd say use it for Poison Spikes. NU has few Steels, though maybe a little too many Fliers to be practical, not to mention Dustox. However these last two things can be remedied by using Stealth Rock on your Corsola or Sudowoodo or something.

Also AJC, your post would be a lot more readable if you used periods once in a while.

Substitute/Swords Dance/X-Scissor/Brick Break with Salac Berry to sort of abuse Swarm in NU. Just hope you get in on something that's afraid of it. That's a high order...:)

I like Baton Passer.

Would work great in NU/UU for BPing to better sweepers.

On a separate note:
I have a BPer on my Emerald it is Jolly and has decent IVs.
