TEAM IN DETAIL
Quaxo_Politoed_Artwork_by_DarkEmu.png

Politoed (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Drizzle
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Scald
- Protect
- Toxic
- Perish Song

Politoed, the RainMeister does, of course, make an appearance on this team. I've gone with a Specially Defensive Variant because, as I said, I like walls you can fall back on and also it allows me to make effective use of Perish Song in many cases, which can get me out of sticky situations. Scald is of course, a staple move on any defensive Water Type and its handy burn chance is useful for, at times, allowing Politoed to tank Physical (don't you just hate that word?) hits as well. Protect allows me to scout (trying to Volt-Switch, are we?) and restore health. Toxic is great for wearing down and crippling Pokes, and is great catching a switch-in too.

Scizor.png

Scizor (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Technician
EVs: 212 HP / 252 Atk / 44 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Quick Attack
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Superpower

Simple Scizor.
The band for the attack and moveset obvious

Pokemon_Latios.jpg

Latios (M) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Thunder
- Trick

Latios is the Special Attacker of the Team, and my defense against Physical Walls. Draco Meteor is Standard STAB, Psyshock for Chansey and Blissey, Thunder powa!

205.png

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sturdy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Volt Switch
- Rapid Spin

Forretress, as Team Spinner and Hazard Layer, does bear a bit of a Burden, however, he bears it well. His high Defence allows him to lay down or spin hazards easily against many Phsyical attackers and Volt Switch allows me to gain momentum or escape, if I anticpate a Magnezone swtch-in.

landorus-therian.jpg

Landorus-T (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Intimidate
EV's: 100 HP/ 252 Atk/ 64 SAtk/ 92 Spe
Naughty Nature (+Atk, -SDef)
-Substitute
-Stone Edge
-Earthquake
-Focus Blast

This set capitalizes on the inevitable switches he will cause making him very difficult to revenge kill or counter. He will also be a great wallbreaker due to his ability to go mixed. Again EdgeQuake is the main attacking moves while Focus Blast hits Skarmory. The given EV spread makes him quite bulky while retaining power he needs. The 92 Speed EV's let him outspeed Standard Tentacruel (probably the only thing that needs outspeeding). The recommended item is Life Orb as it with the given EV's it will 2HKO Standard Skarmory while the rest goes into attack. Ff the recoil puts you off then and alternative spread of 100 HP/ 108 Atk/ 208 SpAtk/ 92 Spe with a Rash nature retains the bulk while still 2HKOing standard Skarm. If you wish to forgo the bulk then a set like 208 Atk/ 208 SpAtk/ 92 Spe is viable. Finally if you are in need for speed then the 100 in HP can easily be shifted to Speed.

Rotom-W @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Thanks to suggestions from the lovely raters of Smogon Community, Rotom-W has found its way onto this team. Its primary function is to act as a counter to Gyarados, zapping it with its x4 Effective Electric Moves. Peowm, Peowm! Speaking of Electric Moves, Rotom-W has two of them! Volt Switch is for the ever annoying Volt-Turning and provides great synergy with Scizor and Thunder is Rotom-W's main STAB which is very powerful and, thanks to the Rain, accurate! Hydro Pump is another STAB which goes crazy-powerful in the Rain and is always useful. HP Ice is for coverage against the likes of Dragonite.</p>

Hey, cool team.

At first glance this team looks super weak to Genesect no matter what set it's running, it can come in and revenge all of your pokemon unless Landorus-T has a sub up and with rock polish it can sweep you whilst not finding it too hard to set up. There is also the problem of Tornadus-T that can hurricane spam and do a lot of damage to your team with Rotom-W being the only one resisting it. For Tornadus you could try swapping Rotom-W's set over to a Specially bulky one, this lets you take hurricanes a lot more reliably and lets Rotom-W's longevity increase especially against opposing rain teams as it helps take those water attacks. I would also try Hidden Power Fire on Latios over trick just to help against Genesect as it OHKOs in rain with some rocks damage. Some explanation on Scizor would help as well though because I'm kind of thinking you could swap it out for Breloom or Mamoswine however I'm not sure what you need Scizor for. So I'll get back to you if you update that. I'm leaning more towards Mamoswine without the information because it helps against the Therians and still provides priority whilst also being able to hit other things hard such as Genesect thanks to Thick Fat. It also allows you to revenge kill Salamence, Garchomp and other such dragons. The only thing you lose from Scizor is your U-turning and the ability to priority Terrakion which isn't much of a problem because you have Landorus-T as a counter for it. I'll give you a set anyway for it though in case.

Rotom-W set:
h5.jpg

Rotom-Wash @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 216 SDef / 252 HP / 40 SAtk
Calm Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hydro Pump
- Will-O-Wisp/Hidden Power Ice or Fire

This does the same as your other one except takes hits better and allows you to combat against opposing rain teams easier.

Mamoswine set:
19.jpg

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Ice Shard
- Stone Edge
- Stealth Rock/Superpower
Stealth Rock helps free up a move on Forretress for Hidden Power Ice or Gyro Ball to help against things like dragons or terrakion however Superpower can hit Ferrothorn. Jolly allows you to outspeed Breloom on the priority however you can run adamant if you feel like you're lacking power.

Could you explain the presence of quick attack on scizor? I don't find it obvious at all.

quick attack for gyarados and rotom w.. :)

Nah, rotom-w is good with Hpice for dnite :)

HP Fire/Surf > Thunder on Latios. In the rain and with rocks up, HP Fire can OHKO Scizor, Genesect, Forretress and 2HKO Ferrothorn. It also helps against sun teams.

Though it still leaves you walled by Ferro, a rain-boosted Surf is stronger than Thunder and provides much better coverage against Heatran, Magnezone and other Steels. It also helps against sand teams.

Hey Drey95, nice team!

You really are incredibly weak to Genesect, which is the most common pokemon in the current metagame, the standard Scarf set can OHKO 2/3rds of your team (technically due to Sturdy: Forretress can't be OHKOd, so that would mean only 1/2 of your team is OHKOd by Genesect, but with any damage on it at all it can, and it can't do anything to Genesect in return anyway.) Rock Polish variants can easily sweep your entire team, it can safely come in on Rotom-W locked into Hidden Power [Ice], and Forretress, download a Special Attack boost, Rock Polish, and then OHKO every single member of your team after Stealth Rocks with the appropriate coverage move. Thundurus-T can freely spam Hurricanes, and get rid of a pokemon every single time it switches in (unless you go straight to Rotom-W, but not only do you risk a confuse, after that switch-in you won't be able to switch-in again for the remainder of the match.) I've pretty much mimicked Aquaa's post thus far, but this is because I highly, highly suggest you take his suggestion of Specially Defensive Rotom-W over your current Scarf set. Although you replied with "Nah, rotom-w is good with Hpice for dnite :)" I highly suggest you reconsider. Dragonite is a much lesser threat to your team than both Genesect and Tornadus-T, you have 2 steels (albeit one can't do anything in return, but it can wear out its Outrage turns and send it into confusion), a Landorus-T, Latios can revenge it at +0, and my next suggestion will solve your Dragonite issues anyway. Specially Defensive Rotom-W will be a great asset to your team, it's an amazing check to rain offense and it can take even a +1 Bug Buzz from Modest Genesect, preventing Rock Polish variants from sweeping your team.

Now that you lack a revenge killer; I suggest running a Choice Scarf Politoed over your current Specially Defensive set. Your Rotom-W and Politoed have now swapped roles, Politoed still revenges the likes of Dragonite, and it's overall a pretty similiar Choice Scarfer to Rotom-W.

Anyway, I hope this rate helped and GL with the team :)
