Calyrex-I not only donates fantastic Attack, Defense, and Special Defense, but can hold its own as a God. Trick Room allows Calyrex to move first, giving it the ability to outspeed faster threats like Electrode-Hisui and Great Tusk. High Horsepower is a fantastic piece of Calyrex-I's set, allowing it to nail Steel-types such as Zacian-C or Necrozma-DM that tend to give it trouble. Swords Dance allows Calyrex to be more initially threatening as its ability may take a good minute to start snowballing. However, Close Combat allows Calyrex-I to nail Dark-types such as Urshifu and Samurott-Hisui.
Pokemon such as Primarina and Iron Moth appreciate the Defense that Calyrex-I donates while also being able to threaten the Steel-types that give Calyrex-I some trouble. Pokemon such as Great Tusk and Mandibuzz appreciated the hefty Special Defense donation and also providing entry hazard removal while others such as Meowscarada and Samurott-Hisui enjoy being able to fire off powerful attacks with the base 165 Attack donation. In fact, Samurott-Hisui can provide Spikes via Ceaseless Edge, which softens up a lot of Calyrex-I's checks. Finally, while Calyrex-I has fantastic stats to offer, it also comes with a mediocre base 85 Special Attack stat and a paltry base 50 Speed stat. This means Calyrex-I usually holds a position in either of those slots, slotting into Special Attack with something like Pecharunt utilizing the slower Speed stat to provide safer pivoting via Parting Shot or a physical attacker such as Landorus-Therian into Special Attack while Calyrex-I sits in the Speed slot.
