[BW2] Rain under the steel

RAIN UNDER THE STEEL
Hello everyone, today I would like to offer the last team that I built, it is based on Thundurus.
The building phase is as follows:
682.png
As I said this team is based on Thundurus-T, a Pokemon in my opinion very good thanks to the possibility to achieve a high special attack and a high speed. I wanted to make it more dangerous on this occasion possible, and that's why I chose the set of agility + life orb ... But who can hinder him?

186.png

Politoed (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Focus Blast
- Perish Song

Thundurus has a high special attack, but taking advantage of the rain its electrical connections combined with its high speed, make it a real war machine, so I think for this team, Politoed due to its ability to be a good Thundurus companion.

73.png

Tentacruel (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rain Dish
EVs: 252 HP / 240 Def / 16 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Protect

Now we have to make sure that when Thundurus comes into play is in its most dazzling, so we prevent stealth rock is placed. We therefore need a spinner, and on this occasion I chose Tentacruel.

385.png

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 HP / 224 SDef / 32 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Iron Head
- Body Slam
- Wish
- Stealth Rock

Now that we have our rain, and thundurus is protected from the rocks, we must think of his counter, or at least the Pokemon that give him the most trouble. The 'Hidden Power of Latios and Latias hurt him, but he will not throw down in one shot, but their having power to have the choice scarf with a draco meteor kill him for sure. What obstacles latios and latias are the types Steel, especially in the rain, as even a hidden power fire can be very insignificant, so this time I chose Jirachi, the classical set to paralyze targeted physical latios and latias to reduce their speed and make them vulnerable.

212.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 160 HP / 252 Atk / 76 SDef / 20 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- U-turn
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Pursuit

I believe that the special walls as Blissey and chansey give very bothersome to thundurus, thanks to their move toxic and their ability to enter the stall, may prove superior to this last. So I decided to put another type steel, which it is claimed also against them, I think Scizor is the best choice, since even the toxic against him has no effect.

286.png

Breloom (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 232 HP / 252 Atk / 20 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Spore
- Swords Dance
- Mach Punch
- Bullet Seed

Since I preferred to give focus to blast thundurus and grass knot, Quagsire and Gastrodon it together very well, so I would have to fit a grass type, and due to its ability to enter and attack with spores very easily have chosen Breloom.

682.png

Thundurus (Thundurus-T) (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Volt Absorb
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Agility
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Focus Blast

And with him conclude, deleted by its counter with agility and make my massacre.

The struggles that I did this team is very synergistic, I hope you enjoy it, and let him win to you. If you try it let me know, good rate;)
Ps: Sorry for spelling errors, but I am Italian xp

Why don't you use Thunder on Thundurus? You are using rain after all
Also you can use an EV spread of 152 HP / 252 SAtk / 104 Spe to outspeed Scarfed Latios after Agility.
Breloom is very frail; you should just use full speed to outspeed Adamant base 80s etc.

This is a really solid team! I love how you make the team revolve around Agility Thundurus-T.

- I suggest Forretress over Tentacruel. Forretress not only has Spikes and Toxic Spikes, it can also keep the momentum with Volt Switch, and still keep the same role as Tentacruel with Rapid Spin. It also fares against Choice Scarf Terrakion much easier, a Pokemon that can come in and destroy both Tentacruel (Earthquake) and Thundurus-T (Stone Edge). Here is the set I recommend:

205.gif

Forretress @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 Def / 252 HP / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes
- Toxic Spikes
- Volt Switch

You may also use Gyro Ball in place of one of the two Spike layers; that would require 0 IVs in Speed, and Relaxed Nature, if you choose to use it.

-Also, you have a stinging weakness to Celebi. Something came up in the middle of this rate, so I'll let someone else finish, sorry.

Hi there,

One of the biggest problem of your team in my eyes is Substitute Calm Mind Jirachi. It can setup on your Jirachi and on your Tentacruel and then it can smash your whole team quite easily with its coverage moves. You can only try to stop it with Thundurus-T and Choice Band Scizor but after a Calm Mind they can be both easily eliminated by Thunder and Psychic respectively so they aren't both great solutions for opposing Calm Mind Jirachi. To solve a bit your Sub CM Jirachi problem without changing any Pokemon of your current team I'd try Encore instead of Focus Blast since Encore would allow you to lock Jirachi into Substitute / Calm Mind and then, you can switch into Scizor / Thundurus-T which can both stop without any problem if it's locked into Substitute or into Calm Mind. Otherwise Focus Blast doesn't seem a really useful choice for your team since you'll use mainly against Ferrothorn but it isn't a problem for your team though since Tentacruel can burn it and since Scizor and Breloom make a lots of pressure on it (also Thundurus-T can do a lots of damages on Ferrothorn with Focus Blast) so you can replace it I think.

Then, you should try a different set on your Tentacruel, your current one isn't bad but a Substitute one with Toxic is better in the current BW2 OU metagame in general because Toxic Spikes aren't very useful nowadays since there are a lots of Pokemon which don't care about it such Flying-types (Landorus), Levitate users (Latios and Latias) and Poison-types which can even remove them from the field (Venusaur and Toxicroak). Therefore, I'd try, as I already said a Substitute Toxic set with a classic EV spread of 252 HP / 236 Def / 20 Spd, with a moveset of Scald, Toxic, Substitute and Rapid Spin, with a Timid nature and with Black Sludge. This Tentacruel also allow you to spin always against Jellicent, which can block without any problem your current Tentacruel, and since Jellicent is really common on Stall teams, this set helps you against Stall teams too, which isn't bad of course.

After that, I'd try a different EV spread and a different item on Thundurus-T. An EV spread of 152 HP / 252 SAtk / 104 Spe allows, as lousy918 already said, to outspeed already all the relavant threats after an Agility (like Choice Scarf Latios) and to have a better staying power at the same time which is useful to setup more easily. I'd try also a Yache Berry instead of your current choice of Life Orb which would help you against opposing Mamoswine, which can be troublesome for your current team since you haven't a solid switch into its powerful Earthquake. Life Orb's recoil is sometimes really annoying too so Yache Berry would be an awesome choice to consider, try it and see how it works on your battles. If you want to keep your Life Orb then use an EVs spread of 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spd where 92 EVs on Speed with a Timid nature allow you to outspeed any Mamoswine (expect Choice Scarf variants of course) and to kill it with a Scald under rain.

As last thing, I don't see the point to use a EV spread like yours on Choice Band Scizor, I think a standard EV spread of 252 Atk / 248 HP / 8 Spe is simple better, where 248 EVs on HP allow Scizor to take less damages from Stealth Rock and Spikes, which is useful if you can't spin the Entry Hazards away with your Tentacruel for some reasons.

Good luck!

Hey there.
I have a similar team, I love much your team, Thundurus-T is a Pokémon that can be very dangerous, I can't really rate your team because it seems very correct, but I see a big weakness against Jirachi CM right? You'll tell me you has Politoed Scarf but now Jirachi CM Wish is very played, you can't do anything against him it can set easily on your team (Tentacruel, Politoed/Scizor Blocked), Jirachi is 3HKO by Hpump of Politoed after a calm mind and remember that Jirachi has Thunder/Thunderbolt, I suggest you Mamoswine Bander on Scizor, I explain you: Mamoswine is a very good pokemon for your team, it can easily kill Jirachi with EarthQuake, but it is also good for your team, because now you can reply to Landorus @ Sheer and Thundurus-T, because currently you can't do anything against them, Jirachi is OHKO after a nasty plot and Politoed is 2HKO by EarthPower, the opponent can easily weaken him to finish, You'll be very disadvantaged, now you can come with a good mindgame and RK with Ice Shard, they are obviously OHKO, then in your team you're using Scizor to pursuit Latias/Latios or kill Terrakion/Reuniclus, while you possess Breloom Mach Punch for Terrakion and Jirachi specially defensive, for Reuniclus, Latios, Latias, Tornadus, then with icicle spears you can counter Gliscor Sub toxic which can do a lot of damage in your team.

Now I suggest you put Toxic > Toxic spikes on Tentacruel because the Balanced or Stalls teams can be dangerous, they have generally an Antispinn + Anti - TSpikes, you'll be very disadvantaged especially with Thundurus-T which shall not set up easily, with Toxic you can prevent Jellicent/Sableye to come on the ground for anti spinn.

Then I notice a big weakness against Keldeo Sub CM, it can set up easily (Politoed/Scizor/Tentacruel), Tentacruel cannot counter him because it can not break the Substitute after a CM, and Breloom is OHKO by Secret Sword, Jirachi is 2HKO by Hydropump under rain after a Calm mind (+ 1 252 SpA Kyurem Hydro Pump vs. 252 HP / 224 + SpD rain in Jirachi)(: 324-382 (80.19 - 94.55%) - guaranteed 2HKO), I suggest you put Focus Sash on Breloom, you possess Tentacruel for spinn so you can put this item, with Focus Sash you can lure Keldeo and kill him with Bullet Seed + Mach punch ((if 2 hit with Bullet Seed), then it may be useful to RK or to use spore and now you possess a RK for Starmie LO sweep.

Hope I Helped and Good Luck with your Team.

Mamoswine (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Icicle Spear
- Superpower
- Ice Shard
- Earthquake

Tl;dr
Scizor--->Mamoswine Bander
Tentacruel--->Toxic
Breloom--->Focus Sash
