I am still relatively New to the building process and after testing I still see flaws in the team but this has by far by the most thought process I have put into a team. I built the team around def calm mind reuniclus who has who my quite a few games already by himself because my opp didnt have a team that could break it or I broke their checks first
Step 1
Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
I started by thinking about what are things in the tier that stop reuni and a few things came to mind
Mega Beedrill
Hydreigon
Krookodile
Chandelure
Crawdaunt
Whimsicott
Opposing Psychics(espeon, Cres,reuni etc)
Hard hitting special wall breakers(Nidos,Dragalge, specs Kyurem etc)
So I needed somethings to pair with him to alleviate those weaknesses
Step 2
Hydreigon @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Timid Nature
- Draco Meteor
- Dark Pulse
- U-turn
- Fire Blast
Hydreigon resist both the Ghost and Dark mons who threaten reuni and can eliminate them to open the door for reuni to sweep late game. I decided to go with scarf over specs or life orb because the team lacked speed and I wanted to have something that could outspeed gator, haxorous, and Gyarados at +1 and be able to revenge kill them. Also Hydreigons fighiting weakness is covered by reuni and he is a ground Immunity.
After Testing Hydreigon was just too weak and while it could eliminate possible reuni checks I decided to try out mega Houndoom in its place but he also underwhelmed. The mon I finally decided on keeping was Mega Absol. He keeps hazard stacking at bay while also giving me a way to beat reunis Hard wall (sableye) he also serves as a backup win con with SD.
Absol-Mega @ Absolite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Sucker Punch
- Play Rough
Step 3
Zapdos Leftovers
Ability Pressure
Evs: 248Hp/ 28 SPD/ 152 Def/ 80 spe Def Calm Nature
-Volt Switch Thunderbolt
-Roost
-Defog
-Toxic
I noticed I had a bug weakness and Mega beedrill just running through my team came to mind So I decided I would go with Zapdos. He can take Dracos and dark pulses from opposing Hydros and stall them out while also giving another ground immunity and an ability to take special and Physical hits reasonable will. I also needed a way to remove Hazards.
Step 4
Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
-Stealth Rock Knock Off
Mamo was the wall breaker this team desperately lacked. It tears holes into most balance teams while priority ice shard can do good damage to many big offensive threats. I decided to go with dual stabs andstealth rock Knock off for my final move. Mamo also gives me an ice resist(which I dont plan on switching into very much unless its weaker, non stab ice predictions)
Step 5
Beedrill-Mega @ Beedrillite
Ability: Adaptability
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe Jolly Nature
- Poison Jab
- U-turn
- Protect
- Drill Run
I decided to go with Beedrill as my mega because it gave me not only another wall breaker but some much needed speed. Jolly Nature to outspeed +1 Gator and scarf Chandelure and Gardevior as well as speed tie with mega sceptile. Drill run over knock off to have something to hit Cobalion if its weakened enough and punish Lucarios for trying to set up Because of the addition of mega Absol I had to get rid of the bee but Absol still does a good job of breaking down opposing psychics and ghost types and +2 Play Rough bops the dark types. I needed a pivot in this spot so I went with a recommendation and added Coballion. I went with Shuca berry to live ground attacks and respond accordingly
Cobalion @ Shuca Berry
Ability: Justified
EVs: 248 HP / 4 Def / 64 SpD / 192 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Sacred Sword
- Stealth Rock
- Thunder Wave
- Volt Switch
Step 6
Vaporeon @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD Bold Nature
- Scald
- Wish
- Baton Pass
-heal bell Roar
I went with Vaporeon as the last mon to give another ice resist as well a cleric to heal my other pokemon. Baton pass allows for safe wish passes as well as gaining momentum. Added Roar over heal bell because Vaporeon is set up fodder to alot of the tier lol
The team has only lost 2 times in 25 games and one was to double tri attack freezes so I am happy with the beginning stages of the team but I am not satisfied just yet. I have only played 1 Crawdaunt and it swept me once everything got low, and I havent played a beedrill yet. Any criticism or help would be appreciated
