This match is from a while back (come to think of it it was one of my first matches). I was reading through my old saved logs and thought it was funny enough to make a warstory of.
Keep in mind that this is my first warstory, that i'm not a particualy good writer, and that it was all formatted by hand (damn warmachine not working right >.<)
Rules: Evasion Clause, Freeze Clause, OHKO Clause, Sleep Clause, Species Clause, Strict Damage Clause, Timed Battle
byhamzilla sent out Manly Kitty (lvl 100 Purugly).
pereus sent out Pidgeot (lvl 100 Pidgeot).
Two unusual starters. But i'm confident, as long as Purugly can outspeed something then your almost guarenteed a good start.
Seeing no reason not to, I go for the standard combo.
Manly Kitty used Fake Out.
Pidgeot lost 27% of its health.
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Pidgeot flinched!
I do pretty much normal damage. If i wanted to i could chance a return and possibly finish it off. However, that would leave me in a bad position for whatever he switches to afterwards. Since Purugly is very important to the team, i decide to continue the combo.
Manly Kitty used Hypnosis.
Pidgeot fell asleep!
Pidgeot is fast asleep!
---
Manly Kitty used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
Pidgeot lost 17% of its health.
My team relies heavily on setting up, which is what makes purugly so fantastic on it. By using hypnosis/uturn it not only lets me basicly take out one of the opponents pokemon, it also lets me see what he's switching to and move to something that can counter it. In this case i get the perfect scenario, he chooses to stay in and wait for pidgeot to wake up, giving me a free set up for the one thing that needs it most:
byhamzilla switched in Stripe (lvl 100 Linoone).
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Pidgeot is fast asleep!
Ahh, it's a good feeling when you can get him in without a hitch, and the only thing to stop from from belly drumming next turn is if Pidgeot wakes...
Pidgeot is fast asleep!
Stripe used Belly Drum.
Stripe lost 50% of its health.
Stripe's attack was raised.
Stripe's Salac Berry raised its speed!
Thankfully it doesn't, letting my sweep commence
Stripe used Return.
Pidgeot lost 56% of its health.
pereus's Pidgeot fainted.
pretty standard stuff, i finally get round to taking out his starter, and i'm in a fantastic position to move onto the rest of his team
6-5 to byhamzilla
pereus switched in Toxicroak (lvl 100 Toxicroak).
Toxicroak used Sucker Punch.
Stripe lost 41% of its health.
Stripe used Return.
Toxicroak lost 100% of its health.
pereus's Toxicroak fainted.
that was... unexpected, i run straight into a sucker punch, but manage to survive and OKO back! I can almost hear the dynamic music in the background, willing me onwards...
6-4 to byhamzilla
pereus switched in Sudowoodo (lvl 100 Sudowoodo).
byhamzilla: i survived that?!?
Stripe used Dig.
Stripe dug a hole!
Sudowoodo used Earthquake.
Stripe lost 9% of its health.
byhamzilla's Stripe fainted.
... ... ... well, i admit it, i laughed a lot once the shock had worn off, what a way to go.
5-4 to byhamzilla
pereus: ....

byhamzilla switched in Manly Kitty (lvl 100 Purugly).
Manly Kitty used Fake Out.
It's not very effective...
Sudowoodo lost 8% of its health.
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Sudowoodo flinched!
Sudowoodo's leftovers restored its health a little!
Sudowoodo restored 6% of its health.

Manly Kitty used Hypnosis.
Sudowoodo fell asleep!
Sudowoodo is fast asleep!
Sudowoodo's leftovers restored its health a little!
Sudowoodo restored 2% of its health.
here we go again, every time one of my pokemon gets taken out, that means another round of purugly fustration, fake out obviously does poor damage, and i should really have gone straight to hypnosis to avoid life orb damage.
Manly Kitty used U-turn.
Sudowoodo lost 19% of its health.
byhamzilla switched in Flytrap (lvl 100 Victreebel).
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Sudowoodo woke up!
Sudowoodo used Wood Hammer.
It's not very effective...
Flytrap lost 13% of its health.
Sudowoodo's leftovers restored its health a little!
Sudowoodo restored 6% of its health.
once again he decides to practicly sacrifice one of his sleeping pokemon, i really don't get it. In any case tho, i make the generic decision to send in my grass-type. Since i run a SpecsBel set even if he runs to something which resists it, it can still do impressive damage. Sudowoodo gets lucky and wakes up, but wood hammer barely bruses the overgrown plant.
Flytrap used Leaf Storm.
It's super effective!
Sudowoodo lost 87% of its health.
pereus's Sudowoodo fainted.
Flytrap's special attack was harshly lowered.
pereus decides to keep sudowoodo in, giving me another KO.
5-3 to byhamzilla
pereus switched in Primeape (lvl 100 Primeape).
byhamzilla switched in Sparx (lvl 100 Rotom).
Primeape used Ice Punch.
Sparx lost 44% of its health.
Sparx's leftovers restored its health a little!
Sparx restored 6% of its health.
theres no reason to keep a victorybel stuck on a -2 leaf storm in on something like primape, so i get out of there. Rotom seemed like a good idea due to his fighting and earthquake immunities. forcing primape to use the much weaker ice punch. That said, rotom still takes heavy damage.
Sparx used Will-o-wisp.
Sparx's attack missed!
Primeape used U-turn.
It's not very effective...
Sparx lost 20% of its health.
pereus switched in Kingler (lvl 100 Kingler).
Sparx's leftovers restored its health a little!
Sparx restored 6% of its health.
grr, a will-o-wisp miss is fustrating. if it had been a hit it would have seriously weakened the angry monkey. as it is he decides (slightly randomly) to make a move to a water type.
Sparx used Will-o-wisp.
Sparx's attack missed!
Kingler used Crabhammer.
Sparx lost 48% of its health.
byhamzilla's Sparx fainted.
What!?! two misses?!? i'm not sure if i would have survived anyway, but kingler is another one of those pokemon who would have been crippled by it. In hindsight a thunderbolt could have been better.
4-3 to byhamzilla
byhamzilla: two misses >.<
byhamzilla switched in Manly Kitty (lvl 100 Purugly).
Manly Kitty used Fake Out.
Kingler lost 29% of its health.
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Kingler flinched!
back to Purugly, Fake Out does surpisingly good damage to a pokemon with such high defence. (more than it did to a pidgeot)
Manly Kitty used Hypnosis.
Kingler fell asleep!
Kingler is fast asleep!
At least some statuses i can rely on, hypnosis goes off without a hitch.
Manly Kitty used Return.
Kingler lost 63% of its health.
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
Kingler is fast asleep!
---
Manly Kitty used U-turn.
Kingler lost 8% of its health.
pereus's Kingler fainted.
byhamzilla switched in Clipclip (lvl 100 Armaldo).
Manly Kitty lost 10% of its health.
This was a bad move on my behalf, not only did i miss out on the setup i could have recieved, but u-turning as a finishing move was ridiculous, forcing me to miss out on sleeping the next foe, but also letting them see what their going up against. proving that taking out opponents pokemon isn't always a good thing.
4-2 to byhamzilla.
pereus switched in Primeape (lvl 100 Primeape).
Primeape used Close Combat.
Clipclip lost 63% of its health.
Primeape's defence was lowered.
Primeape's special defence was lowered.
Clipclip used Stone Edge.
Clipclip's attack missed!
Clipclip's leftovers restored its health a little!
Clipclip restored 6% of its health.
it seems like moves with 80% hitrate hate me today. it wasn't like i was expecting it to do much damage, but on a fragile team like mine staying in and taking a super effective hit is often a lot better than switching. The only thing which could have taken the hit well would be victreebel, but i'm pretty sure he wouldn't like the ice punch next turn...
Primeape used Close Combat.
Clipclip lost 44% of its health.
byhamzilla's Clipclip fainted.
Primeape's defence was lowered.

Flytrap used Leaf Storm.
Primeape lost 100% of its health.
pereus's Primeape fainted.
Flytrap's special attack was harshly lowered.
Purugly's life orb is beginning to get dangerous (i'm so used to the fake-out, hypnosis, u-turn combo that i often forget that i can just use hypnosis by itself), so i decide to go straight to the point, victorybel barely survives the ice punch with 3% to spare, but manages to do what he does best and OKO back with style.
3-1 to byhamzilla.
For most players 3-1 is fantastic. but i still feel like i'm loosing, i have a victreebel on -2 and 3% who can't switch out due to the frailness of my other pokemon. a purugly who will kill itself off if it tries to do anything, and lastly my final mystery pokemon.
pereus switched in Flygon (lvl 100 Flygon).
Flygon used Dragon Claw.
Flytrap lost 3% of its health.
byhamzilla's Flytrap fainted.
Flygon lost 10% of its health.
Flygon? wait, isn't that guy BL?!? This spells big trouble on my team, the big banned-from-UU dragonfly has the attack and the endurance to make the rest of my team look like sitting ducks. Flytrap goes down before you can spell "victreebel" (seriously, it's weird!) and I Brace myself for whats coming...
byhamzilla switched in Manly Kitty (lvl 100 Purugly).
