BW2 OU rain team

Well that was a fail. Sorry for posting this in the wrong section last time xD. I totally thought I was in the RMT.

Anyway, here's my team made after PO updated to 1.60 ( I think that was it ) with all the BW2 stuff.

Globox (Politoed) (F) @ Leftovers

186.gif

Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 SDef
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Drizzle lead gives rain support for the team. Scald is STAB that I use to make up for my lack of physical bulk. Ice beam taking out threats like Dragonite and Mence. Rest-Talk works great with bulky waters. While Politoed can't run it quite as well as Milotic, it's still easy enough to use for healing.

Toxicroak (M) @ Black Sludge

454.gif

Trait: Dry Skin
EVs: 196 HP / 60 Def / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Sucker Punch
- Poison Jab

A nice bulky sweeper that gets Dry Skin support in the rain. Bulk up adds onto physical bulk and gives him attacking potential. Drain Punch is STAB that helps heal him up. Sucker Punch works as priority for when he needs to move first and avoid a OHKO. Poison Jab is back up STAB. I'm thinking about replacing it with Ice Punch.

Puff (Dragonite) (M) @ Leftovers

149.gif

Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 196 HP / 252 SAtk / 60 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Agility
- Hurricane
- Focus Blast
- Roost

This team likes getting nice switch ins to set up sweepers and then taking chunks out of my opponent's team. Agility-nite can do that pretty well. STAB maxed sp atk Hurricane does good work. Thunder and Surf are both great fall backs for the rain. He's also bulky enough to run Roost.

Mufasa (Landorus-T) (M) @ Life Orb

645-therian.gif

Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Polish
- Earthquake
- Rock Slide
- Superpower

Another semi-bulky x2 speed sweeper. Soaking up electric moves also heavily benefits Gyarados. While Gyarados can take water moves and set up. Earthquake is STAB which also pairs well with Rock slide for coverage. Superpower is coverage and hits hard enough to leave a mark, unlike Brick Break.

Ragequit (Gyarados) (M) @ Leftovers

130.gif

Trait: Moxie
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Waterfall
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

A standard D-dance Gyarados. Waterfall for STAB and Ice Fang and Earthquake for coverage. Switching between him and Landorus can get some great set ups.

Hiya (Ferrothorn) (M) @ Leftovers

598.gif

Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Leech Seed
- Thunder Wave
- Power Whip

Sets up rocks for the team. Leech Seed and Thunder Wave help a majority of my pokemon out, and Power Whip is STAB I can fall back on. He can also draw in fire and fighting types and get a nice switch into Gyara so Gyara can set up.

Hello.

This is a good team, but there are a few things I would suggest changing.

First of all, you have no revenge killer. This is a bad thing for you because of the multitude of scarfed, speed boosting, and generally speedy pokemon running around OU right now. One primary example of this is scarfed moxiemence. You have nothing to revenge kill it, and ferrothorn will not stop it for long, as he has no move that will damage it much. To combat threats such as scarfed base 100s while still absorbing electric moves for gyarados, I suggest replacing landorus-t with thundurus-t.

The base 101 speed just screams choice scarf, as it allows it to revenge kill many dangerous speedy threats with great coverage and base 145 special attack.

Here is the set:

thundurust.png

Thundurus-T
Timid | 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed, 4 HP | Choice Scarf | Volt Absorb
~Thunder
~Volt Switch
~Hidden Power Ice
~Focus Blast / Thunderbolt / Grass Knot

Due to the fact that this is a rain team, thunder is the STAB of choice because everyone loves a 120 power STAB off of 145 special attack with awesome accuracy. Volt Switch gains the second slot for scouting purposes as well as getting thundurus out of a tight spot on a predicted switch while doing damage. The special attack will also ensure that it will hurt almost everything somewhat except (insert electric immunity pokemon here). Hidden Power Ice is in the third slot for coverage on most ground types as well as zapdos and thundurus. It is also great for revenge killing scarfed or +1 dragon pokemon. The fourth slot is contested. Focus Blast is the preferred option for hitting rock types such as tyranitar and terrakion as well as other resists to STABs such as ferrothorn. Thunderbolt can be used if you are in adverse weather and do not wish to switch but need a good STAB move to spam. Grass Knot can be used if you hate nasty gastrodon who can ruin thundurus-t's life. It also does a number on heavyweights such as tyranitar and terrakion. The evs are straightforward, providing maximum strength and speed.

Overall, thundurus-t is a great pokemon that can revenge kill a variety of threats and clean up weakened teams in the rain.

Now, this leaves your team weaker to sun and stealth rock, as you will miss the powerful earthquake that sun teams hate so much, as well as acquiring another stealth rock weakness. I suggest replacing gyarados with starmie, as well as changing dragonite's set to a dragon dance set to do what gyarados used to do. Your team is a smidgen weak to other weather teams. With the new toys dragonite got from the tutors + multiscale, he looks to change that with some fresh moves to his famous dragon dance set.

Dragonite
Adamant | 252 Atk, 212 Speed, 44 HP | Leftovers | Multiscale
~Dragon Dance
~Dragon Claw / Outrage
~Fire Punch
~Earthquake / Aqua Tail / Superpower

Ah, dragon dance dragonite. There isn't much that needs to be said about him. Dragon Dance is in the first slot for obvious reasons. The familiar choice of either dragon claw or outrage can be chosen for the first slot. Note that this may be influenced by your choice of moves later on. Fire Punch is very important, as it will fatally injure the ubiquitous chlorophyll sweepers found on sun teams due to the boost from sunlight. It can also hit ferrothorn, forretress, and scizor hard, even in the rain. The fourth slot is quite contested. Earthquake can be used to hit some steel types stronger than fire punch in the rain. If this move is chose, it is recommended that dragon claw is chosen so air balloon heatran does not destroy you if it packs hp ice. Aqua tail can be used for the rain boost as well as the ability to hit heatran the hardest out of all these moves in the rain. Superpower is great for hitting a variety of threats as well as heatran and tyranitar. The bad part is that it lowers attack and defense, meaning you may not be able to sweep as well. The evs are similar to the bulky DD set, except with the HP and Attack evs switched. 212 speed beats modest scarf politoed at +1, and scarf landorus at +2.

This dragonite set will help patch up the problems with sun that your team may encounter, as well as performing gyarados's role of dragon dance sweeper in the process.

Due to the fact that entry hazards in general are now a pain for your team and you have a dragon dance sweeper now, I suggest replacing gyarados with starmie. It can spin, it can do magic tricks, it can recover, and it can also take advantage of the rain!!
Here is the set:

121.gif

Starmie
Timid | 252 HP, 252 Speed | Leftovers | Natural Cure
~Hydro Pump / Surf
~Thunderbolt / Ice Beam
~Rapid Spin
~Recover

This set focuses on being able to accomplish a speedy rapid spin while surviving long into the future. Hydro Pump and surf are the choice of STABs, and which one you choose goes back to the whole "power vs accuracy issue".
Thunderbolt is the preferred choice in the second slot for being able to hit many pokemon hard, as well as hitting the premier spin blocker of OU, Jellicent, hard. Ice Beam can be used if you demand more dragon coverage as well as hitting grass types hard. Rapid Spin spins away those nasty entry hazards that cripple this team so much. Recover increases longevity so Starmie can keep on spinning.

Overall, this starmie should help control entry hazards that are commonly seen on almost every semistall / stall team as well as still hitting hard with rain boosted STAB.

Now for the minor changes.
The combo of stealth rock + spikes + leech seed on ferrothorn has now been unlocked, (thank you move tutors.) and it will benefit your team very well, as dragonite and thundurus-t can use it for revenge killing and sweeping purposes, as 3 layers of spikes + neutral stealth rock = 37.5% damage on a grounded pokemon. Thunder Wave is almost unnecessary, as thundurus would have a choice scarf, dragonite can set up dragon dance, and starmie is just plain fast, so I would suggest replacing that move with spikes. Another option is using gyro ball over thunder wave so you are capable of hitting fast dragons hard.

Another change is that I would suggest replacing poison jab on toxicroak with substitute. Substitute allows toxicroak to avoid status as well as becoming nigh impenetrable on the physical side after bulk ups, as well as taking a special move from something such as latios and striking back hard. Also, sucker punch can be replaced with ice punch so you can more easily take on gliscor.

These new pokemon will better help your team succeed, as well as staying in accordance with the goal of boosting speed, taking advantage of rain, and striking hard and fast.

Hope this helps, and good luck with the team!!

ice punch and Drain punch are legal on the same set for toxicrock
try Ice punch over Poison jab seeing that you really dont hit anything with poison tryping

Umm, no title. Just reply.

Thanks KoB.

I haven't gotten to properly test some of the stuff, but from what I can see D-dance Dragonite has been wrecking. I guess sometimes giving up rain abuse to have a total monster is acceptable. Although I may replace him with a mixed d-dancer that I used to use a lot. He wrecked up a sun team though, so things are looking good. Still testing the rest of your suggs, but they seem pretty solid man. So thanks! ~Josh
