Sinistcha utilizes an unique combination of solid bulk, a good defensive typing, and great utility moves to act as both a defensive check to some of the most threatening physical attackers like Zamazenta and Great Tusk, and also a potential bulky setup sweeper with Calm Mind and Matcha Gotcha. Sinistcha is able to cripple physical attackers with the support combination of Matcha Gotcha and Strength Sap that lowers the opponent's attack with chances of burn while providing Sinistcha reliable recovery. With Fluffy, Sinistcha is able to be a solid check to strong physical attackers such as the aforementioned Zamazenta and Iron Hands, while also being harder to take down as a Calm Mind sweeper. Well-Baked Body is an alternative that lets it check prominent Fire-types like Moltres, Iron Moth, and Heatran, but is a bit less reliable of a check to strong physical attackers. Leftovers provides an additional source of recovery, while Colbur Berry can be used as an alternative to better stomach Knock Off from Roaring Moon and Meowscarada.

Sinistcha fits well on balance or more fatter teams that appreciate its defensive profile as both a good spin blocker to non-Scrappy Great Tusk and Iron Treads and also physical check to some of the tier's strongest physical attackers like Zamazenta, Iron Hands, and Garchomp. Sinistcha synergizes well with hazard stack teams with entry hazard setters like Ting-Lu and Skarmory due to its ability to spinblock the aforementioned Great Tusk, that can otherwise be a problem for these teams. In turn, they can act as checks to Dark-type attackers like Roaring Moon, Kingambit, and Chien-Pao that could otherwise threaten Sinistcha. Sinistcha is vulnerable to strong special attackers like Iron Moth if not running Well-Baked body as well as Zapdos and Latios, so it appreciates strong specially defensive pivots like RegenVest Manaphy and Swampert that are able to soak up hits for it.

Other Options
=============

Bulletproof can be utilized as an alternative ability option to check Gholdengo and Cinderace running Pyro Ball, however it forfeits some of its physical checking capabilities. Iron Defense is an option to a run a potential double setup set alongside Calm Mind, but loses out on the healing and weakening of physical attackers that Strength Sap provides. Surge Surfer for some reason is bolded on the VR list but I have no idea why you would use that but in theory I guess you could be an ok sweeper when paired with Nasty Plot.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Dark-types**: Strong offensive dark types like Roaring Moon, Chien-Pao, and Kingambit all are able to seriously threaten Sinistcha with their STAB.

**Special Attackers**: Without Calm Mind boosts, Sinistcha is vulnerable to strong special attackers like Zapdos, Latios, and Choice Specs Primarina.
